- Head transplant? Isn’t that supposed to be impossible because they can’t get the spinal cords joined? William Sikkema, a Ph.D. candidate in biomedical nanotechnology, may have helped find the answer: graphene nanoribbons that are just one atom thick.

While head transplants are certainly a laudable medical and scientific endevor, the far more pressing concern is successful recovery from spinal cord injury. That's where current medical breakthroughs are stuck. This video is putting the cart before the horse and proposing an entire head transplant, when we're still trying to figured out how to repair damaged spinal cords. Your mice model is fine but maybe use that nontechnology to fix a few thousand paralysis patients and then I'll be a little more interested in what you have to say.
The major question is how to reconnect the thousands of nerve connections to the specific body parts they control. The brain is already mapped to specific neurons in the spinal cord, so how do you reconnect the left big toe nerve to the left big toe in the brain? Maybe the voluntary muscle control can be remapped in the brain, but what about the more crucial involuntary controls of the heart, digestive, and other systems that are monitored by the brain? I find it hard to believe that these nerves simply "find" each other and exactly reconnect across a razor thin gap.
Why remap the brain to the parts? It’s easier to map the parts to the brain and then calibrate the smaller differences. Why build a new road through a mountain instead of rebuilding the road?
Think ahead. Think easier later, screw now.
there's a theory according to which if you fail to connect all the spine nerves to a cortect analogue of their respective "sensors" etc, you end up with a brain that's unable to retain coherent consciousness
they cant. but they want to make you believe they can, they want to make you believe they are God.
The next step would be to heal damaged spinal cords before trying a head transplant, I would guess.
Boy. this is some next level quackery.
I fucking love how batshit this is... Is the ai black with white hair or hair white with black face... This has to be a joke! DOOOOOOOOOOMED!!!
@@Oomzilla The pseudo A.I. robot is just basic animatronic. Pre-scripted bs questions and answers.
They also said going to the moon was crazy, man could never fly, or even the hoover dam was never going to work. Nobody can ever really know what's possible.
Yup
@@seanwelsh2857 yeah but it is not possible now. It isnt really close.
Its 2023 and this channel only has 69K subs...? This channel is VERY underrated with awesome material! 💯
As someone with a spinal cord injury…I wish they’d stop…and focus on what’s important. Recovery without transplanting heads…
That's presumptuous! Who do they think they are? That's more than crazy.
We are a hundred years away from a true artificial being, if such is truly possible. We have barely seen the reefs let alone the depths.
My God. The mad scientists are as deranged as ever.
Desperate to avoid death. These people are pretty evil.
Why is everyone so afraid of dying?
we are not the body or the mind
MAD SCIENTISTS 💀!!
This is so funny, more comedy, I don't think anyone is convinced.
8:39 Severe two heads.
Of course it doesn’t have feelings, it’s a computer, programmed to read a script.
Simpsons called it again
This transports me back to a time when I was a kid. Ahhh, Chucky Cheese

lol is this off-brand TED?
Earrie.
Sounds like Jethro on Beverly Hillbillies. Wants to be a surgeon and do the first head transplant....or a short order cook.
what a scam LMAO
Stop violating Indian treaties for as far back as I can remember from the beginning.
Moronic ideacity... anything to get YT hits.

When you translate this to English it says “ringing” 🤣
What the @#$# are they serious?. What kind of Frankenstein bu@#$$## is this ???. Is this even ethical?. Is this even possible or LEGAL.. This is definitely charting new and dark Waters here!
This video is new but the speculative theory is not. It will happen some day….watch for Neurolink in the coming years. Not evil, progress.
