Mind Pump is my favorite fitness podcast and I found myself subscribing to the youtube channel as well. Just got back to working out after some years away from it and as a 51 year old man I find these discussions and demonstrations very valuable I wish I knew how to structure a routine better based on what equipment I have (just barbell cheap set of 100lbs, dumbells 5-35 lbs and bands).
Great bodyweight option is to do forward lunge, followed by backwards lunge, and then an air squat. Then repeat on other leg. That's x1 rep. Do x50 reps of this and see how you get on!
I like to do back step lunges because I find that they put less stress on the knees, and I just focus on keeping the weight over the mid foot rather than keeping my body entirely vertical in order to target the quads over the glutes.
Great! Additional Thanks for tips :-)What if I do both with a kettlebell put a bit forward (for better core activation)? Is it ok? or could it be harmful?
anyone remember the type of training where you train 2 or 3 times a day, he brought it up on one of his podcasts, but manage your sets and reps. Suppose to be for good for CNS?
Hi Sal, I loved your "30 days of Training" that you offered your YT followers in 2018. It was such valuable information. Would you be open to recording an updated version? Things may have changed over the years.Thank you! 🌺
My 35 year old son has been following your programs since the fall of 2022. He’s been pushing me to get on board. I’m there now!! I use to be a track athlete and skinny. In my 30’s and early 40’s I was a jogger. Now I’m 54 years old, 264lbs and a huge belly. I have BAD knees (plus osteoarthritis), and VERY tight quads and hamstrings, after recovering from a torn ACL, MCL and meniscus last year. I’ve been trying to do body weight lunges, while holding onto the tv stand, but I struggle to get any depth to the lunges (or squats). Is that okay? Or am I wasting my time with that exercise? Are there alternate ways to get effective results from my lunges?
Lunges made such a difference in the shape of my legs. Body weight lunges are so effective!!
I really like the videos where you breakdown particular exercises, they are very helpful for a novice like me!

Have you tried their maps anabolic program? It’s phenomal. It has both a gym and a home version you can do with dumbbells
Home version was clutch during lockdown.
Finally lost enough weight that I can safely do lunges. Going to have some fun with this. Thanks for the vid!
I am a newly graduated PT but your content is so helpful, I find it very useful . Thanks alot
Just started rockin lunges not to long ago, great excercise with alot of real world movement

Yeah lunges are a beast. I will take a break from video editing and circle around the house lunging. Keep ‘em coming Sal!
Loved the tip of avoiding alinging the legs
very clear informations you're given.
The lunge variation where you focus on hip extension can also be used to focus on hamstring activation
Great video 🔥🔥
Back lunges are my favorite❤️🔥❤️🔥
I'm building strength at the moment to eventually do barbell lunges. Thanks for the explanations
You got this!

Thank you sir👊🏼 I did not know that

How can you modify if you knee won't bend down that far?
I hate lunges.. hate em… I do them… but I hate them
Keep getting pain in my right knee cap when it is the supporting leg by my 5th bodyweight lunge 😥
What about walking lunges?

I used the smith machine for the lunges yesterday, still sore.
Why would you use a stationary machine for an exercise that involves moving forward and back
I definitely have balance issues because of trying to line up my feet. Thank you for tip on how to avoid that.
I love the videos and podcast episodes you guys post. Became a mindpump fan after a few shows and I've never learned so much about fitness.
Thank you! Very clear
wow youve put on some size man
Any benefits to doing a front foot raised variation? Would this active more of the glute?

Howdy fellow di Stefano! I’ve only ever met 2 other di stefano’s in my life!
When you did the back lunge, you said to step out to get a solid base. Is that also applicable to the forward lunge?
I can’t believe this channel hasn’t got more subs
I wish you could go over how to do them when you feel like your knees will give out.
Dam.... sal... looking swell..💪💪💯👍
Didn't know the difference between stepping forward or backwards. Thanks! Always learning from your videos!!
