- In this video, Chuck Gartrell shows you how easy it is to install a bike rack on a car for travel. These racks are easy to use, set up and mount most any kind of bicycle. They can be attached to a hatchback, standard boot of a car. The one shown in the video is by Saris and can carry up to three bikes safely.

If you reading this once you put the bike on check the straps again. Often one tends to pop out once the weight of the bike is added.
Thanks for the advice bro! I'd love to go snow with you :)))
@@ossahmadrezaazimikohnabi5108His name is Let’s Go Now lol 😂
Thank you! I was not sure if I was attaching the straps in the right place.
It does the job. Excellent product.
thanks this is helpful alot
nice one chuck
I couldn't see what you attached the straps to at the top. Close up shot would've helped me.
Does the car wing crash with a lot of use ?
Is there any problem with your rear spoiler? I think the weight is in the spoiler
how about rear spoiler, is it safe?
but how do you put the bike on the rack and secure it. Also, doesn't the rack obscure the licence plate?
Can you open the boot door once installed? Some other cheaper models do....
I wait till I get home from work to open my 🥾 boot.
What if you have no upper rack to attach strap to ?
What's this rack called?
so anybody can take it off and run with it ?? how can I keep that from happening?
move out of the ghetto
Get a quality security cable
Find solid area under rear of vehicle
Padlock loop to under carriage
Run cable through bikes and padlock
I use a fairly thick multi woven braided cable
Will distract the common thief
Not pro thief
Cables can be cut
Location when parking plus time of day plays a big part as well
I'm a veteran Police officer and recommend good common sense be used if leaving bikes on rack unattended
😎🚔
I have a hatchback mitsubishi vr x. With a spoiler at top like yours, will it fit?
Haha you have a ricer
Thanks for video,100% helpful again great video

I thought we aren't supposed to attach a bike rack to a spoiler. ?
I'm in all kinds of upset because I didn't realize I can't use it in my car due to spoiler. ☹️
What’s the brand of the bike rack?
Saris
Will this work on a Toyota CH-R?
Make and model of the bike rack, please?
Saris rack
It does not appear that you can open the hatchback when this rack is attached, is that correct?
I was very nervous putting my brand new beach cruiser on this rack. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxG6JIgwJhur8_Rg8UeQ3EmePzi_wSncL8 But after reading many reviews I decided to get this one and take a chance. When arrived it was very simple to adjust and put together. I also added spike tape over the metal hooks before securing and tightening the straps, and no scratches. I also purchased the top bar made by the same company so that my cruiser sits straight on the rack without having to turn upside down. Extra bungee cords are used to secure the front wheel from flapping and even piece of mind knowing your bike is secure. Definitely recommend...
ad. Should show also how to put bikes on the carrier.Looks a litttle unsafe to me?
need more accidents footages for this kind of straps
Install bike rack behind seat
ALL the weight is yanking down on the spoiler!!! How stupid!
It would have been quite helpful if you had mentioned the name/brand of the rack and put that in the description. All I can hear is "saurus" rack.
It's a saris rack :)
The upper straps will brake the rear fibreglass spoiler for sure, and besides the spoiler you will lose your bikes and the bike carrier as well, and you can create a huge accident if it happens while driving in a highway.
No, I don’t recommend to fix a bike rack as shown in this video.
so how would you recommend installing that type onto that car? (I ask as I've been given a rack like that and have a Subaru wagon).
@@berko86he wont say. He just has something negative to say
Just got the 2 bike rack
The straps and lock buckles SUCK
Poor design
Loosen up too easily
Side straps slide down on my vehicle
Not a rack for non trunk style vehicles
that just not safe, people can easily steal this rack for just a second... I wonder if there's any way can secure the back rack
Do not, do not buy this kind of rack!
A waste of money and energy.
