  • A great research documentary on the extreme depths of the Mariana Trench and the mind blowing unseen sea creatures. Very well narrated documentary by David Attenborough. The Mariana Trench or Marianas Trench is located in the western Pacific Ocean about 200 kilometers east of the Mariana Islands; it is the deepest oceanic trench on earth. The maximum known depth of Marian Trench is 10,984 meters however, some unrepeated measurements place the deepest portion at 11,034 meters.
This NHK documentary is all about the facts and under water life in the deepest sea floor at about 8KM to 10KM below the water level. A hair-raising film on the descent into the Mariana Trench where water exerts a pressure of 1,086 bars (15,750 psi) and the temperature is between 1 to 4 °C (34 to 39 °F).

I quite agree that Sir David Attenborough is the leading natural world documentarian. The documentaries that he has produced have educated generations of people about the world around us. Nevertheless, it is worth pointing out that this particular production was not produced by him, but by a team from NHK of Japan. Doesn't anyone bother to read the credits? That said, this English language version of the NHK produced documentary most certainly goes up quite a few notches for having Sir David narrate it.

Fascinating! If only the background music was a bit softer and low.. it marred the narration so much.

@@droneon01 The scientists in this videos deserve more respect don't you think? Must be very annoying to study you a** off for some dumbo to come claim their work is fake because his/her tiny brain cannot comprehend it. And on top of that, writing it on the internet! One of the wonders of mathematics and modern science, the irony! When your head hurts and you take an aspirin remember, it is all fake, don't take it!

This is a truly awe inspiring documentary. It reinforces just how little we know about this fantastic planet that we are so hellbent on destroying. I fail to understand how anybody can not be blown away by the sheer variety and adaptability of life on Earth.

🤣 yep hell bent on destroying it just by trying to live a life in a modern way 🙄 morons like you are what's wrong with today's people. Civilisations from centuries ago/thousands of years ago lived in ways they thought were best suited just as we do, nobody intentionally tries to destroy the planet we have just evolved to a time we use modern technology. Your on here complaining yet how do you charge the device that your on here writing? What's the outcome of that .. how's that power generated where was all that material generated from.

Staring into the sun may make you blind.. poor these fish who never saw proper light in their life and suddenly this light was down there enough to burn out their eyes receptors and go blind.. not that it seemed like they had any eyesight to start with.. but still!
