That looked like such a cool landing. You can see all the avionics moving. Pilots did a good job, let's not forget about the MD-11 of FEDEX that crashed at this same airport due to the same landing conditions...
Aeromexico is one of the best airlines in Mexico. Personally, I can argue that every employee is highly skilled, from its engineers to its pilots. What a difficult landing, but I recognize that this pilot is BIEN CHINGON!!!!
No, he is not drunk, but let me tell you something guys, did you read the description of the video? It says that the wind condition was very bad and finally, the pilot landed safely.
Narita Airport is one of the most difficult airports on the world, most of the time its windy. AeroMexico as much others has the best crew on board in order to avoid accidents.
@QUEENAHIDEKINGFISHER No, he is not drunk, but let me tell you something guys, did you read the description of the video? It says that the wind condition was very bad and finally, the pilot landed safely.
yes. very easy to sit comfy at your computer and say "he should have done this and that" but i wonder how many of you can manage a strong wind shear 20 feet prior to touchdown. up to second 31 i can't see anything wrong with the approach; it's only then he was took by surprise by the wind shifting direction and intensity and managed to solve it in what was it? 4 seconds? can any of you accomplish that? have you seen any 767 attempt a go around in strong wind at 20 feet? thought so. great landing
Well i must say those pilots were doing all they could do to make that a smooth landing, but mother nature is just to strong! Btw look @ 0:30 he starts to flare the aircraft and then BOOM gets hit by some strong low level wind gust. By watching the movement of the ailerons, elevators, and rudder you can tell that he was working very hard to keep the aircraft stable. Like the person below me said "any landing you can walk away from is a good one". Much respect to the pilots of that flight.
@FrancoCuriel I do remember. I also remember it was an MD11 which in turn has one of the smallest horizontal stabilizers among wide-body jets and this gives pilots a very hard time controlling the airplanes pitch. Bad plane and bad weather! Conditions at NRT that day were similar to those on the AMX landig, with the difference that the Aeromexico 767 did a turn-around and departed that same day. Remember that any landing on wich you can walk away from the airplane on your feet is a safe one
You can noticed the speed of this video has been increased as click bait. The 767 does not react in reality (noticeable at the wingtips). Also, does that believe this was do to windshear, the proper procedure in windshear conditions, is to go around. Maintenance would have not been happy when it comes to the front lading gear taking the full weight of the airplane by themselves. Many airplanes have crashed due to pilots stocking to landing instead of going around.
I don't really know if the weather conditions were so bad, but I've seen smoother landing in my country (Panama) with our crazy weather conditions. Still, I've heard that Is easier to land in Panama than in a lot of other countries, maybe because things like air pressure, altitude and location of the Airport, and this is an example.
Wondrful video...what do you feel during the filming this video when the plane suffered this crosswind and practically had a nose land? This type of landing is common in Narita? Greetings from AGU/MMAS
Wow amazing video Masaaki, Arigato Gozaimas....and you are right, we should respect pilots always, good set......video sorprendente Masaaki, tienes razon debemos respetar siempre a los pilotos, bien dicho.....el 767 de Aeromexico como nunca antes......KEEP GOING MASAAKI!!!........
I agree, you need to be in the seat to feel what's happening at that instant in time. I merely gave my observation also based on a steady windsock. But yes, you need more info. Everyone makes a crap landing, more than once also. The fact remains that pushing the nose down like that is always a no-no. Plenty of runway and there's always a way out; just go-around.
:) SALUDOS
PrinzMarty about the training - speak for yourself. About wind shear > TOGA, yes that's by the book. But when you're 20 feet AGL in a 767 stuffed with pax, TOGA might not work since turbofans have a spool-up time. Adding the sink caused by the windshift and it will catch you off-guard. If you don't have 10 more ft to spare for recovery, you might not wanna pull that nose up cause if you stall it the main gear and your pax will hate you forever :) sometimes it's better to bend a rule than a 767.
@innersilencedotcom The Pilots have had a training what we didn't have and I think, when experiencing a windshear -> go around, nothing else. Better safe than sorry, the nose gear may didn't like the hard touchdown...
@elchato68 Even with that bigger hor. stab. than the MD-11, these pilots had a tough time controlling the pitch of the plane. Bouncing an airplane on a runway has never been considered safe. That's a "first flight" lesson. Cheers.
ok , great work from the pilots yes I give them that , But look at the wind sock is not really showing that much of wind on the surface . and 18 knots of wind component is really nothing for a 767 .... better luck next time . They landed safely .
@klesmer Indeed... They think is like Microsoft flight simulator.. Those pilots were flying direct from Tijuana, Mexico more than 12 hours.. It’s easy to judge but it only reflects ignorance..
@FSXGuy1 Yes its hard, but with that windshear,he pulled his joke back,so the main landing gear touched first... very good job. He did exactly what he should do :D good pilot that just struggled with bad weather conditions... Nothing els at all :D like you said, good landing, but a little hard :D
@innersilencedotcom yup u are totally right, im a serious flightsimmer and there are many fanboys doing critics everywhere ... and they even try emergency conditions in their sims for practice ...
Remember the tragedy of the Fedex plane (do not remember if the plane was a MD11) that crashed on landing in similar conditions. The Mexican pilot of Aeromexico was able to avoid such catastrophe, putting the plane on the ground from the start
WOW! That looked pretty hard! Damn good pilot though, the weather must have been pretty extreme!
I guess the pilot did not expect that sudden change in the wind. Increible.
Great pilots and video.
Awesome pilots! have so much respect for those guys and the job they do.

The real talent, highly skilled pilot.
Aeromexico is one of the best airlines in Mexico. Personally, I can argue that every employee is highly skilled, from its engineers to its pilots. What a difficult landing, but I recognize that this pilot is BIEN CHINGON!!!!
holy shit!!!!!!!!! that windsock looked like 25 knots+ that is well done by the pilot!!!!!!!
No, he is not drunk, but let me tell you something guys, did you read the description of the video?
It says that the wind condition was very bad and finally, the pilot landed safely.
sugoi!!! I believe this is one of our best skilled pilots
Wowww!! Simply amazing =) Amazing capture Masaaki! This one is going into my favourites!! Great job

yes. very easy to sit comfy at your computer and say "he should have done this and that" but i wonder how many of you can manage a strong wind shear 20 feet prior to touchdown. up to second 31 i can't see anything wrong with the approach; it's only then he was took by surprise by the wind shifting direction and intensity and managed to solve it in what was it? 4 seconds? can any of you accomplish that? have you seen any 767 attempt a go around in strong wind at 20 feet? thought so. great landing

Amazing job by the cockpit crew, it looks like it was windy at the time of landing, nice video !!
@0090086 thanks for the compliment greetings from Mexico.
It also long training the pilots go through.Having fly an type of weather to..

well handled. good airmanship!
Excelente aterrizaje ! viva México

GREAT VIDEO, CROSSWIND AND WINDSHEAR!
Wtf that's a crazy landing
@MsTommyknocker Yes is one of the principal airlines in Mexico City, the other is Mexicana.
Pilot was awesome. end of story
really good equipment and love your videos thanks for posting more and more. :)
Wow amazing video Masaaki, Arigato Gozaimas....and you are right, we should respect pilots always, good set......video sorprendente Masaaki, tienes razon debemos respetar siempre a los pilotos, bien dicho.....el 767 de Aeromexico como nunca antes......KEEP GOING MASAAKI!!!........
@tomsamja any landing you can walk away from is a good one
Now THAT........was a fantastic landing all things considered
wow....that was challenging.good landing
GREAT pilot !!!

@wsoft21 awevoooo!!!!!abuelita de batman!!!
all passengers are safe; that is all important

@pberumen77 I would love to see these armchair aviators land in those conditions. That crew did a pretty good job of keeping the shiny side up.
@himynameispaolo AMX have been flying to Japan since the last quarter of 2006 in 777-200 but in the past year the started mixing it with 767-200/300..

@manul914 me hizo el día tu comentario, saludos!
Crazy landing
Holy shit! this could have ended in a disaster, kudos to the pilots. Aguante Aeromexico!
@Hemulen40 Yes!, but that was only because the donkey was under maintenance, that's why we had to use the plane.
@innersilencedotcom The Pilots have had a training what we didn't have and I think, when experiencing a windshear -> go around, nothing else. Better safe than sorry, the nose gear may didn't like the hard touchdown...

Very informative
@MsTommyknocker And for your information one of the best in the world.
LOL
very bumpy
good video friend
What a landing =oS very windy
i'm from mexico and i think aeromexico is the better airline on the word
exelent landing
@elchato68 Wouldn't consider it completely safe. Remember what happened to those FedEx MD-11 pilots in this same airport?
Wow!
Puuuuts... Que madrazo...
Que aterrizaje mas complicado, such complicated landing

@himynameispaolo Yeah... sometimes a 767-300, sometimes a 767-200 and sometimes a 777-200ER... :D
this is crazy
it's many hours training and what do when.need to do it
Rough landing, but well done!
P.S: More JAL 747 Videos Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I could spot at least 2 moments where the crew should have gone missed approach. Can we say get-there-itis?
wow deam WHAT A SACARY ASS LANDING
Any landing you walk away from is a good landing.
@MsTommyknocker really? Does Denmark really exists?? I thought it was a joke on my map!!
NICE VIDEO.
Wow, I would like to see video from inside :)
@cebo1024 Que? What? Eso era para el wei posky. Ah y mi tecla esta muy mal y se me paso el extra o
nearly a repeat of the md11 fedex plane that crashed there they must have some nasty winds there
Holy SHIT that was SCARY !
ok , great work from the pilots yes I give them that , But look at the wind sock is not really showing that much of wind on the surface . and 18 knots of wind component is really nothing for a 767 .... better luck next time . They landed safely .

they use a 767-300 for this route?
wow!
who lands on the front wheel! :/
Wow, close call
Almost looks like the pilot lost his bearings there for a second.
no es facil aterrisar en esas condiciones is not easy land in that conditions!
Arriba México y sus pilotos
guao, amazing.
Windshear OMG!!
OMG!!! :O
The weather ir really bad!!!
