    Born & raised in a Rochester suburb, I've always loved these guys! In my opinion, they were never the same band after Don Maracle left, but I've got all their albums & I just love 'em all!

    Drummer Dave Corcoran on lead vocal on this song, one that he wrote. Dave had such a ballsy, bluesy voice!

    I remember it being on MTV a LOT is why it seemed popular. I grew up near Rochester. Greg married my wife's cousin Marcie (for a year anyhow) and played at the wedding, which was very cool. Late 80's or more likely the early 90's.

    Duke Jupiter opened for Shooting Star in 1982 in Cincinnati at an old theater downtown. After the concert, that theater was demolished. It was a beautiful place but old... awesome concert!

    They opened for B.O.C. in Fayetteville Ark in ????? 1985? My friends were all punkers and didn't dig BOC. My Gfriend didn't either. Damnit I went by myself to that show!

    I get you, maybe in 1984 MTV hadn't quite usurped radio as the main driver of record sales...

    Would it be too much to ask that iTunes puts this album up for sale?

  • @Veaseify
    @Veaseify 11 років тому

    Nah, apparently their biggest 'hit' was something else -
    "I'll Drink to You" (1982) #58 US
    "Little Lady" (1984) #68 US
    "Rescue Me" (1984) #101 US
    Maybe Little Lady got played a lot on the radio where you were but it wasn't a hit nationally..

    This one sounds a little like Eddie Money on rhe high notes.

    They were always dismissed as a glorified bar band and did absolutely nothing sales wise, its amazing they made 7 or 8 albums when the highest chart position was 122. It sounds like I'm putting them down but I'm just giving the facts.

      I saw Don Maracle playing at Frisco Railyard today and that man has tone for days! The only other person to truly hurt my soul with his playing and sound was Hubert Sumlin. I had no idea who he was until after the show when I started researching. Incredible musician!
