We saw Alan in NYC at THE BOTTOM LINE...where he did "Rising Sun' as a jazz waltz..!! It was terrific. It took the audience a second or two to catch on.. but after that.....

Alan Price is a great keyboard player, but sorry his version doesn’t match up to Eric Burdon’s. Eric has a powerhouse voice. Alan’s version is good though.

This is a good version of The house of the rising sun, but the intensity and the pathos of Eric Burdon's voice are unmatchable. He's the only one who can sing it, for me
I like this. This is more jazz blues than the Animals' "original" version, which was blues rock. They're all covers obviously. Woody Guthrie sung it back in the 1930s. Even that might have been a cover for all I know.

Not a bad rendition but in all honesty , in my opinion of course, Eric Burdon and Pete Cadenza did the best justice to this legendary song.

He has great vocal ability and a kind of plastic emotion ... somewhere between soulful and an English politician.
