Lonergan Cues - Making a new shaft for broken pool cue

- This cue came in for repair with a nasty break towards the tip end of the cue.
It was badly splintered and couldn't be saved. The customer decided to have a joint put into the cue and a new shaft made for it.
The grain is a good match to the original and is a top quality piece of ash.
Hope you enjoy the video!

Hello, good and creative work, but I did not understand what you mean by sand and grains.
Liked and watched with great interest despite the irritating "music".
How is the tapered workpiece held in the chuck?
It's held using a tapered sleeve I made
Can i see you put a titanium ferrule on
Where are you based in South Wales?
I'm in Bridgend
Didn’t coring out the lead change how the cue felt. Not a criticism just interested 😊
@lukepbriggs6225 With this repair there were massive changes to the cue, for a start it was 1 piece and had to be made into a jointed cue and also the shaft is brand new and not the original. Those things would have made a much bigger difference to how the cue felt than drilling through the lead.
@@DiaryOfACuemaker makes sense. I suppose adding the joint would put some heft back there too
sad to see such workmanship on a crispian jones. (the lead i mean.)
