Man remember watching this when 16 wanting an E30. Eventually bought one when I was 20. This video was my inspiration and I have watched it a good 100 times LOL
Funny enough, I own a 500whp E30 and a 1.6L NA miata, and prefer driving the miata more. Something about the miata just makes it more enjoyable to drive. The seating position, the weight distribution. Miatas are more capable on track than e30s. Drive both, then make your decision.
Yup, miatas and E30s are good on track. But e30 is superior, which is why in Europe they race em in rally, and circuit. They make great times, Miata are close by but the frame is something to consider
It all depends on what you're using the car for. On a track car you want larger diameter, and shorter primaries, before the collector. This will yield more horsepower at the top of the power band, but less torque in the mid range. On a street car you'll want thinner, longer primaries, with a more restrictive collector. This will yield more torque at 3-4k rpm, while sacrificing peak horsepower. To sum up, 3 inch piping for track car, 2.25 inch piping for street.
This is true. The difference in torque at 3-4k rpm was noticeable. The exhaust gasses lose velocity in large diameter piping, increasing the amount of hot exhaust gas that remains in the combustion chamber after each exhaust cycle. This is because there is less vacuum in each primary prior to the exhaust cycle.
Yeah, You're probably right. I hope sound is same than 3 inches because I would like to do this setup but in 2.25. I must admit that this sound is just awesome comparing to other setup on stock 2.5L.
@David_Bureau It's a magnaflow 14815. I reccommend running a resonator or glass pack in addition, unless you want gratuitous amounts of rasp beyond 5000 rpm.
@1989alie30 In my opinion, no. I used the chip that came with the MAF and it ran very rich. After about a month of driving it got better. Also, there are pretty much little to no power gains from this setup because the chip will detune the injectors. You will need to get the car tuned professionally, unless you can burn chips. The only reasons for getting this mod is if you don't want to shell out the cash for an engine swap, and the throttle response for the MAF versus AFM is substantial.
@fernie3100 total cost was $600. I picked up the headers and muffler second-hand on Craigslist. I went to an exhaust shop a friend recommended to me and he did the piping and welding for $300.
@TeaJhey nah I live near San Jose, there is another similar red e30 with tr motorsports in the bay. Couldn't have been mine because I sold it to a guy in SoCal
@teo I have a m42b18 No cats no muffler just a resi it’s a little to loud for me I really like the tone yours give off I want to purchase that same muffler you had put on yours would you recommend keeping the resi or not also it’s a stick resi should I replace it with different aftermarket one I’m looking for a really nice kinda deep poppy sound but not a lot of rasp and I don’t like river sounds and as for a do you really need one for this set up if so how do I go about doing that would love to hear back thank you !
@1989alie30 Uh yep i'm on e30tech Mods include Miller MAF, straight through 3" exhaust, Mustang 19# injectors. Have since been removed for smog/going s52
What an amazing exhaust ! One question : you did piping for 3 inches, and I think headers and especially muffler are in 2.25 inches. Is that correct ? With your experience, do you think 2.25 for piping is too small and 3 inches better ? Thank you and sorry for my english (french people..!)
I want to do this to my e30 vert, I noticed you also live in Ca. What do you do when it comes time to smog your car?smog is the only thing holding me back.
Take the whole stock exhaust system off and set it aside for when it's time to smog. Then get headers and do a full exhaust for the other 729 days until its time to get a smog check again. Obviously put the stock exhaust system on for smog.
+towlie911 heey man i know it was waaay back when u ownd this car but plz send me exctlly the modl of the magna flow . iam having hard time with my muffler sounds
Do you drive it every day? If you do don't get a straight pipe. It'll be fun for like 2 weeks until it's annoying. Girls will hate driving in your car because it's too loud 😉 Get a turbo core muffler, it's much quieter than a borla or magnaflow.
@@towlie911 I need to replace my stock muffler on the e30, i have two options, 2x70mm and 2x76mm, i dont want the end pipes to look too big, what do you recommend?
@@robi6713 I’m not sure if either of those will fit in the stock opening depending how far they are spaced apart. Smaller diameter will look closer to stock. I put 2x76mm on my current car but I had to build custom tips to get them to fit. Send me a pm and I can get your pictures if you like
Random question, i noticed you have the tr motorsport c1 wheels, and im in love with the c3 wheels, do you know if they will fit right on your car? I have looked around to no avail.
Man remember watching this when 16 wanting an E30. Eventually bought one when I was 20. This video was my inspiration and I have watched it a good 100 times LOL
every time I have my mind set on a miata, I watch this video and change my mind
same here man... same here..

I have both, the MX5 is a much nicer drive, but the E30 just feels more special. And it has the noise!
I own an daily a '95 1.8 Miata and a '90 325is. Great combo

I like that Porsche parked there too.

That's sounds awesome. Pretty sure i'm going to go with the 3'' and magnaflow on my car. Your car is so clean.
Nice 912 as well
lol that's what i said
Cole Heckman It's a 911 Targa S.
@David_Bureau It's a magnaflow 14815. I reccommend running a resonator or glass pack in addition, unless you want gratuitous amounts of rasp beyond 5000 rpm.
@tnerual888 the Porsche is actually a 911 Targa S, with the 2.4l flat six
@Dylan_Caruth I believe it was 3" inlet and 2x2.5 outlet. It's a straight through design so it's pretty loud.
I love every aspect of this car. awesome. exactly how I would do an E30.
@1989alie30 In my opinion, no. I used the chip that came with the MAF and it ran very rich. After about a month of driving it got better. Its Sounds great!
Perfect Sound on a e30 !!

Whats the part # for the Magnaflow.
This probably sounds great with a 272 cam.
Thanks, I thought they looked familiar. Whats the specs on them?
What an amazing exhaust !

HELLO MY FRIEND...FIRST OF ALL YOUR CAR HAS AN AWESOME SOUND BUT I WANT TO KNOW WHATS THE NAME OF YOUR RIMS PLEASE
I second this!
i believe those are TR motorsport 15x8 wheels
Dieselboy805
+1 they're TRM C1's from tirerack. They come in 15x7 and 15x8 in e30 fitments. Cheap, light, and look pretty good.
I want to do this to my e30 vert, I noticed you also live in Ca. What do you do when it comes time to smog your car?smog is the only thing holding me back.
i got a silver vert and thinking of doing the same
Take the whole stock exhaust system off and set it aside for when it's time to smog. Then get headers and do a full exhaust for the other 729 days until its time to get a smog check again. Obviously put the stock exhaust system on for smog.
There are places that will "hot smog" your car for $250-$350. They look past your modifications. Although I don't recommend it, it is an option.
+towlie911 heey man i know it was waaay back when u ownd this car but plz send me exctlly the modl of the magna flow . iam having hard time with my muffler sounds
im getting a new exhaust made for my e30 this year and cant decide if i want a straight pipe not sure if it will be to loud
Do you drive it every day? If you do don't get a straight pipe. It'll be fun for like 2 weeks until it's annoying. Girls will hate driving in your car because it's too loud 😉
Get a turbo core muffler, it's much quieter than a borla or magnaflow.
I do drive everyday I want it to sound good but I don't it to be to loud not sure what to do
Hey love the sound of your e30 :)
How long in is the Y-pipe welded ? is it right after the headers ?
Yes, next to transmission
You live in the Bay Area? more specifically Pleasanton? I could have sworn i seen you the other day.
what wheels do you have? i want the same style for my e30 and i dont want bbs like the rest of the e30 world
m20b25? how much was this setup?
@hetzle no u
So its just a magna flow straight pipe wit catback?
Everything was replaced from header to muffler tip
Hello, could you help with an info? What are the diameter of the end pipes?
Outlets are twin 2.5”.
Inlet of muffler is single 3”
@@towlie911 I need to replace my stock muffler on the e30, i have two options, 2x70mm and 2x76mm, i dont want the end pipes to look too big, what do you recommend?

haha, I have e28 and I think now I don't never sell it.. but maybe year and I get jeep too
Fuck ! That sounds really nice!
@towlie911 I am thinking of getting this Miller Maf, Mark D chip for stock injectors, C.A.I and a magnaflow 14815
does that sound good?
Are those the TRmotorsport rims? what size are they and the lip?
Have part number to muffler?
14815
why not, there is plenty of e30's.
Can someone tell me the manufacturer name of this red ? I really like it
Zinnoberot
quite risky in california?
Random question, i noticed you have the tr motorsport c1 wheels, and im in love with the c3 wheels, do you know if they will fit right on your car? I have looked around to no avail.
@towlie911 is the miller maf conversion worth it? mustang 19# injectors on stock tune or with chip?
how much did this set up cost you? like the magna flow with straight pipe and IE Long tube headers? or just without IE long tube headers?
anyone know the wheels? they are perfect
what year is that beemer
I have been looking for a straight pipe for my e30 for a long time. Where did you get yours?
whats the steering wheel?
@VQ35DER IE Long tube headers
Hey man. What's the inlet/outlet size of the 14815 muffler? I'm trying to get one from Amazon, but they don't give the dimensions there.
Is this legal? Straight pipes ?
you useing stock exhaust manifold or new header?
what wheels are those?
Don't remember, car is long gone. I think 15x8
WHY WOULD YOU SELL AN E30???
Do you still have this car?
Someone from SoCal bought it
Keeping my stock sound way better
Hey i am 14 right now and for my first car i would really like to get a 325i e30. Do you guys think thats a good idea or not ?
J4CK3 Good idea I have one
Yes
wat r ur wheels?
So Sick :D
sounds pretty gud just put the cat back on it should get rid of the hi rpm drone
mines is were the cats would go and straight back
I need to stop watching this. All my e30 is missing is the longtubes and magna flow. Dammit. but I might stay with the IE exhaust instead.
IE exhaust is a great setup. I'd rather have that
Prawie kupę zrobiłem z wrażenia .
yea i know, i traded mine in for a new jeep lol
Because racecar.

Söförlüğü bırak olum
What exact model is the magnaflow ?

TR Motorsport C1
