@@kenlee9874 Pretty sure your sarchastic but I'll explain to you about proper car break-in. When a car is brand new you don't drive it out of the lot redling the engine. In your owners manual(which anyone who purchases a brand new car should read) break in period is the restricted or lightly moderated operation of motor vechicle to be taken to avoid pushing the engine, braking hard, and high acceleration. All this steps should be followed to allow the mechanical components of the engine, brakes, and tires to adjust to normal driving conditions on the road and allow for maximum life expectancy. Warm ups is important because you get the most results out of your workout. Same idea can be applied to a new car because most people who buy a brand new car isn't for point a to b; it's an investment that you're taking and with any investment you want to get the most out of it for many years. iG W probably because they change the foreign order so the exhaust pulses are smother and evenly spread for better flow this changes the sound significantly so this gets rid of the V8 rumble
Leave the mileage, the looks and the sound aside. I drive and enjoy manual trans till today and this guy has to be given credit especially down shifting and the perfect rev matching!! Respect man.
Ash Cuckum nope. these bmw engines from that era are usually not the most reliable ones notable exception being the m54 i6. the e60s engines are even worse the have very heavy bearing wear which can sometimes lead up to complete enginge failure at less than a 100.000 miles
More modern cars will barley work after 18 years all the electronics will fail before 10 years many mates of mine with new cars of all brands have sensor fails and car features failing only being a couple weeks old to a year old
I like the way you drive, very mature, very smart. Like a true gentleman that belongs in a 400hp 4 door saloon. p.s. if this is a one owner car(highly doubt it) , and you occasionally WOT or do donuts or powerslides redlining the shit out of the car, makes perfect sense why the car runs great with 400k miles on it
Fetti Monk these things need to be run hard every once in a while to last. They build carbon in the heads too easily. My dad has one and it sees WOT every single time he drives it.
Lovely bassy V8 sound... I love it.. great vid. Almost 400.000mls ? Incredible !!!! That shows something. German craftsmanship. Question: Do you have enough backpressure without mufflers and cats to sustain the HP ? Probably yes with the right ECU remap.
😍 😍 I come back to this every year to see if I am any closer in my life to owning this car! This year I am finally closer! It will still be a little while lol but I have direction in my life now where I can see myself owning this car in 5 or less! 🎉
I rode in one of these back in 2004, It was still new, roughly 5k miles on it. I swear it felt like flying when we took off in that thing. The guy who owned it had just put like $10k wheels and tires on it.
Why can’t everyone’s exhaust videos be like this? No stupid music, no BS shots of revving in your garage, just pure exhaust porn.
I agree, no music!
I hate having to fast forward for 45 seconds while someone walks up to their car lol

Audi s5 4.2L FSI Straightpipe
C63 w204
I see you haven't heard ford mustang V8 sound
Maserati Granturismo and Jaguar F-Type SVR
THE best sounding V8 ever.
Because I have one too 👌🏻
Almost 400k mi, and STILL hauling!!! SHEESH that thing sounds beastly!!!
Mines done about 240,000kms at 530hp... Barely any issues.
Nåti M that’s amazing I’d buy one but they’re so damn expensive
with proper maintanence, mileage is not important.
The E39 remains the ‘coolest’ M5 imo 👍.
Legend has it that 200,000 of those miles are from doing donuts and burnouts
AHAHAHA
Damn that mileage...props on the maintenance bro
Adam Siburt Proper break-in is extremely crucial on the life expectancy on the motor. This is one clean and amazing car

Literally one of the best engines I’ve ever heard.
The sound of that V8 gives me chills man
You shift like a boss!
I genuinely thought when he shifted into 2nd it was an smg bah lawd
those old v8's sound much better than the new ones nowadays !
iG W probably because they change the foreign order so the exhaust pulses are smother and evenly spread for better flow this changes the sound significantly so this gets rid of the V8 rumble
Naturally Aspirated engines ALWAYS sound better than forced induction especially Turbos.
Probably because of emissions regulations
That's because most V8s today (especially from BMW) are turbocharged, which is why they don't tend to have that naturally aspirated-like sound.
Best M5 of all time. E60 fanboys hands down.
5l V8 sound all day
Its 4.9l V8 fucking normie
M5 30 yahre all the way!
Yeah, E39 with that 5.0L V10 would be doub engine swap
all e39s are epic. except maybe the diesels
Marci K. 530d is epic
400k miles *J E S U S*

coyote _302 I'll just sit back and enjoy my 454 Chevy
I removed the mufflers but left the resonators and cats. Sounds just like this car but passes emissions and runs great. Great video!
