When I told the guys at FuelTech about it they were super excited to see their system used on such a weird and unique build. They are even making me special connectors so I can put the signal from the wheel speed sensors into both FT550's. Im aiming for 600-650HP from each engine which is not to hard with the 2AZ engine.

There are tons of great engines nobody wants to touch that just get crushed into cubes. Here in Brasil, we have a nice old car culture, of course, not the same big blocks americans V8, but, usually, people get impressed on how powerfull our modified old cars are. If you like so, search for those cars (brazilian name):
    Fusca, Chevette, Opala, Diplomata, Fiat 147, Chevrolet Kadet, Chevrolet Omega, VW Santana, VW Gol GTI, Ford Maverick, Ford Corcel, Fiat Marea, Ford Escort. Those vehicles, can tell a litrle bit of our love about machines.

    Iam Brazilian. The information about Brazil Chevy so not have access to American and European projects is not exactly correct. The original project of this car is from the german company Opel, a subsidiarie of GM. The car is kind of Opel Rekord but with an American motor, I think. Cause of that the name Opala (Opel+Impala). Coincidentally, the name means opal (precious stone) in Portuguese. There was modifications by the Brazilian engineers and designers although, because of our rough roads in the 60s and our taste.

  • @serafinacosta7118
    @serafinacosta7118 Рік тому +1

    That is a crock of you know what.
    The Opala is nonetheless an Opel Rekord. Originally Designed by Germans , not Brazilians. General Motors realized they could not make their American version of vehicles to work in Brazil , so they delegated it to their newly acquired German subsidiary.
    It was a common practice back then to short development budgets and allow the Brazilian subsidiaries to only do engineering on an evolutionary basis. Meaning cosmetics and slight adjustments.
    The Brazilian input was so limited even the dire for sheet metal had their spec drawings done overseas. Over the time the Brazilians picked up on some skills and they were given a little extra reign to modify the name plate.
    All these models were Open based, as far as GM goes
    Opala = Opel Rekord
    Chevy Chevette - The Brazilian version was a copycat of the European one
    Kadett
    Corsa
    All popular in Brazil , none engineered there.
    And the trend goes as same at Ford ( Landau , Ltd, 500, Escort, Maverick , F100)
    VW ( Beetle, VW Kombi , VW Passat , Variant).
    Fiat 157 was an Italian ‘s 127

Other cars used a lot are the chevy chevette (because rwd, and we have lots of them here, including sedans e coupe versions) and the VW Gol (which a basically smaller/cheaper golfs).
