Thousand people in the audience
There are about three performances where Angelina was sick and yet she carried on and fulfilled her commitment to perform. This is one of those performances. Alan Walker adores Angelina and loves working with her.
Angelina's roots are in jazz, but her versatility allows her to span many genres and styles. She can sing with overtones of jazz, blues, soul, pop, country, gospel... she's even done some EDM and a little rap. She always manages to select just the right vocal choices to match whatever story she is telling with a song. Angelina has many qualities that separate her from other singers, but for me, her versatility is one of her strongest characteristics, and I think it is what keeps me from ever getting tired of listening to her sing. You just never know what she is going to do next.
My favorite aspect in this performance is her fearless professionalism. Despite a cold she soldiers on and gives her all. Too bad you did not continue to her version of Faded which happens right after where you paused. Most Angels consider it the better of the two songs she performs here.

That "baby crack," as you called it, is the very thing that has flipped my emotional switch every time I've ever heard her sing this song! If Angelina has nervousness, or has EVER had nervousness in her entire singing career, she knows how to hide it perfectly!
Angelina and her tranquility, on this occasion with thousands of spectators was absolutely unreal for a 10-year-old girl and even with a cold. I like Walker's music and this time Angelina's voice has integrated very well into her writing which is normally only instrumental. This recording is from the concert of Alan Walker in his hometown of Bergen, when he ended his world tour in December 2016 and asked Angelina to accompany him with her voice, because even then he considered her a great Norwegian singer. 💛 🧡 ❤️
You should have continued listening as they performed "Faded" next. And yes, Angelina is unequaled in her treatment of jazz classics but her versatility is very evident here as well as in her approach to other genres she has performed. More AJ!

Alan Walker is also from Norway and invited Angelina to sing both Sing Me to Sleep and Faded at this concert in his hometown of Bergen. You should def check out the next part of this concert- where Angelina sings Faded! Worth a listen!
Angelina has also recorded several other pop-related covers, including several of Whitney Houston's and a powerful one by Baby Fuzz called "I'm Still Holding Out for You" sung at 11years old! It will surely blow your mind!

I'ma suggest you check out Angelina's black & white video where she records her cover of I Put A Spell On You. It's from this same year and is the single most amazing blues performance from a young singer that I've ever heard. It's a required experience for any musician or music lover.

Angelina is the barefooted Queen of Soul with a Thousand Voices! She weaves musical tapestries in all colors of the rainbow with her beguiling voice! Her musical artistry is second to none and it not something that can be taught. Soul + Music in perfect harmony!
When AJ is only accompanied by one instrument and you can even hear her take breaths, you become aware how GREAT she is. The control, the emotion, the interpretation, like no other I have ever experienced. The only instrument I want to hear is Angelina's voice.
Angelina doesn't get nervous. She loves singing in front of people. That crack on her voice is probably just due to her voice changing a bit. I kind of like those cracks on the voice.
She can sing any kind of music I think she likes challenging herself. Is a very good training.

Great reaction and after hearing her arrangement of his song on UA-cam, he asked her to open his Home Coming Concery with her arrangement. Listen to the original then hers and you will hear the difference. She rearranges every cover to bring out the most Emotion possible, God Bless!
Hi Maggie, nice reaction here! I reckon that there are two performances by Angelina at the age of ten that you cannot afford to miss. The first is a pop song by Baby Fuzz, called "I'm Still Holding Out for You" - it's a leaked video, but now AJ and her family are OK with that. Her arrangement and voice are mind-blowing on this. The second is her live performance of "Feeling Good" on The Stream Gir Tilbake, a televised concert performance. Those two videos rate in my all-time top ten of AJ's performances, and her voice and interpretation will shock you for anyone of that age.
I love the diversity of your reactions. One day we're watching Metal, the next Opera, the next Jazz, and so on! This is yet another singer I probably never would have seen if not for you. Thank you for doing such a great job of showing us all of these wonderful artists! Great job Maggie!

Actually she had a cold during this performance but like the trooper she is she sang regardless..as for genres, she is a master of many..it might be a mistake to think she is only comfortable in one or two..you’ll see what I mean if you delve further into her work..great reaction, thank you )) ps..she never gets nervous..she says she feels alive and at home on stage )) Alan Walker is a musical icon in Norway..I’m guessing she felt honoured to be asked to perform by him..
@Kevin Good Yes, I was just going to say, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of AJ being nervous. The only reason her voice would ever crack has to be if she decides to let it crack for effect or if she’s got a cold.

She is only 10 here! Personally, I don't feel that this is a pop song. I'm not sure it fits into a category. But it is definitely different than some of the other materials she has done. The fact is she can cross any genre although she has not tried Opera at this point!

Bummer you missed her second song, where she did indeed sing 'Faded' which is the better of the two songs she did in this performance. But it is totally a cool different side of Angelina.

She sings 'La Bohme', it's not one of my favorites but she does a good job at it.

If you check out all her music you will find she can and has done nearly all genres of music, including country, blues, quasi-classical (La Boheme).

10 years old and already a 'veteran'! after winning Norwegian 'Voice' 2 years earlier and a lot of collaborations with many artists in the meantime. Amazing career and just the beginning! Alan is described as a DJ, Songwriter & Producer - which he is - but her you can see he is also an amazing Composer and Arranger. So... in 2016 - he must have been around 19 / 20 y/o here? She’s 10 here. Alan asked her to sing for him for this concert. This is three years before she appeared on AGT. If you don’t continue this video, she sings a second song after this one called Faded.
Just to think this is a 10 year-old girl singing with a whole orchestra behind her and a full audience in front of her, freezes me up!
But not Angelina! She has an innate super-hearing-timing and doesn't even need a "director" to tell her what/how to sing.

You should continue reading her wiki page as there are one or two really outstanding events she participated in: She sang for the Nobel Peace Price Winners in an official event in 2014 (8 years old) and she was invited and sang "Fly Me To The Moon" in Quincy Jones 85th birthday concert in 2018.
So many accomplishments at such a young age that are coming to fruition as we speak 🥰
Nice reaction, for an early Angelina Jordan where you can see the child in her check "I Who Have Nothing" she is in the recording studio for the first time age 6 before Norway's got talent. Even at 6 she will surprise you but as I said you will see the little girl in her. If you can find the one with English sub titles listen until the end.
When Alan Walker posted a video of this performance of "Sing Me to Sleep" on his channel, he "fixed" the break in her voice at the end of the pre-chorus. I guess he thought he was helping her by doing that. If he'd asked her, I'm sure she would have said, don't bother. (Even at this age [10], I believe Angelina understood the difference between excellence and perfection… and knew which one was more important.)
Other 2016 performances include "Feeling Good" and "What a Difference a Day Makes", which both show her jazz roots.
Incredible how diverse she is a true master of her profession . Her self penned Shield or A million Miles are a must!
10 years old here. I have always thought that she probably had a cold, as other performances from a few weeks before and after this concert show no fragility in her voice. The limited hand movements were likely due to the feel of the cloak. This was a big deal for Angelina, as Walker is something of a hero in Norway. BTW - Walker's video of "Faded" has 3 BILLION views on UA-cam.
Hi Maggie. Welcome back! Many believe Angelina had a cold when she did this. My personal thought is that she was simply going through that voice change that people go through around nine or ten years of age. You were surprised to see/hear her doing this kind of pop song. Angelina said, at six years old, that she wanted to sing for the whole world. If that's your goal, you need to be able to sing a lot of different kinds of music.

Maggie a very warm welcome back to reacting to Angelina. She is a self taught vocal prodigy who before age 14 had covered more than 130 songs from about 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres. No doubt she is a true jazz singer but can sing anything. Angelina signed with Republic Records in 2020 as their highest priority new artist but her wise, loving family requested she be allowed to have "as normal a childhood as possible" so Republic has yet to promote her. How refreshing!! We angels (fans) have had great success suggesting to reactors to show love and support to the artists they react to by verbally encouraging to subscribe to their UA-cam channel and to watch the original video, give it a like and to leave a comment. Why would you not listen to his most famous song with over 3 Billion with B views? Too bad you are not that familiar with this angel who will be the next big superstar. Angelina's voice is beyond phenomenal and she has a huge loyal fan base.
At the age of 15 years Alan walker penned the song "Fade" and it got rave reviews from the EDM (electronic dance music) scene. The song name evolved to faded and he collaborated firstly with Isoline Solheim (look her up what a voice). He would collaborate with other singers doing "Faded". His hoodie and mask is his trademark stage wardrobe.

PLEASE DO Angelina's 1st original release next, "Million Miles" from Republic Records where she got signed at age 14. Not only did she wright this song at 14 years old, but it was in memory of her Grandfather who had just died. it will just melt your heart.
Also her latest release is called 7th Heaven, which she also wrote, and it's very jazzy which shows she's sticking to her roots and developing her own distinct style.
I believe we must support this talented girls present and budding career and promote not only what she's done but to promote and introduce her original work as well.

Angelina covered two of his songs that alan had wrote. Alan got to hear her versions of them then invited her to be in his concert to perform her versions at the age of 10. I'd like to say it takes some doing to stand in front of thousands of people with the author of the songs behind you who you covered his songs and to perform take some doing

I love that you are reacting to Angelina Jordan. I would also really love to see you react to Angelica Hale who started on America's Got Talent at the age of 9. She did covers of Rise Up, Girl on Fire, Clarity, Without You and Symphony. She also was on AGT Champions at the age of 11 and did covers of Fight Song and Impossible. Later she did covers of Shallow and Stone Cold as well. She has performed around the world. She also raises hundreds of thousands of dollars yearly for the Children's Miracle Network and Childrens Hospital of Atlanta where she spent months in the hospital at the age of 4 due to double pneumonia, sepsis and she had to get a replacement kidney which her mom gave her. She also was the youngest ambassador for the American Kidney Foundation. I highly recommend watching her performances. I hope you see this.
