Is it possible to beat Borderlands The Pre-Sequel as a bunch' Cry-Babies? What if we tried it on Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode? Can we beat Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode as 4 Claptraps? Borderlands, Borderlands 2, Borderlands the Pre-sequel, and Borderlands 3 all have guns that can get pretty wacky, but wacky doesn't always mean good. In this challenge run, we try to beat the game with only The Cry Baby Assault Rifle! Want to see me try this challenge with a different gun, grenade, or shield? Comment below on what gun, grenade, or even shield I should try next! Any gun in any game (Borderlands 1, Borderlands 2, Borderlands the Pre-Sequel, Borderlands 3, or Wonderlands!)
Borderlands and The Binding of Isaac are my favorite 2 games of all time, so when I found out there was an assault rifle that was a reference to The Binding of Isaac in the pre sequel I was pretty excited, well until I found out that it kinda sucks. But to heck with that, Isaac Online Coop is coming out soon, so what better way to celebrate than with a good old Coop challenge. Today we ask Can You Beat Borderlands The Presequal as a bunch of cry babies. For the basic rules we are going to play at level 70 Ultimate vault hunter mode, BAR will not be allowed, and we will only be allowed to use the crybaby assault rifle. If you don’t know what this gun does, well uh it depends, (skip ahead a bit) The gun can spawn with 2 different unique barrels, 2 unique weapon accessories, and 2 unique elements, for a total of 8 unique combinations, and that not including all the variants when you get a normal element or accessory. Each one is different just like each run in Isaac is different. To keep it simple we will only be using variants with the cool unique parts, minus the default shot barrel because wobbly bullets are fun. This leaves 4 parts combos and each of us will use a different version. Speaking of each of us, let's meet our band of crybabies. (pop pop pop) Our journey begins on Helios space station which is currently under attack by some Insane Dahl military forces. Things were a bit rough at the beginning, we had to get used to the low-to-ground POV, our unpredictable action skill getting us killed, and some very unclear mission objectives. Upon starting our first few fights the chaotic nature of this run became apparent. Tears flying everywhere on top of the random nature of claptraps action skill make it so you can't really plan for anything, a majority of his action skills affect every player, some combos can be extremely strong while others can be quite unfortunate. Frist among our D Tier Action skills is blightbot which has claptrap throw out a siren-style minion that flies around and burns and corrodes enemies. Anyway after saving Jack Thom almost cut the challenge short by killing Zarpedon during her intro cutscene using the pirate ship Actionskill more on that one later. After that, we pushed through the station until we met our first boss Flame Knuckle. We all activated our action skills and the true chaos began. I rolled Gun Wizard which doubles the fire rate, reload speed, and mag size of everybody’s guns, it also completely refills our ammo reserves. alone this skill is an A tier bu

Honestly I appreciate the fact that the Cry-Baby is probably one of the most unique weapons in the franchise with how many factors effect the gun. It even seems like the devs did their homework when making the thing.

@@sugoha_2548 Unfortunately. That's my one issue with the franchise. In end game, only 5 or so weapons are good on any given character. It's a lot better in BL3 since Mayhem 10 is nowhere near as bullshit as OP 8/10
@@cherry9787 yeah, that's usually why I stop playing after lv80. I'll maybe push to Op1 or 2 but after that there's no point. Atleast at lv80 you can still make most weapon work

Seriously. I had to look up a freaking guide online as to how to get the subroutines that had never activated, to activate. But I wasn’t stopping until I got that damn platinum LOL.
i have beat the pre sequel multiple times with clap trap, most of which ended with me not stopping till i was max level before starting a new run. i have never touched the sub routines tree at all 😂😂
@@GelatinCoffee Uhh... VaultHunter.exe, the action skill is the first sub-routine. In fact, all the skills he ranked on that tier list are all his sub-routines. They’re unlocked via different skills in each of the 3 different trees. Just to clarify.
Ngl, i like the occasional BL:TPS runs because its the same look as BL2 but has more diversity to your runs for the action skills and cheese.

TPS CL4P-TP main here, this challenge warmed my capacitors to a dangerous extent, causing me to accidentally thermal vent in an orphanage! On the bright side, those kids get to see their parents again! I'm a HERO!

Beat Borderlands 2 without committing a war crime? Some of the rules I know for certain that would apply are the following...
- (Optional) Start at Lvl 1 as Axton
- Nothing Elemental. Any weapon, shield, grenade, or skill that involves such would be banned
- Bandit and Maliwan weapons/items are prohibited. Maliwan due to the above rule, and Bandit due to their weapons being makeshift.
- If an enemy is strapped to a Nomad's shield, it must be freed. Only attack them if they're agro on you.
- Technical is only to be used for the main quest. Otherwise, you must use the Runner

A lot of underrated in this video for me! I think TPS is very underrated, I honestly found it to be a fairly large improvement over BL2, and if it had more content I probably would have considered it a straight upgrade. And Claptrap... I honestly came to really like him. I almost always ended up getting something useful for his action skill. Almost. I did get bounced out of cover right into EOS' laser a couple of times.
The Crybaby really is a very poor weapon, though. I commend your decision to retain your sanity by making this a group challenge, it would have been miserable solo.
As a side note, the Sentinel is probably my favourite boss intro in the series. Just a silent, surprisingly human-sized alien walking down a staircase it is casually conjuring for that purpose, and without a single word beginning to beat your arse. It felt incredibly cool.
clap-traps skill isn't random. you can absolutely manipulate it to give you specific ones, or at least narrow the range of what you will get. having full health vs being health gated can change everything about the skill you get.

Random fun fact, theres only 2 instances of the borderlands 2 e-tech barrel in TPS, those instances being the Crybaby's wiggly bullet barrel and the lost legion engineer's wormhole generator being specifically a Tedior e-tech rocket launcher barrel (and their shield generator is the vladof sniper barrel that look like its on a jakobs)
I LOVE playing as claptrap in the pre-sequel. The chaos of his action skill is fun, and he’s my little guy. I was so happy when he was made a playable character
I think borderlands is the only game that made a squad of unkillable robots packed with LMGs look cute

This reminds me of when me and my friend fought the claptrap dlc boss underleveled and took hours to kill it, having to take turns dying and at one point leaving the game paused overnight so we wouldnt have to restart.
After having a bad week, a gasmask video has actually made things feel better. Amazing content, pretty cool to see everybody in the claptrap fanbase to collab like this too

Rewatching this, the Jack-o'-Cannon reminded me that a random enemy once spawned with a Boomacorn, and I think it should be somewhat obvious as to how I realized that.

Level 80 OP0, you can only use Level 70 gear, and certain skills that have their own damage that scales with your level and not your gear (Cloud Kill, Helios, Nuke, Buzz Axe Rampage, etc.) would be banned

Claptrap's ability does actually have a certain degree of analysation of the environment such as one place in Helios where you can only get pirate ship

ngl I think claptrap hitting both the griddy and the nae nae in the same video has to be peak cursed content
tip for future challenge runs in bltps if you want it, Aurelia you can skip her dialogue by using her action skill. If she ever starts talking deploy it and it skips that segment saving time, then has no cd if you didn't point it at enemies.

Apparently you can skip OTHER people's dialogue with the lore item you start with (system logs, "dear" sister, etc.) just play it whenever jack starts talking and it skips the chunk of dialogue. This also works in borderlands 2 but the only way to get the item there is the Helena Pierce mission in Liarsberg. It saves a ton of time and if you're playing a character who builds time limited stacks it comes up often.
This one is for sure my favorite Gasmask video yet. I love playing Isaac and loved watching all the Isaac references. Not sure how I kept falling in holes though since it's basically impossible to fall in holes in Isaac...
8:33 I ply a lot of Fl4k in Bl3 and when you shoot while walking forwards in the action skill you’re legally blind so sometimes a actually don’t notice if the enemy dodged until I mag dumped the floor again

I just looked it up and yes enemies can spawn with rare weapons; even legendary weapons. You get some unique crazy playthroughs with enemies holding legendary weapons and using them against you in Borderlands 2.

as someone who has beaten the game as Claptrap 3 separate times and beat the game as Auralia partnering with a Claptrap while we were both using our support trees (don't ask)
Blightbot and Rubber Ducky are unusually good for what they are, Blightbot's DOTs can be nice for regenerating the team's health via claptrap's laughter, and the projectile reflection from Rubber Ducky can save you if you get it at the right time
I will admit I am sad that this wasn't a "while MainFrame was playing during the entire run" challenge tho, it would've fit quite well considering the team comp
they're not random...or, well, not entirely: when you fire claptrap's action skill it has a loooooooong list of things that it checks and generates a list of options that it rolls on from his full list of potential action skills. all of the potential skills it can use have a list of conditions that must be met for them to be an option and a list of conditions that _if_ met _prevent_ them from being an option, generally this ends up being 1-3 options possible in a given situation (leaning towards 1) out of the 15 with some of the options being relatively easy to set up conditions to predetermine...the problem is that half his toolkit is intended to be used in multiplayer and being in multiplayer makes that list of conditions both WAY harder to isolate _and_ vulnerable to latency feeding you and it false information. on top of that a lot of his ults are...well, claptrappy: a lot of the genuinely powerful options get used under conditions where you can at least see how they were trying to help but in practice they rapidly become a bad idea if not handled well...while they're triggering "randomly" from the player's perspective. I genuinely think that this is intentional and I love it and hate it in equal measure.
I saw this uploaded and wanted to watch it as Isaac is my favourite game but i didn't wanna get spoiled on the Pre-Sequel so i finished it yesterday and watched this now

As one of the few CL4P-TP mains that do exist lemme tell you. It doesn’t matter what you want or need, the game will give you some random nonsense that sometimes just WORKS. Also hi five is his best skill. But yeah. We wonky. Weird. Silly. But he’s my favorite.
The Isaac references were awesome. Also imma say it now - if the boss doesn't like the among us references, that'd be because they are the imposter!!!
Mechromancer + Nisha's Action Skill is downright vile to witness. Brother and I were slowly chipping down the raidboss until that happened and an entire phase ended in a second.

Fuck yeah! This is exactly how Vault Hunter Clap Trap is supposed to be played, he's the most overpowered when you have a full team of friends with him, and it's the most whackiest fun too! Especially when considering all the whacky legendary guns with fun effects that could be dramatically overhauled by any one of the random abilities. God I love Claptrap so much, he's so freaking crazy.

As the other 20% of Claptrap Players, MinionTrap easily belongs in F tier. Damage is whack, the targeting is awful, you can't move it, and worst of all: it has a chance of spawning entirely in the floor and doing NOTHING
At least you can still shoot your guns 😭

Challenge: Borderlands 2 with only the Infinity. No Bee shield.
Cursed idea for another TPS run (with another Holodome weapon at that). Use the Plunkett exclusively on Claptrap on the final bullet to proc One Last Thing. If you manage to hit a crit on an enemy or kill them on a body shot, you are able to continue on the run as normal. If by some change however you land a non-fatal body shot, you have to quit out of the map & start again. Missed shots do not forfeit the run in the scenario you get a non-critical kill. If you do want it *that* challenging, then you can definitely see turn it into a "Can you beat The Pre-Sequel without reloading" run & outright penalize non-crits/missed shots.

Have you ever thought of doing a randomizer run? I don’t know if modded runs interest you at all but I saw a randomizer run once where all enemies, items, item parts, prefixes, stats etc. are all randomized. It was pretty ridiculous and pretty entertaining 😂

I know Calamity mod has some BL2 references (a nerfed Bee, Norfleet, Conference Call, etc.)
