Thanks for showing it with the Mongoose that doesn't have the "standard triangle" frame. So many reviews 9across brands) said if you don't have a bike with that, you'll have a hard time finding a compatible trunk mount. Much appreciated.

Thanks for the video. We purchased one at a Thrift store locally and it did not come with any instructions. I like your idea of using bungies to secure the bikes to the carrier at the bottom. Great Idea! As for the straps, since you have unlimited access to zip ties, it's no big deal. I found though that you can feed the straps back through the slots in the adjuster. Then use a half hitch to secure it. (I used to be a long haul trucker so securing straps comes second nature to me)
We have a Dodge Grand Caravan and the rear wiper arm is offset to the right. So positioning this thing was a bit tricky.
I found that if you push the red release levers after you have the carrier secured and tightened, the rack's straps will become loose enough to unhook them from the hatch and pull the entire thing off at one time. No loosening of any straps necessary.
When re-attaching it, start with the upper straps of course but leave the carrier folded Attach the side and bottom catches then unfold the carrier until it locks in place.
Daniel Morgan btw it's says on the package that you are required to have additional securing (bungee cords or something)
Thanks for that info Juan. LOL how ironic. Well... Since we didn't have the original box or instructions... But I pretty much assumed that I would need to do so. Using Bungie cords just made sense. I used to drive an OTR Tractor Trailer rig, So I know about needing to secure loads. This is no different.

I have an Adjust-a-porter rack that I found discarded. I have no instructions. Will my rack fit a Toyota Sienna van ? It looks very simple but it just does not look right on the back of the van !

Is it legal to do it like that? I want to buy a rack but it seems like they block the rear lights and number plate. For sure it does on a sedan.
Concern over the front bike wheel being inline with the exhaust, a lot of heat from there, may pop your tire.
i had the same one worked great very well built Walmart sells Allen bike racks not these anymore there good too

Did you leave it on and open the hatch on a regular basis with it? If so, do you have a concern about the hatchback door suspension longterm?
I only left it on when I used it and didn't open the hatch too much with it on. I had no issue with the hatch or the rack. I still have the rack but got rid of that car so I haven't used it much lately

My concern on this type of bike rack is ,will this chip the paint where the hooks are,how about causing a dent were the pressure on bike weights when you ran to a potholes,anyways thanks have a nice day

Hi, so this model is only for a hatchback or usv? I got a honda civic ex and iam confused with the "trunk bar" and that clip it have....I just cant figure it out what purpose is for?
The clip holds the trunk bar out of the way on a car like mine. If you have a regular trunk that bar swings up and rests on the trunk.

Did that work for you? In another video people were saying it was a bad idea to hook that on the spoiler I guess those are the top straps please tell me if this work
My car doesn't have a spoiler-the top of the hatch is metal. If yours isn't metal it's not a good idea. Check the instructions that come with the rack to be sure
@@SevenFortyOne thanks so much! Actually I am not sure what a spoiler is I heard them talking about it on another channel. This is a 2019 Toyota sienna and it has like a 6 inch metal thing that goes above the window,Is that what a spoiler is?

I was very nervous putting my brand new beach cruiser on this rack. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxG6JIgwJhur8_Rg8UeQ3EmePzi_wSncL8 But after reading many reviews I decided to get this one and take a chance. When arrived it was very simple to adjust and put together. I also added spike tape over the metal hooks before securing and tightening the straps, and no scratches. I also purchased the top bar made by the same company so that my cruiser sits straight on the rack without having to turn upside down. Extra bungee cords are used to secure the front wheel from flapping and even piece of mind knowing your bike is secure. Definitely recommend...

Yeah I'm just going to sell my Yakima roof mount rack because it's too high up for me to try and put the bike on. I'll replace it with my Bell that I've had and just put it on the hatch.

Awesome video Found one of these at my local GOODWILL for $5.49 seemed like it was complete just all tied up. Was planning to use on my with my viza venom 33cc gas scooter not sure how I’m going to mount it but I’ll find a way. Also had a thought of building a mount for the top of the suv Dodge Journey but this found was a good find Check out my vids 👍.
