Love the new plants but my favorite part was the fall color preview. So many times, UA-cam gardeners describe new plantings as having great fall color - but then they never show that fall color later on! I have two young Gatsby Pinks so I loved seeing what I have to look forward to!
@ 7:00 I REALLY LOVE the plant tags with the plant that you show in your videos. I copy and paste them into a word document, keep them, and either reference them for online ordering or print them to take with me to the garden center. Also, I reference them in my garden schematic. Your garden still looks AMAZING for October!
I love your Oak Leaf Hydrangeas! Mine are re-leafing! LOL!! I’m in zone 9B (New Orleans) so in the dead heat of the summer, they went through the fall color, then defoliated. Now that we’re in our second spring 😂😂, they are leafing out again. My panicles are putting out new blooms bc the old ones burn in August. I’ll get pink around November/December. So don’t give up to anyone who’s in hotter climates. The cycles are just different.
I watch many gardening channels, but you guys are my all time favourite. You’ve really taught me how to pair up plants so it always looks so beautiful - full of color and textures. Thank you so much.
Good morning🌞great to see you both and your marvelous garden, it is great that you shared the color change of some of your shrubs and trees, autumn is a feast of colors, the grand exit before winter's rest. Have a wonderful week🌞🍁🍂🍁
Just beautiful, here on the prairie we don’t get the red tints, but when the sun shines through the yellow and gold, it’s magic. Thanks so much! Zone 3 Manitoba 🇨🇦👏🍁
So awesome! I scored many coral bells on clearance and planted them last weekend. I divided two of them to make more plants and hope they survive! Love the way you planted the dianthus, totally inspired me to do the same. ❤
I hit the LAST clearance sale of the season last week, near Grand Rapids, MI and have 20 PW perennials to get in the ground. I’m trying a mix of Evening Gown and Black Pearl coral bells, similar to what you did with Ballgown and Pistachio (?) a few weeks ago. Can’t wait to see how it looks next season!
I get a lot of inspiration from you guys! Thank you. Of all the UA-cam gardeners, your garden is more "my" style. It's not exactly a cottage garden, but it's not Disney World horticulture, either! I would love to know how you maintain your grass edge. I currently use a moon-shaped spade and go around. Do you have a more efficient method?
We call it Contemporary Cottage! Last winter we did a video talking about. I use a moon shaped edger too...I maintain with an electric edger in between.
Very interesting that the tags listed heucherella as deer resistant. I have stayed away from it because the deer love to eat the few heuchera I have. I wonder if heucherella is really more resistant than heuchera or if it’s a case of deer not reading tags? 😀
I have deer that love to hang out near our porch. I put some pots of new hostas near my house wall and surrounded them by outdoor dining chairs until I was ready to plant them in the fenced garden. WELL! Next morning, the dining chairs were pushed over the deck and the hostas were mowed down within a couple inches of dirt. Anyway, I have found that they are picky about which huecheras and hucherallas they like. It seems they like the more green and more flat leaf plants. I don't know if that helps, but they will eat some and miss others.

The Fall is really when our area shines
The aerial views are spectacular.❤
Those oranges and reds are incredible
Just when I think that your gardens cannot possibly become more beautiful - they are!
haha thanks!

That’s so interesting about the cycles!
Beautiful fall colored plants you have chosen.
Thank you! I love this time of year

That's wonderful to hear!
Your garden never fails to amaze me. I thought the summer was beautiful but the fall color is stunning. So enjoy all that you all do.
Thank you!
Beautiful layout of gardens! I especially enjoy the decision process of transplanting different perennials. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks so much!
Beautiful! I live in zone 7. Fall colors are at the beginning right now. Over the weekend I was in the Catskills and the fall color was gorgeous!
That’s where Christopher grew up…the colors are amazing

It is so beautiful
Beautiful garden. Thanks for sharing. 🌿🌳
Thanks for visiting
So so beautiful! Do you maintain a garden plan of the garden beds?
That's kind of what our social media is!

Sounds great!
Love how you layer with colors and textures …do you usually use a specific number when you plant drifts?
It’s almost always an odd number. At least five to get some impact
So beautiful 🤩 I love heuchera they are really a very beautiful color. You guys have very good taste 👌😍
Thank you so much 🤗
Lovely
Thanks
oh my god!!!! love all those shades of color!!!! I'm so jealous😂😂😂😂 you don't see that here in zone 9b.❤❤ you guys are great!!😊
We will be at peak color in another week or two!
I heard the empress wu will not get big unless you give a lot of water. This year I added it to drip. I want to see that thing get that big.
Yes! Go for it
The audio seems especially good on this video. Have you upgraded? Nice work!
Same system but I am getting much more comfortable with the tech! Thanks for noticing

Oh that will be awesome. If I'm not mistaken one is shiny and one is more matte on the leaves, it will be so nice together
@@growformegardening yes, and the Evening Gown leaf is very ruffled in comparison to Black Pearl
Do you have an all shade video? I would love to have the names of the plants in your shaded area.
We honestly don't have that many shady spots so we haven't focused too much on them. Next year as trees grow we might!

Garden is beautiful as always! May I ask how much shade the Gatsby Pink Hydrangea receives? Such a stunner!
It gets sun until about 1130 and then gets dappled sun for another two hours through the beech tree
Really enjoyed the video, as I always do. However, was Christopher having trouble with his mike. As there were times when it was hard to hear.
Darn! I uploaded the video before I adjusted that. My apologies.

This is our first time planting a lot of them so we will report back!
That's so interesting
