    I love ideas like this. Haven't seen something like this before on a Miata. Thoughts on hanging a CPU cooler (just because its the smallest water rad I can think of) from a hood vent? I'd run the turbo water feed to it, then to the turbo, then return it as normal.

      Thanks for watching paintman! :) I wouldn't do anything like that with my turbo, it's a good setup as it is with the lines running in the same system as the engine cooling, separating them would add too much complexity.

      Hi Poloi, of course, you need to choose the pump that suits your application and engine - if you have a lot of power or added something like a turbo you may need a higher performance pump - but I opted for the davies craig units as they are popular, high quality, and work well. Check out my other videos on the electric water pump setup where I have detailed the benefits and reasons for changing from the oem mechanical pump.

    With running the pump slower arent you increasing the risk of hotspots?

    • @Bbeavis

      This pump flows and cools much more than the mechanical pump.

      @@Bbeavis Yes but even with the stock mechanical pump without thermostat it will overcool the engine.

    What size belt did you end up with?

    • @Bbeavis
      @Bbeavis  3 роки тому

      Just measure it with a length of wire wrapped around the two pulleys, gives you the perfect size. I did this 3 years ago now so I don't remember the specific length.
