If people complain why Rockford is expensive direct them to this video. This is what real engineering and R&D look like. Compared this to cookie-cutter designs for subs and amps that are just rebranded out of Korea/China...
They don't make there coils, I know people who worked for lighting audio and fosagte. If you didn't know fosagte bought out lightning audio. Anyways coils China/ Korean. Show me a company here in the states that make voice coils I'll wait and I'll wait for a very long time for that!
@@indigenousways666 R/whoosh. Wow your rant makes no sense. He said designed in the US with real engineering. We all know every thing is made in China. All the cookie cutter name brands are just relabeled and rebadged. That's what makes the difference.
I have two 12" p3 subs now in a sealed box with three power series amps and many RF installation accessories in my system. I first experienced the punch of RF as a teenager when my cousin had four 12" old school punch subs, they said punch on the dust cap 😂. They were installed in ported bass tubes just like bazookas in a 90s Chevy blazer strapped down and firing to the back of the lift gate. He also had multiple RF amps on it. I could hear him coming blocks away. The bass was simply insane mind blowing and I became a fan there. This was in the early 90s. I haven't experienced many different brands but I'm definitely an RF fanatic and mainly because this experience and memories that I have from long ago 👍.
My favorite RF's were the old "The Punch" from the 90's, and then the Power HX2's of the early 2000's. I've always loved their amps... solid state for the win!
I had a Punch 150 & 30 with an XV1 crossover & two Punch 15's (not series 1) back in the 90's & I definitely got my money's worth & they never let me down 💯👍🏿
Cool seeing the Rockford Fosgate HQ. The customer service guy working for 25 years. That's amazing and he still has a smile on his face with a great attitude. The design team seems like they've got a good system going and didn't cheap out on good test equipment. The acoustics department is something you don't see every day. I think most companies just pick parts out from China and brand it.
I was the team leader in production for the power-house Hafler amps; DH500, XL600, P5000, P500, P505. Aaron Cayton, Carl Lindquist and I had some good times at Hafler! - Eric R.

Such an amazing experience! Thank you for making this video. I love Rockford Fosgate and have since I was in high school. Just wondering when they will bring back car audio double din radios. Keep up the great work rf!
Thanks for continuing the journey with us mchevownr! Since many of today's autos are getting harder to integrate with, Rockford Fosgate will likely continue working on technology interface devices like the DSR1. The source unit business is a competitive one, and when we made Single DIN source units back in the 1990's and 2000's, we were practically wrapping a $20 bill around each one sold. Bondalero 007 I had a 89' Honda Civic with the the punch 150hd on two 12" in a bandpass box. Started with JBL 8ohm dvc and had a jvc cd player and a Sony preamp...had the amp bridged , the gain was halfway and volume around 25 on the deck, and you could hear me blocks away @Bondalero 007

I've spoke with Forrest many years ago when the 3Sixty.3 was newer and we we're building the "McNasty" which at the time was the loudest all Rockford build in the world.
I love the part where you talk about how many hours of development, research, and testing are put into speakers and subs. But there will always be people who say the cost for their subs are too high and can be had for way cheaper. I wish people understood that with a top tier product, cost is definitely justified!
i gotta question. i have a passion for audio sound.....did any of the guys here have a degree in something that lead them to work at Rockford? and i have their 12 inch subs now....rockford P3's and a 1200 Watt prime amp. looking to getin it installed in a 2011 buick regal

thanx... for showing us behind the scenes... great video...
Man I miss my punch 150hd that amp was a beast. Blown many subs with it
I had it too! Light years ahead starting with my honda crx w/ the punch 45 & the punch pro 15” in 89’! I had the punch 45,75,150,& 150HD and ALL where my start and favorites. Only wish I still had them!#🔊#thepunch#RockfordFosgate#thepunch150/150HD@Kenneth James
We were King’s of the BOOM Beginnings!#👑🔊@@kennethjames7078
Wish I still had that 89’ Honda CRX and both the Punch 45 & 150 amps & both subs (the punch 15” & 18”)would be worn to the bone but still cool to have in collection! Were the Absolute “BEST of Times”@@kennethjames7078
I’m looking for any the punch 45,75,&150 if you know of any for sale. I’m 49 now have still drive a new Honda Civic Turbo but with Skar RP800 & (1) 10” Skar SVR in factory enclosure my wife and daughter got me the Skar bass package for Christmas and it slams too but still think of the old days with no worries in school living at home with mom & dad , I was an only child; I was luckiest kid alive!#80’s#🔊RF👑’s#HondaCars#thepunch#RF@ Kenneth James
That was awesome, thanks Rockford Fosgate.
Thank you for this video. I started in car audio right out of high school and now working on my finishing my undergrad major for EE and I have always wondered where the EE jobs were in the car audio world.
Great video, HUGE Rockford fan now!!
That demo van tho, sheeeesh!!!
Would love to see the Boyz peep other famous American car audio companies and do a similar vid as this
This is one of the the coolest videos I've seen
Love that analysis instrument and software! (OK, so I'm at Audio Precision...)
Nerds are cool. Hate to think what kind of world it'd be without them.
Yup rockfords dope. I own a few of their T series amps and they are no doubt some of the best built, best sounding amps I own
I bet this was a super fun trip.. And I wonder how many windows were replaced in the test car OMG.
1:25:25 heeeey there is eric russel👍👋 ... he is so a friendly guy.......
I hope i can sometime visit rockford fosgate developement too.... it' so interesting... biiiiig thumb up and thanks for this vid... 👍👍👍
I wonder how they did it in the 80's and 90's 😅 you guys should do more inside audio tours of other companies when you ever get a chance 👍 like mtx as they still have many demo rides from the past to the present still 🤔
I've spoke with Forrest many years ago when the 3Sixty.3 was newer and we we're building the "McNasty" which at the time was the loudest all Rockford build in the world.
Rockford Rockford Rockford
ROCKFORD FOSGATE all the way I love Rockford fosgate
Awesome video. More companies should be more open in their production of products.
I love the part where you talk about how many hours of development, research, and testing are put into speakers and subs. But there will always be people who say the cost for their subs are too high and can be had for way cheaper. I wish people understood that with a top tier product, cost is definitely justified!
Totally agree bruv
People luv the cookie cutter low cost no engineering audio. There is a place of course for that stuff but just realize that it is what it is.
Mark Maese, glad you can appreciate the hard work that goes into developing high performance audio. Thank you for being a fanatic!
You guy's did an amazing job on this video documentary (MOVIE) of Rockford! This was amazing! Thank you!
That infiniti is SICK!!!!!!!!🤝
This was AWESOME!
My dream job!!! I'd never retire!!!
Mine is being a reefer farmer but, car audio is the very next love.

Rich! Great to see you at Rockford. Haven't seen you since Signature.

I have 2 Rockford fosgate T1500.1 bdcp amps my manual says it's safe at 16 volts but nothing about the rms power between 12volt 14volt 16volt have you all bench tested one at 16 volts
Awesome and very informative video! I always wondered the process of designing OEM sound systems for car manufacturers?
