My wife's grandmother sadly has increasingly advanced dementia and I went looking for music from her youth as studies show it can have therapeutic value. As she grew up in pre-war Silesia I thought it was a bit of a long shot but here we are. Thank you for this collection- I'm sure she'll like it and I'm thoroughly enjoying listening myself!
A very nice set of melodies that makes me to wish those gone musical times should stay along time, allowing to enjoy music for normal people instead the accoustical mess that actually dominates musical spectrum commonly heard everywhere. Thanks a lot for give us the chance of enjoying those delicious play back
German bands have been unfairly overlooked by many music lovers of the inter-war 1926-39 electric era for many decades but now are far better served and much better understood due to crisp transfers with many great cd issues, the commercial efforts of folks like Bob Hertwig in the 1980,s on and of course You Tube.
What a wonderful selection ! So glad I found this amazing channel! Can't wait to introduce it to my 87 yrs old uncle....he's a veteran musician for the RAF Central Band who absolutely loves this eras music ! Massive thanks to the uploader and channel creator !! 🙂👍
Hi Bob. This is just so good. Right up my street so to speak. Just loving it all. Best wishes from our lovely little boutique city Wellington. And it's a lovely calm clear sunny spring morning here and I am having a early morning cup of coffee in bed listening to this catchy music.
This selection is smashing! Arrangements are consistently refined and elaborate. A fabulous bunch of orchestras this is. I already knew most of them, but it is always a treat to hear new recording and this set is exceptional. Thanks so much for sharing these treasures.
Henri de Lagardère did us the big favour of adding all titles... they are mentioned above :-) I suspect a couple of them are English translations but sadly, it is almost impossible to track them down, sorry. However, most are German or at least of European origin.
As the names of the songwriters already indicate, all, with the notable exception of _Hm Hm,_ which is of Czech origin, were written by German songsmiths. There are no English-language versions that I'd know of.
Pax41 Music Time Machine I have no complaints about the Germans but I can sure see a lot of bad eggs from Russia in the past and in America and in Britain and in a number of other countries when we go back in time and to say Obamas time Who was rotten eggs also
@@pax41 heyaaah, Bob! it would be a pleasure but it may take some time because I'm busy at the moment freshly returned from Italy but I appreciate it so much that you also play german music of "that" aera because I have the feeling that still a lot of people think that the Germans then were uncivilized "huns" in bringing war over Europe I am a historic researcher and if you knew the real reasons you would HATE Poland and Britain !!!
My mother went to see.the.Olympic Games in Berlin in 1936.She loved Berlin and the nightlife and enjoyed dancing to music such as this tune.

Fine selection. Like the musical arrangements a lot.
Thank you for sharing.
You are always welcome Walter.
Wunderbar!
Glad you liked it Larry. How are you doing there in the Carolinas? All safe and sound and high and dry?
This set is utterly enchanting! My favorites are Morgenwind and Komm doch in meine Arme -- very smooth, lovely stuff!
Not bad either: ua-cam.com/video/2BYYx3Qy_vc/v-deo.html

"Wo die Strandpromenade zu Ende geht" seems to be a relative of "Pardon Me Pretty Baby."
As always, a lovely selection. I think at first hearing my favorites were Hm, Hm and Warum Hat der Napoleon.
Good taste, those are my favorites too.
more like this please!
Hope to do another one within a month.
Happy October to you from your NZ friend ...

Germans really had a way with popular music! So sad they had so many other problems in their culture!
I know. But then they decided to be very good at something and started to produce very fine cars. Regards from Holland.
Not really. Their culture has always been good.
@@markluth2070 I would agree with the exception of a few bad eggs.
