For 35 years ,Bob Hertwig in Hamburg has been at the forefront of pre-ww2 German dance band recordings and he has supplied me with many wonderful recordings-he used to issue year Bobsets from the 1920,s to the 40,s with interesting 78 transfers on cassette but nowadays the cd is still king despite people predicting its demise.
I have decided for awhile to do the year themes as well as German and British music posts. It's much harder to do the German posts by year since my German music collection is limited. Great to hear from you and hope you are having a good summer Elizabeth.
Thank you for posting, been a fan of your channel for some time....finally the long overlooked fine German dance bands...how about more of Schuricke,Leander,Heidberg etc...next time? Xx
One of the songs in this selection has Rudi Schuricke in it. There is also some with him in it in my earlier post from a couple months before this. I have a limited number of German dance band sides but will be uploading more. Thank you for watching the channel.
I wonder why people in Europe(both in western and eastern) loved Latin tango-like music so much in that time. I prefer american "jazz band" style. Nevertheless, thank you for the selection.

It's good to find you returning to this theme, Bob -- I enjoyed this German installment as much as the first, particularly 1, 5, 6 and 7.
