My single favorite line in the entire series comes from the Pre-Sequel. It's towards the end of the game, when Jack tells you to kill a Lost Legion deserter attempting to surrender after the death of Colonel Zarpedon. It's one of the few choices you're given in any of the games: either kill the unarmed soldier or let him live. Each character has two different lines, determined by your choice. The line I'm speaking of comes from Timothy the Doppelgänger. If you spare the soldier, he'll say the line: "I'm not you, Jack". It's such a simple, yet brilliantly written and executed line. This series used to have such good storytelling.
That's actually not true. He's weak to corrosive AND fire. You'd think that he'd be resistant to fire before he's a robot, but that's not how the game is programmed.

That’s not true at all, he takes bonus fire damage, just like the rest of the playable characters across the entire franchise. It’s even a tip in a losing screen lol
This game had a lot of issues on release that ruined many people's first impressions. You couldn't farm many bosses or enemies for the best gear (the entire purpose of the series) and had to rely on grinder roulettes for many drops. They fixed most of it now and the game speaks for itself. Claptastic imo was one of the best DLCs of the entire series!
Was there would backup my save on my ps3 in case it saved while dashboard quiting to farm the bosses that never came back.. Like for the shooting star roid shield I ran that for 4 days before I got a good one it was a pita..
I have played all 4 of the games a bunch of times but I never liked the repetitive boss grinding for specific items. Its not really required until you get to UVHM and max level and want to play overpower levels. I just played through the campaigns a bunch of times with one character. So it didnt bother me that bosses didnt respawn and I didnt farm the grinder either. You get enough good drops just playing the game normally to kill enemies quickly. The story was pretty good and I liked the added mechanics of the ground slam and reduced gravity and the jump pads. I think hardcore fans of the series mainly dislike this one for lack of endgame content. And I have another unpopular opinion, I liked the athmosphere and the guns better in the first game. 2 has a good story but it feels more arcady and not as open world as the first one. And the humor was a bit too meta. I also like the first games DLCs better. The claptrap DLC where you have to kill millions of claptraps to exterminate them was really funny. Dr Neds island was also really funny. But the main issue with 2 is that every gun has a fixed quirk based on the manufacturer. I never used hyperion guns because of the inaccuracy thing, and vladof and tediore guns burn through your ammo too quickly, and the Torgue guns always shoot projectiles instead of hitscan, and Bandit guns were almost always bad, so I basically never used any guns from those manufacturers which is half of them in the game, and Anshin and Pangolin only made shields. So I ended up only using Maliwan for the elemental effects, Dahl for the fire rate and Jakobs for damage. Pretty low variety compared to the first game where any gun you found from any manufacturer could be good.
True claptastiv voyage has some of the best legendary in any dlc ever, I’d say it’s probably best or second best behind tiny Tina’s dlc, which in turn produced a whole game based off the tiny Tina dungeon and baddasses

Wonderlands' story is ALMOST good. I find, at first, the Dragonlord's awareness of the world around him to be interesting. The game has some well written quests as well. It falls apart because, unlike the Claptastic Voyage or Assault on Dragon Keep, it doesn't use its story to more deeply analyze its focal character(s). The game doesn't use its story to more deeply help us understand the characters of Tina, Valentine, or Frette. Borderlands 3's story and Tales 2's are both absolutely irredeemable tho. I’m convinced the only people who don’t enjoy playing Borderlands: The Pre Sequel, are people who don’t want to enjoy it. Most of those people all agree BL2 is the best game in the franchise and/or best looter shooter ever and fail to realize the gunplay is most similar to BL2 and takes place on Pandora’s moon Elpis, but they want to complain about moon gravity smh. The laser weapons are great and unique. The story is fantastic and the use of flashback really ties it in with BL2 and lives yp to the Pre Sequel name. The other lazy argument you hear is the claim there is not a lot of endgame content, but I would argue it has just as much endgame content as BL1 and people respect BL1 for what it is. It’s truly baffling to me. If BL2 is the best how on Earth could TPS be the worst? BL2 expanded on what BL1 did perfectly but BL TPS did something unique with the world design and mechanics. And it’s Handsome Jack’s villain origin story, what’s not to love? Regardless of where you think it stacks up amongst BL1 and BL2, BL TPS is undoubtedly a better Borderlands game than BL3.
As a big Borderlands fan, TPS is highly underrated and one of my favorites. Great story, all the characters are very well designed gameplay wise, not that crazy with difficult end game shenanigans, and it has one of the, if not, best DLC expansions with Claptastic Voyage. I wish it got more love development wise.
WOW!! I thought I was literally the only one who played them in that order..... I absolutely hated TPS and wrote it off for the longest time. I just started playing 2months ago and I was very very wrong! the skill trees are AMAZING!

The thing I don’t really like about these games is the fat they add on with mission design. There’s a lot of times where they will have you go somewhere, and then “oh well something happened, go somewhere else so we can get around this spontaneous obstacle.” The worst example of this for me was when you’re trying to get to Felicity but the bridge blows up and you need to go to the other side of the map and back for it. It just feels so unnecessary sometimes
@@Shardyx Reminds me of a few missions on bl2 like the one at the eridium blight where you have to go through a large map just moving around to accomplish a simple task of lowering a bridge
i remember when the holodome dlc first came out that the enemie markers wouldn't appear on the mini map (so it was basically hide and seek)... I still enjoyed my time with this game though :D
I’ve honestly enjoyed watching this I remembered I never got past the o2 bubbles around out side on the plant on the first world and I now feel like getting platnuim
Watching this video of the pre sequel Platinum is much more entertaining, informative and worth the 40+ minites, than some other 20 minute platinum pre sequel video, they were so dull and uninteresting.
Borderlands 3 is fun, the movement mechanics of that game does add some spice to it. The farming on that game is weird/ more convenient compared to the previous titles and legendries drop more common if you play in the higher tiers.
The bad part about pre-sequel is the lack of content (thanks for gearbox to close Gearbox australia. We got 3 whole DLC cut because of that.) and the gameplay of nisha. Sorry, but aim bot ain't fun at all. And, imo, Pre-Sequel have the best map/platforming/final boss of the frenchise. Plus nothing can come close to a melee Athenas fun-wise. I truely love this playstyle. Dashing around with space gravity, and freezing mobs by headshooting with the Excalibastard before slashing them in pieces. Man, so good !
i feel claptrap is good cause you dont need an oz kit, you are less damaged to fire since its a robot and his skill action is fixed to the situation like rubber ducks is low health and and whatnot, so in my opinion i believe claptrap is good for people who havent played tps before
I did all but one of the achievements a few months ago because I can't get the shatter multiple enemies achievement even after 5+ hours of trying but i remember when i had to do the Ghostbusters achievement i only had 3 Xbox controllers so i connected to the Xbox app on my phone and streamed the game to my phone and used the ps5 controller Bluetoothed to my phone as the 4th Controller probably the most jank setup I've ever had to play a game
I'd argue lategame TPS is actually the most balanced out of all the borderlands games. there is no mayhem mode/chaos levels/OP levels, you max out at level 70 which gives the potential for cap-stoning every skill tree, which doesn't make it feel like a build but truly unlocking the characters full potential. I hold TPS higher than 3, maybe lower than wonderlands, wonderlands story had far less to it than assault on dragon keep. BL2 and TFTBL gave such high expectations for the series which is such a same TPS is good but doesn't capture the magic Bl3 seems like such a dissapointment with a lot of decisions made Wonderlands was a missed oprutinity. and New tales is such a dumpster fire, that I honestly expect that gearbox might retcon it.
bl1 is much more balanced, some characters are arguably better for damage than others but every character can mob well and kill craw easily aswell. the damage numbers and item parts are much simpler, with the average endgame sniper doing damage around 10-15k crit with a build centered around them. The power creeping is also signifigantly more balanced, with some guns remaining useful for 20+ levels. Roland is arguably the weakest in bl1 but even then hes by no means underpowered and can hold his own very well. It also similarly has a smaller level cap and potential for all 3 capstones
Morti and brick were the only characters from 2 I found actually fun to play as, while with TPS the only thing I couldn't stand was Athenas Melee build. I haven't played BL1 nearly as much admittedly, but hey I'm glad you enjoy it. @@sarahh08
Watching you play, hearing you only died once made me realize how bad I was at the game ... dying countles times as doubleganger jack wich is considered one of the most OP characters one can choose/buy
I wouldn’t feel too bad. Doppleganger takes a bit to get set up. He certainly isn’t op from jump street. But once you get to skill where killing a digi-Jack counts as a kill, and combine it with the skill that replenishes your shield when you get a kill, you’re pretty OP at that point.
Btw Jack having the destroyer Eye is totaly unlogical because the guardian after we defeated him in BL1 vanished back into the vault. Kinda sad that the Sentinel was like the last battle and then the game ending in a sorta loophole where the only thing left is fighting against it or in the arena.
Oh, that's why the boss music around 20 minutes in sounds familiar, it's the devil's lair strike boss music from destiny, I was sitting here listening to it and was wondering where I heard it from lol
Honestly I think Pre-Sequel is my favorite, I’m currently playing through Tina’s and I really like the class diversity but I’m not too far in so I can’t make any big decisions yet
I know it such random thing to say but i liked Borderlands games because of the story and chilled out gameplay. I like Pre sequel even if BL2 has better gameplay. the looting part kinda always annoyed me, i hate grind bosses for RNG to drop me a unique gun.
I mean... Props to you and the self awareness and maturity it takes to accept when you're not doing something right. However... I think your anger at the barrels was justified. Those barrels suck. Anger can be a good thing, if we know how to use it. Complaining, raging and whining... It is not the best use of it, but it is *a* use for it.
I like the presequel, but it definitely didnt resonate with me the same way the others did, id likely blame it on the samey-ness of the moon locations, the hub being a bit of a mess, and the only sniper class being locked behind dlc (aurelia is probably tied for best sniper in the series imo)
I would argue that Nisha is a pretty awesome sniper as well even though she doesn't "specialize" in it. Her aimbot skill makes sniping entire screens crazy fast and it's a blast to me at least. But I agree Aurelia is amazing.
I was lowkey dying at how you used tediore weapons but it’s okay because the game really doesn’t explain how they work you have to use them for a bit. When you chuck your weapon after reloading, it turns into a grenade. The damage is based on how many bullets you have in the mag, the more bullets, the more damage. The trade off is when you reload it tosses your whole mag instead of just adding bullets to refill
If lilith and them didn't betray jack they could've talked him out of doing everything he wanted to do, them betraying him made him want to do it even more
its fun game and one of my favs for story telling as even vault hunters arnt hero's and shows how corrupt/bad they can be including say mad moxxi only issue i had is short endgame content it has.
if you ever do a playthrough again with claptrap use continuous damage lazer weapons. they literally melt bosses within seconds except the sental unfortunately :(
ah yes the zarpodon or how ever you spell her name fight i remember it uh being very easy. like i legit just had a really good sniper that shot fast and just drained her in i think 10 seconds was fun. and i wasnt even over leveled either
Honestly, most of my issues with the games are skill based. I didn't like bl2 that much at first, cause my intro to the series and fps in general way playing krieg (had a mich better second run with axton, then had an awesome krieg playtrhougj with a friend). The pre sequel is pretty fun, and I never really understood why people disliked it. I recently started playing bl3 too, and I can kinda get why people don't like it in comparison to bl2, but it's honestly not that bad either. The borderlands series has definatly got a special place in my heart no matter what
TPS had good story. but with horrible pacing with huge breaks between combat. the two biggest of those being meeting Gladstone and the scientists getting ejected. and the lack of an endgame and lack of farmable loot unless you want to use the grinder for a chance of getting the weapon you're looking for. it was kinda killed the long term enjoyment for me wich also for me does kill the replayability. And also some of the enemies with dedicated loot does not respawn. The vault hunters are fun and diddint feel like one was super dominant over another Also funny thing i noticed in the BL spinoff games Tediore got some of the best weapons when in the main series they kinda tend to suck with a few execptions. But claptastic voyage is the best DLC in the borderlands franchise
Agree 100% it's the second best game in the series. It has the best max level replay, especially if you use the Jacobs sniper rifle fire rate glitch. The early complaints were spot on. This was never a sixty dollar game and i got it half off that Xmas and felt that price point was more accurate.
I am a little sad that you effectively cheated the Eclipse and Holodome achievements, but I am still glad to see you play this also for more context about the Holodome, you get 10 extra max levels and 5 new unique guns + 1 legendary gun, as well as 6 unique class mods + 6 legendary class mods plus, you probably noticed, but there's 3 completely Holodome exclusive enemies (one being a miniboss), and all that is only 10$ which I'd say isn't too bad in fact its a lot closer to the Digistruct Peak DLC, which admittedly was only 5$
The story? Fucked up, lore breacking but boy oh boy did I like the gameplay, especially that weapon merger and the awesome glitched weapons ... wished we would get a BL1+2 mashed fanmake/remaster just so we can have all weapon categorys like revolder and pistole beeing seperate + bl 2 weapons and TPS game mechanics like the mentioned weapon merger and weapon effects ... a man can dream

Pro tip: When playing as Claptrap, when you get Funzerker, switch weapons or use Melees to save ammo.
You'll also notice how your ammo regenerates.
i remember when the holodome dlc first came out that the enemie markers wouldn't appear on the mini map (so it was basically hide and seek)...
I still enjoyed my time with this game though :D
So that dlc was even worse than it is now....
@@Shardyx sadly it was
That devils lair song goin nuts at the end🔥
I’ve honestly enjoyed watching this I remembered I never got past the o2 bubbles around out side on the plant on the first world and I now feel like getting platnuim
Athena’s shield is such a fun ability
Watching this video of the pre sequel Platinum is much more entertaining, informative and worth the 40+ minites, than some other 20 minute platinum pre sequel video, they were so dull and uninteresting.
That was an awesome video man! Really enjoyed that sepiks music during the sentinel fight btw 🙏
It would be pretty interesting if in the next game claptrap gets or decides to let shadow take over.
Can’t shadow sacrificed himself so claptrap could live.
I didn't enjoy the pre-sequel as much as I loved 1 and 2 (haven't played 3), but it's still a really good game in its own right!
Borderlands 3 is fun, the movement mechanics of that game does add some spice to it. The farming on that game is weird/ more convenient compared to the previous titles and legendries drop more common if you play in the higher tiers.
Borderlands three is honestly super easy
@@Thefakewomanwithamustache for real tho
Three is fun, but the story could have been a lot better.
I hated BL3. BL1 was mid. Loved BL2 and TPS
Fun fact claptrap has a build in this game that made him extremely powerful with explosives 😂
This is probably one of the best videos you made. Love the quality :)
This is a really well put together video my man, w edits keep it up bro!
loved that you used destiny boss osts for some of the fights haha great video!
I thought I was trippin when I heard the sepiks theme in the sentinel boss fight lmao
THE ANGRY BIRDS TRANSFORMERS MUSIC OUTRO GOES CRAZY
Loved this game lol the characters are skill trees are so so good
Best Skill trees to me besides Maya frm BL2 it was very different to fight in space and very fun at the time loved the Claptrap
Dlc too
The bad part about pre-sequel is the lack of content (thanks for gearbox to close Gearbox australia.
Man, so good !
i feel claptrap is good cause you dont need an oz kit, you are less damaged to fire since its a robot and his skill action is fixed to the situation like rubber ducks is low health and and whatnot, so in my opinion i believe claptrap is good for people who havent played tps before
Did not expect to hear septik prime’s theme in a BL video
I did all but one of the achievements a few months ago because I can't get the shatter multiple enemies achievement even after 5+ hours of trying but i remember when i had to do the Ghostbusters achievement i only had 3 Xbox controllers so i connected to the Xbox app on my phone and streamed the game to my phone and used the ps5 controller Bluetoothed to my phone as the 4th Controller probably the most jank setup I've ever had to play a game
There’s this one nova blast build that I love for fragtrap. Still use it today.
BL2 and TFTBL gave such high expectations for the series which is such a same
TPS is good but doesn't capture the magic
Bl3 seems like such a dissapointment with a lot of decisions made
Wonderlands was a missed oprutinity.
and New tales is such a dumpster fire, that I honestly expect that gearbox might retcon it.
bl1 is much more balanced, some characters are arguably better for damage than others but every character can mob well and kill craw easily aswell. the damage numbers and item parts are much simpler, with the average endgame sniper doing damage around 10-15k crit with a build centered around them.
@@sarahh08
Piraud's Thrutch is my favorite location in the pre sequel
forgot to platinum this game sometime ago lol gonna try again now after this vid
My favorite part of br the pre-sequel is playing as claptrap
Watching you play, hearing you only died once made me realize how bad I was at the game ... dying countles times as doubleganger jack wich is considered one of the most OP characters one can choose/buy
Don't worry bro, I was much worse at the other 3 games 😂
I wouldn’t feel too bad. Doppleganger takes a bit to get set up. He certainly isn’t op from jump street.
But once you get to skill where killing a digi-Jack counts as a kill, and combine it with the skill that replenishes your shield when you get a kill, you’re pretty OP at that point.
I like borderlands.- a Borderlands enthusiast
Btw Jack having the destroyer Eye is totaly unlogical because the guardian after we defeated him in BL1 vanished back into the vault. Kinda sad that the Sentinel was like the last battle and then the game ending in a sorta loophole where the only thing left is fighting against it or in the arena.
The Destiny soundtrack and the covers in this video threw me off at first, but they honestly fit pretty well.
Oh, that's why the boss music around 20 minutes in sounds familiar, it's the devil's lair strike boss music from destiny, I was sitting here listening to it and was wondering where I heard it from lol
Glad someone noticed it ;)
i wasnt much a fan of this game but the start menu is my fave one out the games
Started playing this today already enjoying it , 😍 it just sucks for me cause I don't think I'll ever get multiplayer trophies 😭😭
U my favorite tuber so far keep up the amazing progress
Thank you BadEditingWorseQuality HorribleGraphics
@@Shardyx
Honestly I think Pre-Sequel is my favorite, I’m currently playing through Tina’s and I really like the class diversity but I’m not too far in so I can’t make any big decisions yet
I agree with you here; Borderlands 2
Borderlands 1
borderlands Pre
Borderlands 3
The order I looked em too
3 was such a let down for me
"the invincible sentinel was too easy!" level 50 vs level 28
Because I expected it to be level 50 since it was considered to be a raid boss
@@Shardyx u did it in normal mod u had to kill it in tvhm
That's kinda odd to me, cuz terramorphous was level 50 in normal mode, but it's alright
19:08 great destiny music
Ahhh. I remember asking when this video was going to be made. Now it's finally here. I'M LATE I KNOW!
I know it such random thing to say but i liked Borderlands games because of the story and chilled out gameplay. I like Pre sequel even if BL2 has better gameplay. the looting part kinda always annoyed me, i hate grind bosses for RNG to drop me a unique gun.
Claptrap is the most fun character in the borderlands series
This game gets hate for the same reason FF8 got hate back in the day, it wasn't his predecesor all over again.
Hell yeah dude only left is the borderlands 1 dlcs, 2 dlcs and 3 dlcs
I was thinking of trying again now I just upgrade to post and play as claptrap this time
TPS is known to have the best characters that’s about it
The final boss fight music goes hard the destiny fans will know
I like the presequel, but it definitely didnt resonate with me the same way the others did, id likely blame it on the samey-ness of the moon locations, the hub being a bit of a mess, and the only sniper class being locked behind dlc (aurelia is probably tied for best sniper in the series imo)
I would argue that Nisha is a pretty awesome sniper as well even though she doesn't "specialize" in it. Her aimbot skill makes sniping entire screens crazy fast and it's a blast to me at least. But I agree Aurelia is amazing.
7:52 yhis gotta be the funniest shii i've see in a video game lmaoo
6:09 What did you expect? Its a Tediore "Gun". Tediore just builds Trash with a Trigger XD
True
I was lowkey dying at how you used tediore weapons but it’s okay because the game really doesn’t explain how they work you have to use them for a bit. When you chuck your weapon after reloading, it turns into a grenade. The damage is based on how many bullets you have in the mag, the more bullets, the more damage. The trade off is when you reload it tosses your whole mag instead of just adding bullets to refill
Glad you explained it rather than just getting mad at me for not knowing 😅
If lilith and them didn't betray jack they could've talked him out of doing everything he wanted to do, them betraying him made him want to do it even more
its fun game and one of my favs for story telling as even vault hunters arnt hero's and shows how corrupt/bad they can be including say mad moxxi only issue i had is short endgame content it has.
if you ever do a playthrough again with claptrap use continuous damage lazer weapons. they literally melt bosses within seconds except the sental unfortunately :(
ah yes the zarpodon or how ever you spell her name fight
i remember it uh being very easy. like i legit just had a really good sniper that shot fast and just drained her in i think 10 seconds was fun. and i wasnt even over leveled either
The borderlands series has definatly got a special place in my heart no matter what
Now i wanna play it again, for the 5th time!!
Not even joking I just watched the trilogy video without know this video was uploaded
Honestly tps is just amazing
TPS had good story. but with horrible pacing with huge breaks between combat. the two biggest of those being meeting Gladstone and the scientists getting ejected. and the lack of an endgame and lack of farmable loot unless you want to use the grinder for a chance of getting the weapon you're looking for. it was kinda killed the long term enjoyment for me wich also for me does kill the replayability. And also some of the enemies with dedicated loot does not respawn.
The vault hunters are fun and diddint feel like one was super dominant over another
Also funny thing i noticed in the BL spinoff games Tediore got some of the best weapons when in the main series they kinda tend to suck with a few execptions.
Pre sequel is great not sure why the hate on it
Fr bro, it was pretty fun
I dont think it deserves the hate sure its not as good as borderlands 2, but I still enjoy it and its just more borderlands which is great
@@denniskarlsson6173 its better the story is actually good and the endgame isnt relying on 1 or 2 buils per character
@@reddead5945💀
@@reddead5945never comment ever again💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥
I am a little sad that you effectively cheated the Eclipse and Holodome achievements, but I am still glad to see you play this
also for more context about the Holodome, you get 10 extra max levels and 5 new unique guns + 1 legendary gun, as well as 6 unique class mods + 6 legendary class mods
plus, you probably noticed, but there's 3 completely Holodome exclusive enemies (one being a miniboss), and all that is only 10$ which I'd say isn't too bad
in fact its a lot closer to the Digistruct Peak DLC, which admittedly was only 5$
Sh4d0w trap’s name is spelled differently as the healthbar and as the enemy name. One has a 5 and one doesn’t
Very nice. I like your content
I appreciate the support!
I had trophy too on wilhelm
I honestly think this game is under rated and over hated. That "weird" place is a reference to 2001 a space Odyssey
I was wondering if you were gonna fight the secret boss I accidentally stumbled upon it while only level 17 and got pwnd
