I was a abalone diver for more than 20 years all of my harvest ended up in Macau Hong Kong this documentary was really interesting I don't know if the Yarsagumbu trade rivals that of abalone but In a lucrative business I know what it means to be at the bottom of the food chain

I agreed the last lines . How would the young kids survive tomorrow. Risking lives looking for yarsa kumbu in the high mountain, that for a long long month isn't a joke. So much full of fun and entertainment at the same time is quite amazing.., 🤠

I have been eating Yarsagumbu in Nepal and in Thailand . It boosts your immune system and general energy level. There was a fight for the money in one of their Nepali villages and 17 people were dead. In Bhutan the market is regulated, they auction it once a year and there are less problems for the money. It is a hell of a money for them, like for the Sherpa's going up on the Everest.
I feel bad for the kid to see his father loosing in gamble and paying thier hard earn yarsagumba. Not a good part of a father gambling it.
I also get into it 30 years a go in langtang for just fun.As a new person i collect 15 of it ,cooked it in yak milk and drink it.i fell its a very good energy drink .

Someone please teach these people to raise the insects these grow from. The mountains they pick. From already have the fungus, they just need to make sure there’s enough of the insect 🙏
Actually, that style will not work. They tried many times to farm and control the production, but failed.
Because first, Ghost Moths aren't commonly found anywhere. Then, the particular fungus wasn't surviving in lower altitudes. Thirdly, the idea you have will take out living for those poor Tibetans who rely on them for their source of living.

Betting and alcohol cause great sorrow for some of these families who worked so hard under harsh conditions. My heart goes out to these wives and children who have no say.
Sad to see the contrast at the end between the very rich in Hong Kong and the mushroom pickers in filthy clothes, risking their lives for a few dollars.

It’s nonsense, of course, that this has medicinal properties but I suppose it helps these poor Nepalese to earn a living.
If you believe in it very Strong your Mind will do the Change and not Yarsagumbu.
