What a great tutorial! Thank you Jesse! The only issue I have is that I'm trying to render in Arnold and my entire reveal is rendering with only the Material ID#2. In the viewports I can see ID #1 and ID#2 but when I render, the entire model is only using ID#2. This is in Max 2021. Thanks again for sharing all your work!
awesome tutorial Jesse, though something weird going on, i don't see anything when i render... maybe i missed a step, do i have to add some sort of mesher event?
Very nice tutorial and awesome result. My only issue is that when I lower the brick fracture length, width and height to 1cm Max freezes. It can handle length and width alright, not height.. and I have a very new meaty pc.
thank you ,awesome tutorial . i have a question , i did your tutorial for a logo reveal , in this animation a laurel crown appear with your effect and then a text after , i want to move this text from back to front the camera , tryed to do , but seems that the container and tyflow operator not show the complete transition but only a part of it and dont follow the position key frames , do you have any suggests . thankyou in advance . bye
hey man, cool thing you're showing, I just cannot do the initial animating polygon thing. It just seems to not register any key. [I managed to do the whole process with scaling but out of curioucity, how did you animate polygons?]
@@RedefineFX yeah man that's how I pulled it off, the thing is that in subobject level some ppl may not be able to animate the polygons themselves. The problem seems to be the Edit Poly mod, because in Editable poly mod it works as expected. ty for your time replying tho
Hi um watching all your vídeos, let me tell you you make ir a lot easy then I thought. I’m having just a small problem. How to render final product with FHD quality? My render program normally is v-ray 5, I tried to find a video explaining this and couldn’t find it. Any chance you can make one? Thank you and continue the good work.
Hey dude, i really love your tutorials!! but i've got a problem with this one. I use this with one character i have and the result mesh i get when the tyflow animation ends is still divided i mean i don't get the mesh all smooth like you, i see like a separation between the cubes even if the tyflow animation is all the way to the end
This is a common issue with fracturing objects. The wolf isn’t perfectly smooth either. There’s not a simple fix but you can search the tyflow forum for some more info
I got everything working fine, is there a way each piece could appear smoothly or slowly? I retimed the whole animation and looks fine, but when slowed, I can see how every two or three frames a new block appears but from nothing, not slowly. Can something like that be done? Thank you as always.
Hi Jessie! I followed your tutorial to the letter but I ended up with a render of bricks at the end. The object looks fractured after revealing and not solid as in your example. Have I missed some steps?
@@RedefineFX Thanks for replying Jess. The scene units are cm, I tried this tyflow workflow with different primitives and the result is the same. Never mind, at the end I got an interesting result and combined animation wit a base object with an animated slice modifier. There are so many options that can be used… For example have the slicing face fracturlly displaced to add more variation… Thanks a lot bro for your input on vfx community, Thumbs up!
I downloaded the project scene and replaced the box with a 3D model of my own. I've changed the Birth Object to the model, but when I run the simulation all I get is a few tiny bits of geometry show up.
This tutorial is over a year old. It’s possible you’re getting different results due to newer version of tyFlow. I’ll check the project file when I have a minute
@@RedefineFX This is what I was about to ask. I'd like to have my character walk through the surface test, but he just leaves the bricks where he started before he walks into frame. Great tut, though.
I would really love to know how Tyler made that face/bodyparts explosion like cloth, how to set the explosion, how to make PhoenixFD act as a fluid so the cloth behave like that... so many questions! By the way, you are great!
