People often say he's just like Peralta and, deliberately or not, I feel like this does his acting ability a disservice, as it implicitly suggests that he only gets cast to 'play himself'. However, whenever I watch him being interviewed - despite the fact that he clearly has the fun, slightly immature sense of humour as his characters - he comes across as composed, relaxed and much more serious than you'd imagine. Clearly very committed to his craft, as any seminal comedian is (and I'd put him up there as one the seminal 00s comic figures). Would love to see him try his hand at something dramatic (think he'd fit into the MCU nicely) or even something scary, as I could imagine him playing someone with a twisted sense of humour in a horror or black comedy.
Good comedians like him who do witty/clever stuff like he does are pretty much always very smart people. I mean just look at the 99 credits, right? "Dr Goor Productions". That because Dan Goor was accepted in to medical school before he decided to go off and do comedy writing for The Daily Show. Tina Fey, Andy here, etc. etc., if you listen to them talk you can tell they're all pretty damn smart and competent.
Agreed, would've liked to see him play Ant Man, obviously Paul Rudd has done a class job but Samberg would've given it a different style which would have been interesting imo
I don't want to see him in the MCU because it's been milked so dry it's cracking. I fully agree he could be in a Fight Club esque or American Psycho type film and really pull it off.
Damn Howard I’ve been a fan since the early 90’s and as a immature adolescent you were perfect for my humor taste. Having grown you’ve taken on a whole new level of being on radio with this down to earth asking great question interviews. Keep growing man. You’re awesome
Yes I think that might be one of the biggest things I took away from it, it was one word but I bet Lorne laughed at it. The idea to do Alan Rickman at all was brilliant, and then all he says is "McClane" lol. Brilliant.
Great SNL background info. Yet, not to steal Samberg's thunder, but, that must've been the show where Farley did his "Paul McCartney interview" bit, which is actually more background.
Howard Stern often forgets he has primary sources of information directly in front of him. You might be good at researching ahead of an interview, but damn Howard, stop being so tenacious. Let your guests finish their thoughts... and believe what they say when they say it.
His nxt Move should Be a One Man show. Though I know those Aren’t as relevant these days as Before, i really feel Like he has the Comedic Presence to Pull that off. (With the Lonely Island Boys ofcourse, But Him Being the Focus) . As you could See, it’s His imagination, writing & directing that made him a stand-out Performer on Snl. just a Stand up Special would limit him, a one Man show would Allow Him to do Music, sketches, and Characters. all Elements that Make Him Great .
Alan Rickman in Die Hard as an audition impression? That's such a Jake Peralta move.
Howard asked all the right questions.
dennis as usual.
dennis he’s such a great host
he's the best at that
His Jimmy Fallon at a funeral bit made me actually LOL.
05:18
hawaiidispenser LOL me too, on a packed train

“Oh my God it’s so sad, right?”
andy samberg is underrated for his looks

He must have sold his soul to Lorne, there is NO WAY he is 40 years old
Dude but that Alan Rickman impression WAS funny. One second impression that can bring a laugh. Brilliant.
I was like "who's alan rickman" and then he did the impression, and I instantly knew it was snape.
Every SNL cast member has a Paul McCartney story, I love hearing them.
His mark wahlberg impression is spot on!
Say hello to your Mother for me.
Say hi to your mother for me
That Jimmy Fallon at a Funeral bit at 5:20 had me in stitches
Howard stern is the best in the business at making people feel comfortable and being there authentic self
“25 that’s pretty young to be on SNL”
Pete Davidson and Eddie Murphy: 👀
*sees Paul McCartney*
"I'm something of a musician myself"
im 15 and i look older than andy samberg
Damn Howard I’ve been a fan since the early 90’s and as a immature adolescent you were perfect for my humor taste. Having grown you’ve taken on a whole new level of being on radio with this down to earth asking great question interviews. Keep growing man. You’re awesome
LMAO That Alan Rickman impression! All he said was one word and that took me out! LOL Spot on! Jake Peralta would be proud.
Yes I think that might be one of the biggest things I took away from it, it was one word but I bet Lorne laughed at it. The idea to do Alan Rickman at all was brilliant, and then all he says is "McClane" lol. Brilliant.
This is why i love howard as an interviewer he asks logical sorta layman questions.
Andy Samberg is about to be 41 years old in a couple months.
Let that sink in !! Btw. Dilf
I am 30 and I feel I look older than him.
He is me in 10 years. I'm 30 and most think I'm 18-22.
"oh, hi...Beatle"
I enjoy that amount of pearl is used for the shirt buttons to be honest.... really shines!
I gotta hand it to Howard Stern. He's one of the all time great interviewers
Howard is a great interviewer
He should have a talk show or something......
My God Howard is so great. He goes so deep.
For those wondering, he started on SNL in 2005.
This is why I love Howard Stern!; He relates and empathizes with his guests.
Andy is without a doubt the best person to have ever lived. Fight me.
They gotta fight me too.
I love Andy, he’s hilarious.
His short curly hair is so damn cute , and Andy samberg is one of the funniest comedians ever
Samberg in tight shorts, my day is complete
of course he had to do a Die Hard thing in his audition
I think he couldn't be more happy when JP turned out to be a huge Die Hard fan
okay the love of my life
On point Fallon impression..
Venice Bitchh ikr
Ever since Andy Samberg was born he was DOPE (got the reference?)
I love hearing stories of cool celebrities recommending people and putting people on that’s awesome selflessness you don’t see very much these days.
The Jimmy Fallon at the funeral impression is amazing.
This is beautiful .
Murray Miller. What a name. I must know his middle name
howard stern is the greatest interviewer GOAT
Howard is the 👑 KING!
his Andy Sandberg impression is spot on!
Andy is so handsome
"I'm so out of breath, Gorbatjov's really making things hard, huh?"
So stupid and yet so fucking funny
Howard is the BEST interviewer on the planet!!!!!
"Oh, hi Beatle."
He’s come a loooooong way. :)
Great SNL background info. Yet, not to steal Samberg's thunder, but, that must've been the show where Farley did his "Paul McCartney interview" bit, which is actually more background.
Hey Andy, say hi to your mother for me.
Gottem
Peralta, you're a genius.
Oh hai, mmmBeatle?! Hilarious
By the way. Paul would've laughed at that sketch. If you know anything about the Beatles, you would know their off beat sense of humor.
Howard Stern often forgets he has primary sources of information directly in front of him. You might be good at researching ahead of an interview, but damn Howard, stop being so tenacious. Let your guests finish their thoughts... and believe what they say when they say it.
Jake peralta you are genius/amazing detective
'Oh hi Beatle!' LOL!
Such a great interview.
Ha! Turns out he did the impression for Hans Gruber....noice jake ..He should do it on Brooklyn nine nine.
4:27 "lawn"

6:07 that's a pretty standard 'th' sound
A Samberg= Luckiest man in history.
Good interview
