How Hard is it to Beat Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel with ONLY Unique Gear?

- After this run, I realized that I've gotten really good at TPS. I used to always struggle with most of the bosses, but most of them were a cake walk in the past 2 runs. Unique gear only was easier than I expected, mostly thanks to the very early shield, and awesome laser guns. Claptrap is also sleeper op, mostly thanks to his healing, and great skill progression.
The reason this video was so short is due to TPS being so short of a game, and me not having great or interesting footage. If you have suggestions for parts of the run that might be good in the videos, like combat or certain areas, please let me know in the comments!

Claptraps randomiser makes him so much funnier and fun than the rest
That is one of the best parts of playing him, until you get the worst package for the current situation.
Lmao, claptrap, hyperion robot, starts with 0 hyperion guns. Never noticed that!
And neither have I, until this comment.
And it has to be Tediore. Lore wise (and in my opinion), he truly is despised.
Honestly I imagine they would have gave you no guns whatsoever just out of spite but tediore works too
You're a massively bigger man than me for going through this game and the entire Claptastic Voyage campaign as Claptrap. I honestly gave up on my run with him and TPS as a whole because I couldn't find a Ack Ack to help deal with with the Sera Guardians during the last Sentinel phases. I swear, I did over two dozen runs for it and got nothing. And even the better characters in my opinion struggled when I went up against the last two Shadowtrap bosses because it was an absolute overload of having enemies who can one-shot your shield, Shadowtrap using cheap homing attacks, and having to deal with the geometry of the map. But you pulled it off with Claptrap. Respect.
Well, Thank you, and I understand the struggle. Only recently (and on mouse and keyboard) have I been getting better at all the Borderlands games, and these past 2 challenge runs were the only times I've managed to beat EOS without dying or cheesing him. As for Shadowtrap, the Athena run was fine, but I really struggled in the Claptrap run, and besides gear (and maybe skills) the only variable that I think really affects the fight is Shadowtrap's gun. For some reason, even though Claptrap takes less fire damage, I was taking a ton of damage and dying super fast. The only way I pulled through was by kiting him around cover, and making sure his shield didn't recharge.
pre-sequel, my beloved.
I really enjoyed the timelapse combats that you had in the video! I think its a great addition
Thank you! I honestly liked the timelapses in the other TPS run. I wanted to find some epic music to play during it, but the Eclipse/EOS theme that I used is still awesome.
I absolutely love claptrap in this game just so much fun
This is the second time I've played as him, and I forgot how much I love his random skills. I definitely need to do another playthrough as him sometime!
I’m glad the channel is on the up and up😤🙌
Thank you! I'm extremely glad for all the support!
fun fact: the proper way to play the 1812 Overture in an orchestra involves literal cannons fired in tune with the music, just like Claptrap does
That has to be the most AWESOME thing ever!
4:48 it also makes farting noises when you ground slam.
I forgot about that. It's a funny Oz kit, but it's not as good as the other ones you can get before it.
Claptrap getting pissed off with another Claptrap unit is karmic justice lol
And that's why TPS is such a great game, the writing is just perfect, and we get to actually interact with Claptraps, unlike 2, and more than in 1.
Toby's Bright Spadron got to be the most broken gun in the entire game. The damage increase is just redicuolus, melting bosses in a matter of seconds.
Enjoyed the vid, waiting for more
I'm glad you liked it! I also can't wait to play more TPS, and I think the Bright Spardon would be interesting to try in harder difficulties, and with Athena's skills.
Cl4p trap is the best idiotic bot thats actually funny, im sad his friends always leave him and then he spends his birthdays alone ;-;
Claptrap is easily one of the best characters in the series.
Digging your content! Ive been wanting to jump back into BL. After recently trying to re-play BL3 and just... well to me, it just stinks. And BL2 I've played so many times.. 30? 40 times?? that unfortunately it's just in "meta" territory and mindless at this point.
But the pre-sequel, I only played through twice. Both just in an effort to max out a claptrap character. So.... lets give the pre-sequel a few runs. Its getting ready to be cold outside so what goes better with winter hibernation than a good loot grind?
Thank you very much! I completely understand game burnout, because that's how I play some games, and that's why I like to rotate through the BL games (and try new challenges/rules) to keep gameplay fresh and interesting. Since I have so many ideas, there's plenty for me to do, but eventually there is a lot of gear I would like to get good rolls on.
Yo wassup man? Love the vids bro, but I would really like to know what beautiful skin you have on cl4p-tp, or how to get it?
Thank you! The skin is called "Saturday Morning" and you get it from the lootbugs in the Claptastic Voyage DLC.
the transition at 12:04 was good.
Thank you! I saw the chance and cut the footage to be frame-perfect to make the impression of it actually crashing
3:40 funnily it was with buzzaxe I killed deadlift in 10 seconds.
And it's crazy to think I used to struggle with Deadlift. I finally got good at the game.
Claptrap actually doesn't use oxygen. Beautiful run
Well, the reason I was hesitant to play Claptrap is that. Playing without an Oz kit is a ton of fun, and I thought it would be too easy without one, until I realized how early on you can get a unique one.
Ngl being able to buy The Machine at any point in the game is all you need 😅
This gun is amazing and drops in every element
Considering how quickly you get access to unique gear early on this should be very easy... especially when The Machine is the strongest weapon in the game and is obtained from literally anything, Mining Laser existing and having access to the 2 unique glitch weapons.
You can also get Tas3r from the Holodome which is an awesome pistol.
Again, VERY easy challenge. Especially since you can also grind into existence unique gear with Luneshine XP bonus and get those level 30 dlc weapons without any effort.
It was a very interesting run, considering I was used to the pain of the BL2 version of this run, but it was a ton of fun and pretty easy, thanks to the abundance of uniques, and Claptrap being super powerful.
To be honest a lot of the DLC bosses have INSANE DoT damage, clap trap isn’t immune to fire he just takes a lot less, but 15% less of 1000 is still only 850 haha, nothing in the base game has nearly as strong as a DoT as the dlc.
Interesting. I didn't know it was only 15% less, I thought it was way more. I guess that's why fire damage still hurt a lot, or it could just be my curse with fire and fire barrels.
Claptrap is the only character I didn't max out in this game (yet) and so far he's my least favourite in terms of gameplay tbh, but his lines ARE the best 100% 😅
Have you done a bl3 run with only white guns yet ? It might be a good challenge
I'm interested in trying that challenge, both with a fresh start, and see if it's possible to play on mayhem 10.
Mayhem 10 would be crazy it could be a hard challenge and a fresh start would be interesting too I would definitely watch both if you tried it
That's why I want to try it sometime, but it will be a while before I get to more random challenges like that. I am super exited to try them though!
@@LookIntoGaming I will definitely be looking forward to when those videos come out I just recently came across your borderlands vids and loved seeing the challenges
1 am post beautiful
how do you even really play claptrap? I’ve tried more than once but he’s so slippery idk how to play him.
My playstyle is running in and hoping for the best, and Claptrap's health regen from his skill helps with that. I found the green tree to be the best one to start, then red, and blue is good if you are playing with friends. I don't know about guns, but it seems he can use pretty much anything, but you want all types if you have the subroutine skills.
11:22
huh?
CL4P-TP is bonified boss.
I feel like I'm cheating if I play TPS without using Clappy.
It's a shame it took me so many years to pick up Claptrap, but he is easily my favorite to play in terms of fun.
Absolutely.
You talk too much like a school oral presentation. It throws me off the youtube video vibe. Otherwise cool vid 🙂
I've only started using scripts in the past few videos, so that's why it sounds the way it does, but it saves me a ton of time editing, because there are less mistakes I need to remove.
