Thank you for being such an encouraging miniaturist! You're a patient teacher. I chuckle every time I hear you say that something is pre-K and then I look at what I'm working on and I have to laugh because every project has a pre-K stage. I've been enjoying your videos so so much!
Hi Rachael! I'm so glad to hear you are enjoying my content! The Pre -K stages of making miniatures always make me feel like i'm 10 years old again!LOLOLOL!!! I appreciate you for saying i'm a patient teacher, That truly warms my heart because that's how my Daddy was with me a "patient teacher."This comment meant alot today! Thank you for watching!
Gretchen these are the most wonderful accessories! All the bags are so darling- and realistic That leather one is spectacular! I would never even think about aging them but after you said it...of course. Can't wait to see how you do it. ❤ 😊
Thank you so much! They are so much FUN and So easy! Every time i pulled out another piece of fabric I had to do it! It's a Good thing I have more than one dollhouse! lololl! Yes, I'll just age them a little, to give them the "human" touch. So they look like the have been handled and tossed around at the Train Station! Thank you for watching!
My Dear, when your project requires a very small amount of glue put just a drop on a piece of parchment paper and use toothpicks to apply. You won’t have the problem of wasting glue or possibly adding too much to your project, making it look untidy. ( Now, I am positive that a gal like you already knew that! Please , I meant no disrespect!) Love your tutorial! Keep them coming!
Thank you C Truth! You are Exactly right, I DO I know better, Daddy taught me how to be neat and how tosparingly apply my glue with a toothpick. I apologize. Sometimes I allow "Little Gretchen" (who is my little girl self to get carried away). I pledge to keep her out of the GLUE portion on my projects going forward. Thank you for your Feedback, i appreciate you!
Most types of glue, I use business cards or water bottle tops. Squirt a little glue on a card and apply with a tooth pick. Bottle caps can be great for mixing (glue & paint etc. and the whole mess can be thrown away when you are finished.
THANK YOU TERRI I appreciate the SUGGESTION!!! Truth is I ACTUALLY have used the old business cards and toothpicks before. I have several small paint 🎨 pallettes l use for glue and paint. My excessive glue use is like a compulsion! Daddy taught me to be really neat but sometimes I just go off the rails! 🤭 Thank You for watching! 💖💖💖
Yes it makes the bag stable, so it doesn't tip over. you can make them without the stick and just use the blocks, but it has the tendency to fall over. Thank you for watching!
Thank You so much Gretchen for sharing your lovely miniature visions. 🥰 I adore these so much and what fun!! I have tons of wine corks and those lil squares and even tho I promised myself that I was going to put aside mini makes until I get this floor done, I really want to make some of these bags, they are one of those addicted miniatures that you could get carried away with bc they are so easy and quick to make.😊 Oh...you could use a tooth pick to apply the glue in tiny beads! That works for me all the time..lol😉
Yes they are so easy to make! And that is exactly what happened i started making them and i couldn't stop! Good thing I have more that one Dollhouse! LOL! I have toothpicks they just weren't nearby. LOLOLOL!I need to clear up my work area...... AGAIN! Thank you for watching!
So nice! When the video first started, I was thinking, "What is she doing?" Skeptical at first I watched as you transformed 3 cubes and part of a stick into a cute little bag. It turned out so cute! Thank you!
Thank you TinyNina76! i actually do that on purpose sometimes, To make it look as PRE -K as possible. Many times making miniatures look crazy at first! Especially things i do because I developed the techniques as a child. Thank you for watching!
I totally understand Annis! I trick myself sometimes and just say, '" All I'm gonna to is cut the fabric or cut the wood, or organize the pieces.... and before i know it it's done, well or at least started! Take the pressure out and PUT the FUN back in! Take Care!
You're right- little imperfections like lumps inside the bag do contribute to the realism! 🙂 All of the bags are lovely. I especially like the leather strips on the sides of some of the bags that make it look like there are side pockets. That seems very practical. Where do you find your nail art? I've looked around a (very) little bit in my town and haven't found anything but nail polish. Which is useful for painting miniatures that aren't made of polymer clay, but not useful for making buckles and rivets. 😄
LOL! No Worries i have done that before too! I used to do nails in my 1st life(when My children were little)LOLOL!) I had a surplus of leftover stuff and realized it is great size and scale for miniatures, so I restocked! Even that tiny piece of "snakeskin" was from an old nail art package! I'm glad you are enjoying this series! i'm having so much Fun sharing it!
LOL! THANKS PEGGY! Funny part I used to DO nails so I always kept my nails pretty! I craft much NOW it's a struggle trying to keep my nails nice! I laughed and got so tickled and when i realized how PERFECT Nail Art was for Miniatures! I mean it has t fit on "pinky nail," of course it will work! Plus a little goes a long way! ENJOY!
Well, this is an opportunity to say how very nice your nails always look. I've often wondered how you keep them so beautiful while making your beautiful little treasures!
Hi AMY! Welcome to LITTLE GRETCHEN'S WORKSHOP! I'm so glad to have you here as One of My Precious DOLLS!!! I Appreciate You ,thank you for watching and being a part of my journey!
Yes! that would definitely work well if you an ample amount of fabric to go around it. A little batting will definitely give your bag a fuller look! I was using scraps and remnants so I didn't have any extra to spare! LOLOLOLOL!!
Welcome to Little Gretchen's Workshop Sandy!I'm so Glad you have chosen to become one of my precious DOLLS! There should be an Amazon link in the description. But Its the leather/suede cording used to make necklaces and jewelry. It can also be found in jewelry making section of most craft stores. Thank you for being here!
