Thanks for the long beauty shots @ the end ... you can almost feel the smooth hard finish ... Looks just great ! With the LONG ordering wait on any furniture in stores --- JRV is the option ! That's a win--win all around.👍
Oh…loving this color ! Love the white waxed pulls…. Fabulous !!! You have this technique down to a FINE ART guys!!! The paint you wiped back Jami on the mirror frame was / IS perfect !! Love watching you work your magic on these pieces!! 💛💛🥰💛💛
I just watched your live yesterday asking if white wax would give the same effect as the white paint in the details. I see how easy you achieved the two tone look on this dresser! It's what Bob would call "A happy little accident " 😊 Love it! ❤
I just love Gustavian technique! Meanwhile, UA-cam changed my bell to ‘Personalized’ and I didn’t even know you did a video until I saw it in your Facebook group. SIGH!
Hi Jamie Ray, I have a question for you… So many of your old videos or older videos you are using sweet Pickens milk paint… Just wonder why you switch or why you prefer this general finishes milk paint now? There are so many milk paints out there. I am just wondering. ☺️ Thank you in advance !
I want the exact amount of chippy as in this video. So I do not have to add any extra bond but do a normal diy on the base coat and a milk paint on the top coat? Nothing else to get that look? As far as paint goes, not the finish.
The paint we use doesn’t need anything. That dresser was in our shop for a long time and had lots of stuff on top of it moved around etc and it held up great
I am so new to milk paint… not painting I have been doing this for 30+ years! But I am lost on mile paint. So if I use diy on the first layer of paint with salt wash, then mix the milk paint and paint that on I will not get a chippy look? I didn’t see any chippy on this piece? And did see you use any extra bond to not chip??? Help!
It was farmhouse finishes which doesn’t chip as much. We got some chipping but not a lot which I am ok with. If you watch the video from waste not Wednesday this week we did a similar technique but got more chipping.
I don’t know, for some reason this one doesn’t do it for me. I don’t like the salt wash, the color combo or the pulls. I wish I did, sorry. You guys do great work, though! I like most of what you do.
The colour on this is spot on. Gold star for the Rays -again! ⭐️

Love the new antiqued dresser. Your box of peanuts from my order is the favorite toy for my two year old.
Haha. Just don’t get the peanuts wet they are biodegradable and they get sticky lol

how many hours/materials? what would this piece sell/sold for?
Sells for $400.00-600.00 on pieces like this. More if they have to be shipped. We spent about 4 hours making it over and around $50.00 in materials

Yes that’s the formula. And we wet distressed. No sanding.
Love how this turned out. I see that u waxed the handles...doesn't it rub off? Or did u spray with a clear coat.
It will cure and be fine.
What was done to prepare for paint !?!

Thumbs up, if you’re viewing this video. They show you how to achieve the Gkustavian Technique.
Looks great Jamie & Zeb! I have a Question - where do you get your faux lavender plants?

What happened to the inlays?
We didn’t get the look we wanted so we scrapped it
Gorgeous! I love the color. I can't believe you only paid $40 for that.
What’s the name of the the finish that you are going for?
Gustavian
Love
Hiya I’ve just started upcycling furniture but I’ve found that there’s no money in it here in uk
😊👍
Love everything you do, but I wish you gave your steps a little bit slower more detail. Thank you
We will next time for sure. This was a crazy week and we filmed as much as we could.
