Hi Jon! At 23:13 you said you would get a free waitress for going to the 4th step of the monastery track. That space actually gives you a free dishwasher. Just thought you should know. Love the new format of the playthrough videos!
Jon, I like this switch to two vids. Does not seem any different to those of us that watch the entire playthroughs and is more accessible to those that just want to learn how to play. Keep up the great work and quality vids!
I like the new format where you've split a playthrough into a part that focuses more on the demonstrating the rules and a part that shows off the flow of actions.
Excellent play through. Yes you mistaked the dishwasher symbol on the track for a waitress but heck I make mistakes from time to time like that too no biggie. Keep up the good work. 😁
Jon, I must say. I didn't know about this game before watching this video, and seeing that it was only around 30 minutes made me watch it. I don't know if I would have done the same if it was a single 2h video, so I guess it worked (at least for me!)
I had saved some 1-2 hr playthroughs that remained unwatched before, but I am watching the ones that are cut into tutorial playthroughs. I like hearing and seeing some demonstration better to learn games. Good format change!
Love the new format of using two separate videos. This game looks amazing. I went to buy it as I was watching this video, but looks like it will not be out in the English version until quarter 4. Great presentation as always Jon.
Lavka Games has published the Taverns in Russia. I'm waiting for my box later this week. I will definitely recommend them your channel to be added to their next pre-order campaign!
Once it gets over here in the states it'll be in my collection....one gripe is I wish they would get rid of the white border and fill the art to the card edge, it would look so much better
One question. If you have five schnapps at the beginning of the round and you upgrade your tavern, can you do that before counting the dice for the popularity track? (like if I upgrade my beer delivery place, would I have twice as much beer then?) Thank you so much! We love your videos! I think your tutorials are the best of all!
Unfortunately, it's been too long since I played this game to remember the rules enough to answer your question. Sorry about that! Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad you found this informative.
I have been trying to slow down my speech for these videos over time, but unfortunately it seems they will still be too fast for some people. Sorry about that.
I don't understand why the beer and coin tokens are "virtual", it just makes things more impractical. A simple piece of cardboard with numbers and two tokens would work wonders, and you'd only need one since everyone is resolving in turn order anyway - people who don't need it could ignore it, but others (like me) who would get a brainfreeze mid-turn would have a nice reminder how many coins/beer they actually have at that point.
I think I made a rash decision ordering this game, I don't think I'm gonna remember this or be able to explain it to people without them drifting off. I'm a simpleton, I wonder if I can exchange :s
I bought it from AllGames4You, but it took almost 7 weeks to arrive unfortunately. Here is a link if you are curious, I don't think it was necessarily their fault it took so long. They shipped it out within a couple days but it got stuck in customs: www.allgames4you.de/epages/AllGames4you.sf/de_DE/?ObjectPath=/Shops/AllGames4you/Products/SS49351
Hi, Jon. At 23:11 you mention getting a free Waitress card on Monastery space 4, but the iconography for that space matches the Dishwasher instead, while the track's space 10 does match the Waitress. Do my eyes deceive me?

I watched a few other videos before finding your video on this game and felt completely lost. Your video is the best on this game 👍

Oh that's some beautiful art and mechanism integration right there!

Crazy how they made the gameboard and cards fit together so well. Would love to see more games do this.
Agreed on both counts!

Great presentation as always Jon.
Excellent video- it really helped me when i went through rulebook and then taught the game - we liked it a lot playing mods 1-3
love the new format!
I like this 2 videos format a lot!

really good video (as usual)

They made huge design mistake with white border.

under F in rulebook "you can combine any dice to pay for an actuon" whats that mean?
It's been a while since I played this game, I suggest you ask in the forums for it at boardgamegeek.com
Doubloons?
@jonGetsGames Can I buy the german version and play with English readers? doesn't seem like anything needs German reading skills
Yep! The copy used in this video was purchased from Germany, and as you can see all you'd need is a printout of the english rules translation.
This video made me check my playback speed control to see if I accidently switched to 2x.

I agree that having some way to log them would have been beneficial.

Where did you import your copy from?

Rahdo raved about this, so I must have it!

You made a mistake with the barback. The rule book clearly says they are only worth 1 beer each.
This game definitely needs beer and coin tokens.
Dabloon.
