I understand why the fireman need to have practice putting fires out on real houses but usually they use old dilapidated houses not new ones habitat for humanity could have used those building materials they could have dismantled those houses and used them in other places My sister had a habitat for humanity house and it's just a sad thing that it's all wasted now going to the dump instead of being someone's home and I know it's not your fault I don't want you to think I'm coming down on you for posting this video but it seems like the fire department should look for older dilapidated houses❤
The fire department doesn't seek out houses, they are offered to them, usually by someone looking to save money on demolishing and old derelict house. Based on previous videos this neighborhood has been empty a year at least as it was bought out by Amazon to build new warehouses, letting the fire department use them for training actually saves money in demolition costs, not to mention most of the homes were long since vandalized. I am surprised though, having friends in the fire department and having been on site for a few training fires, usually once the training is done they will burn the houses to the ground instead of leaving them standing and dangerous.
What a waste. All the stuff could've been donated. Some charity shops will come pick stuff if you have a large load or appliances/furniture. All the wood work could be reused, or donated to the Habitat for Humanity re-store.
@@reginablevins8550 Truth! The folks in Oklahoma, Texas and Florida definitely could have used that wasted materials after those tornadoes...Crying Shame.

But I do agree with biden potato brains should have had to house them in the Democrat states. And this was housing for delivery drivers the more you have the less storage you need in and out quick win win
My home burned down its been six years I've been displaced due to shady contractors leading to a lack of funds for labor and materials! If I was just paying for labor and had access to these building supplies I'd have a permanent roof over my head and likely wouldn't be sick with serious disease likely brought on by stress :(
I'm so sorry to hear about this. Did you have any insurance? I know someone whose house was ruined because the roofer didn't tarp it before heavy rain, and everything got soaked. Then the roofer abandoned the project, and the two insurance companies are fighting it out. It seems pretty straightforward to me: The roofer caused the disaster, and should repair the home and do mold mitigation. Anyway, they are displaced, too. It's such a shame that these types of tragedies occur all the time in this country. I hope you can find a decent home soon.
This neighborhood had the house where Tony and Michael Spilotro were murdered before they ended up in the cornfield in Indiana. If you don't know who that is, in the movie Casino Joe Pesci played Nicky. Nicky was based on Tony Spilotro.
What's funny is that I live not to far from there and I always hated that they would do that and I always wanted to look through there when everything was abounded but if a city wanted to take my home for another building I'm going to stay no matter what
I moved to Las Vegas many years ago but I had grew up in Illinois and I find it so odd watching these in towns that I know. I grew up in Roselle/Bloomingdale but I was born in Elgin
@@psychobenji2345 Yes I did too but watching my kids go through high school in Vegas made me appreciate only having freshman and sophomores together and then juniors and seniors together. Freshmans being in a school with seniors they just have no chance.
Wait that is down the street from me and I was here. Now I have to for take my own video since well my ex sold a warehouse right there. I have to see for myself.
Part of Bensenville was bought for OHare's expansion more than decade ago. When you drive on Irving Park Rd pass through OHare, the south side used to be a neighborhood. It was a ghost town in 2009 before they were teared down.
I went exploring in that abandoned neighborhood once. The oddest part was the neighborhood was completely abandoned but everyone's lawn was freshly cut.
I drove thru when i worked for ABT ...we got escorted out by local PD..It was eerie....like 2001 or 2002 ish...I wanted to peek in garages for an ole muscle car left behind!!
All the homes and businesses east of York Rd. on Irving Park were taken by an Eminent Domain agreement made over 60 years ago. Bensenville lost hundreds of homes and businesses. Also, a centuries old cemetery was forced to move its long dead occupants. Fortunately, one cemetery did not have to be moved and is at the edge of a runway.
I live in a neighborhood where all the houses were built from around 1997-2011. Though said area was built right across the highway from a big heavy industrial park. I hope this never happens to my neighborhood.
Why would anyone want to live next to O'Hare Airport? It was a mistake building there to start with. The noise level must be horrendous. If you look on Google Earth, you'll find a subdivision about a half south of this that was demolished and replaced with warehouses in 2020.
@@StringerMedia In 1967, my wife & I looked at a house for sale in Bensenville. Thank God we didn't buy one there. The area was really kind of seedy in those days, not nearly as noisy as it would be now.

Thanks for explaining. I was coming here to do that.
What a waste of money and resources!
I feel for all the former residents and the builders/interior designers.

such an utter waste of resources.
This is so wrong, Companies need to forced in check
The folks down at Pine & Washington probably can wait to meet the new neighbors. Oops! I meant "can't wait..."

It looks like these houses were burnt just enough to make sure no one would try and live there again.
