Right! To think that she started only impersonating a somewhat not so popular Penelope Cruz ( phenomenaly) but who knew she had so much range with all these new impersonations
In retrospect, it seems unbelievable that Jim Carrey didn't get hired, but it was probably for the best. He was amazing on In Living Color and his style was probably more suited for that show. In the long run, it was probably the best for his career as well. If he'd been hired for SNL, he probably would've been so popular that they might've convinced him to stay for like ten years, in which case, he may not have been able to start his phenomenal film career when he did.
Plus SNL was too crowded with huge talent at the time and he might have drown there while in living colrs he was with very few people, seriously not more than 10 people at the same time and got more room
Exactly while SNL is amazing for the greatest height of comedic career you can't do anything else once you get out. Most people have either done shows or movies that dudually didn't get much show light ( except Andy samberg, Bill hader and all the other late night hosts like Seth, Fallon and others) meanwhile Arminsen's portlandia wasn't known and Wiig usually did comedic movies like bridesmaid, Ghostbusters and others. Seth's audition killed me. ESPECIALLY WITH THAT ENGLISH ACCENT AMIRITE
+Christine Magill He was doing Hugh Grant.
Wow can't got over how young Seth is at 1:40!! Looks completely different than he did on his SNL days.
Seth's Hugh Grant impression was awesome!!!!
Why do I rewatch this so often and get goosebumps every frickin' time?
Leslie got to do that super baby bit on Weekend Update...imagine your audition being so good that not only do they want you, but they want to do your audition material on the show too. That’s gotta feel pretty good.
I was lucky enough to be able to watch SNL growing up and getting to see John Belushi, Gilda Radner, Dan Ackroid, Phil Hartman, and all the other OG, Icould go on and on....
Oh wow, Kate at 2:02 doing Penelope Cruz, what a talent!!!
Tina Fey said she cast Jonathon Bennet as Aaron Samuels in mean girls partly because he looked like Jimmy Fallon and I didn't realise how right she was until I saw this 😂😂
"It's a busathon! We raising money while we're on the bus!" -Jerry Seinfeld -Jimmy Fallon
Armisen's Ferecito character was so great! So forward thinking and clever...
I'M JUST KEEEE-DING!
JUST WHEN I THOUGHT I COULDN’T BE ANY MORE ATTRACTED TO SETH MEYERS 4:35 HAPPENS 💀
Stefon is that you?
1:05 wow I didn’t know Ted Moesby auditioned for SNL...
Kelly Fulton LMAO
That's what I was thinking!
hahahahahahah HIMYM for life!!
I didn’t realize Jerry Seinfeld disguised as Ted Mosby made it on 😂
That's Jimmy Fallon 😂💀
Even some of the greats like Will Ferrel, Taran Killam, Jason Sudeikis, Bill Hader and others didnt pass their first auditions but eventually got hired after they kept trying. This just shows never give up and keep trying and youll make it
Dana Carvey too
"...a scratch 'n' sniff that smells like failure and onions." If his voice sounds familiar, it's because that's a skinny and hairless Zach Galifinakis.
omg, i thought nobody noticed!!!!!!!!!
WTH 🤦🏽! Never would have recognized Zach. Thanks
Gilda Radner was fucking adorable. Also, Hader doing his Pacino is a delight. "What?! Jujyfruits? ...Always."
I can't believe they didn't hire Jim Carrey... Their loss!!!
he was better off on ILC , SNL would of held him back
Gilda is the Angel of the group to be she is like the mother hen somehow. Always in our hearts
bill looks so cute in his audition he could just walk out there and id hire him
I think people forget how talented Dana Carvey was. His audition was amazing.
My son and I occasionally sing the "chopping broccoli" song. It's just so funny -- and it's weird that we know all the words lol. Dana Carvey is a genius. Watching these auditions also made me so sad to see the late, great Phil Hartman; who left this earth way too soon. I still miss him.
3:47 is actually the greatest piece of tape that has ever existed.
