    Great video. Now I can just leave a link. It's been a lot to try to explain all that as folks want to know why I recommend the EBMX battery vs others, so I just say the others are pretty much DIY; the battery I can make you is just as good as the others. The EBMX battery is in another class.

      Ehhhh if one actually lit up you (and they) would definitely know about it. They are saying the runaway should mostly stay contained within the casing compared to other brands which might blow out the sides earlier. But if it did happen, hopefully you can get to it when it is smoking and before it becomes a flame torch. Eg. you could use gloves etc. to get it out of your bike / garage and to an external area to then be managed (not official advice, don't approach burning packs). I have not heard of this happening to anyone.

      Hey Jim,
      These cells have a very low internal resistance so they run MUCH cooler than cylindrical cells

    • @BrunoPOWEEER
      @BrunoPOWEEER Рік тому +1

      @@joem8601 every battery should be extremely waterproof, specially cylindrical cells as they’re steel case and rust pretty quickly with any moisture inside the pack. You’re riding the battery was warm then you left it charging (much lower current than when you’re riding) so your battery cooled down and if not potted, it probably absorbed moisture from that very wet marine air.
      Pouch cells are vacuum sealed aluminium foil with external plastic coasting, these survive much better if moisture is present (and the battery isn’t potted).
      Usually marine moisture is very corrosive too so try to give a quick rinse over the bike after exposing in scenarios like that otherwise lots of steel parts will start to rust (even stainless steel parts as they’re all 304 and not 316 marine grade stainless). Cylindrical cells are regular steel

    • @BrunoPOWEEER
      @BrunoPOWEEER Рік тому +3

      @@christianwagner6244 Hey Christian!! Thaaaanks for this really nice and positive comment mate and asking about very interesting technical details =]
      •Pressure vent valve on the battery case: this is extremely important on non-potted devices where there’s a lot of “lose and free air” inside the battery case and the pressure significantly varies when the internal case temperature increase and decrease. This is a 95% (maybe 97%) fully potted battery so there’s pretty much zero air inside this battery case.
      •Internal cell pressure: pouch cells have an internal vacuum, no air inside (Lithium chemical reacts to the water present in the air) so inside the cells you only have separators, chemicals, minerals like copper, aluminium etc and electrolyte solution. In this case the stainless box (+ fibreglass and potting) gives the structural/mechanical and external protection to the pouch cells. Cells shouldn’t breathe, this would introduce air and moisture inside and rapidly damage the cells. Cells are completely sealed for a reason. Depending on the cell (form-factor and brand) you can slightly smell “electrolyte” vapour when opening the battery case that isn’t potted. Premium pouch cells are very very different to cheap pouch cells (RC and what you find inside most electronic devices).
      Anyway, thanks for your comment mate… so much POWEEEEEER ohh yeahh!!
