@@pditty9259 Got an E30 as my first car. It's reliable, that much I can tell you. It simply starts and goes, each and every time, and has had far less issues than any other car in the family. However, they're not without issues. They're not mechanical, but they've got weak spots in the rear arches, trunks and sunroofs. The arches and trunks are known to rust pretty badly, so they might need repairs, and the sunroofs have a tendency to let water in, if any of the drains in the roof are damaged, your interior will get flooded. These aren't major issues, and can be fixed relatively cheaply, but can be a bit of a pain if you can't take care of them quickly. As for repairs, they're not expensive, provided you know how to do them yourself. However, do read up on the different engines they had, I personally would either recommend a 320i - 325i with the M20 engine, or, a 318is with the M42. The other engines are quite weak comparatively.
@@-l-l3187 You're talking about the E30 M3, which was indeed successful in rally and touring car racing. And, certainly there's some grassroots racing involving 325i's. But, BMW didn't design them for racing. The rest of the cars, the 318, and other 320 variants, which were sold in the largest numbers, and seen everywhere were entry level yuppie cars. That said, they're still awesome cars. They did a lot of things a whole lot better than most of their competitors in that price range in the 80's. I'd definitely recommend them to someone who can care for a 30+ year old car. But, the most perfect car BMW ever made? nah...... unless you mean the M3.... then I agree.
As an E36 owner, I've long wanted an E30 because yes they look great, yes they handle well, and yes they just do have that sort of nostalgic magic to them and the carryover 'halo' effect from the legendaryness of M3 going for them. But the main factor that's attracted me as someone who wants to build is their WEIGHT. At under 3000lb curb weight, they're very light by 'modern' standards, which means every gram of horsepower you add yields a larger performance dividend. You add 50hp to a 3200lb E36, you'll feel it sure, but add that same 50hp to a 2600lb E30 coupe, you'll REALLY feel it.

The paint is 💩 from setting in the sun all that time but that car is coming back around and driving really well 😍
I love the E30. I'm saving up to buy one as we speak. But I also love the E28. I had one for a while and it had SO MANY problems... but I only paid about 1,800 for it so I couldn't complain too much. You should show the E28 some love in a video!

Just because!
I bought a stock prefacelift one that was the baby of the range for less money than what kids spend on phones today, everyone mocked me for it. The last year they did carbs with the nice coupe body too but no options, it was going to be scrapped. I waited until they were getting old but not yet a classic as it was the e21 that was sort after at the time so the e30's were ignored, but I knew even then these were a classic in the making and soon the demand would catch up. Four to five years later it did and you couldn't find one going cheap to save your life, best part is the same people that mocked me wanted to buy it, fast forward 11 years and I still have it and still telling people it isn't for sale.

When i don’t feel like repairing my e30, i watch this video to get a motivation boost
We're happy we could help 🤝
“So you want a JZX100 (toyota chaser)” please make it happen
I bought a 1987 325 5 speed with the 2.7, that sat for 20 years for $250.00. I finally got around to getting it going, it cost $120 for 6 new smp injectors from doctor injector, $130 for new fuel pump and it’s back running. The paint is 💩 from setting in the sun all that time but that car is coming back around and driving really well 😍
Owned g35 for 8 years and today I put it for sale haha just got my m2 tho cheer
"I'm Alex" "Buckle up there Roberto" haha 😄. I was partying in my E30 convertible back in highschool like it was 1999... and I'm still driving it!
So you want an E46????? PLEASE
I love the E30. I'm saving up to buy one as we speak. But I also love the E28. I had one for a while and it had SO MANY problems... but I only paid about 1,800 for it so I couldn't complain too much. You should show the E28 some love in a video!
The E30 was never a coupé, even they said it was a 2door sedan!
4:58 I can now say my stock 325xi is now a race car thanks fitment guy
So you want a Honda prelude, Ford Mustang, infinity g35/g37
“So you want a SuperCoupe (Thunderbird)” something different.. 89-95. I spanked plenty of Mustangs and Camaros with a drop/18” Cobra wheels/smaller pulley/chipped computer/bigger Maf sensor/car had crazy torque and bought mine for $1200 with 80k on it in like 2002. Loved it and got great gas mileage.
Do the E46 next, then the G37 SEDAN the coupe is over rated😂
Sedan version ugly asf compare to the coupe lol
@SoHo Don horrible comment.4D G37 over 2D anyday
My phone buffered right at you saying BMW 3 series E30 and it was the perfect wait for it moment
I been waiting for this video 😭
'91 3.25 IX I6 makes a great snow rally car
So you want a BMW?
Step 1: never touch your indicator stick ever again
Step 2: drive around like you are gods gift to motoring and become the biggest douchebag
Step 3: drive too slow in the fast lane or speed up at the end of a passing lane so no one can pass you, or cut people off at the end of the passing lane then slow right down. Just because!
Just rebuilt my E30 320i engine (stock), drove 900km, now it's making strange noises again... I love the car
So you want a g35, e46, Nissan Juke. We know you know we want it.
I wanted a e30 but ended up getting an e36 still like em both
Yep. E30s are so expensive these days
I'm sooooo glad my wife pounded me in the noggin when I hinted that I was going to sell my 1987 325is coupe..... I still have it with no rust and uncracked dash. It's been garaged and has not been started for over 10 years....
You should do “So you want to buy an Eagle talon” 🙏
