The rats that find lost items are such a great SCP. Not everything has to be a world-ending threat or paradimensional horror; sometimes it can just be some well-coordinated rodents who want lunch.
completely agree, it was surprisingly wholesome
@@JonathanRodriguez-nz9nw Zyn's entries are usually wholesome
I need them so bad. I'd feed them for life
I'd like it if they were more mysterious and less anthropomorphized. The banging vacuum cleaners into a door to knock lost me. If it was just regular rats somehow compelled to drag a lost item back to you it would feel like an SCP not a bedtime story
Would love to see them become an MTF of some kind, recruiting way more rats for the purposes of returning certain SCP's, specifically nonviolent ones or items.
I have chosen to believe that at least 1 of the O5 counsel is Franky or his offspring.
Just a bunch of mysterious, sharply dressed people sitting at a table, with an equally dapper rat at the end in a tiny chair
What about Iroh Silverton being promoted to a position of Senior Researcher or Consulting Analyst?
@@alexanderzhmurov9624 i wonder if he culd find SCPs that vanished or got lost in some way.
Every O5 looks very weird so a rodent would fit right in.
One of the O5’s was a golden retriever so why not a rat
@@Lyth13 probably like one of them is a baby in a vat, one is an eye on a screen, one's a faceless monster in a suit, one might not even exist, one probably has like 5 arms, ......
I love how it shows family friendly images of cartoonish rats whilst explaining how a man is being torn apart by rats exiting his body.
Come to think of it, the cooking rat from Ratatouille would probably be an SCP
...yeah now I want the rat cooking off against SCP 5031
Damn it! Then they* would definitely "contain" it though...
that's unfortunate...would have to petition with the _Wanderer's Library_
Yet another monster comparison
Ratatoing would be more anamolous
Ratatouille is my favorite mecha anime.
Ah yes Ratatouvangelion
"These employees will appear as a variety of fancy rat, all driving or directing an autonomous robotic vacuum cleaner." I think I have a new favorite SCP.
I like the first one a lot. I've never had one myself but one of my friends had a pet rat and he was the cutest little thing ever. They really are better than most people think.
Weasels too!
I've always wanted one but they don't live very long and my heart couldn't take it
They constantly drag their genitals and leave trails of urine.
@@tsoliot5913 Used to have pet rats and can verify. Big dangly balls and a little trail of pee everywhere
I have had several rats as pets (always girls cuz they're calmer and live better in a group) and they are so smart and just love attention.
Just when you think the SCP universe can’t get anymore weird and random this is posted. Which is one of the many reasons I love this channel.
That is a fatal mistake in this multiverse you must always expect and anticipate the weirdest of the weird
It’s always growing.
doesn't read source > assumes knowledge!
Don't get me wrong, I haven't read every last wiki entry, but I don't post stupid comments
@@phutureproof nope, just ended up looking like a phucking doosh, much better look.
Weird and random are to be expected in the SCP universe. Its the normal and everyday stuff that happens in our world is happening in the SCP universe that need to be look out for. Cause you never know whats lurking behind the sceen.
That first one is giving me serotonin surges. And it's so fitting. After all some rodents like the giant African rat are actually used to search for explosives in the ground etc. Pretty cool!
They find people too. Such smart and social animals
It gave me joy too
We all know damn well those rats glued that coffee mug back together because THATS customer service at its finest
That last one was great.
I really like the idea of watching the Foundation struggle to contain a new SCP in real time.
Ya... plus classic body horror
See, this was the one that made me check out for a little while. I was like, nope, nope, I’m good, I don’t need to hear this right now. I agree that the real-time aspect was really cool. Skipped ahead a bit and listened to the end. For some reason, hair/fur in the mouth/food makes me super nauseous, and I was in the car. >XD
The first one is adorable. I like it a lot. Clearly someone who loved rats wrote that one! 🥰 So wholesome!
The Frankie one definitely must have also been written by a rat lover
The first one is SO FREAKING CUTE! I was going “AWWWWW” through the whole thing. I love it!
I quit honestly find any of the scps as anything but adorable 😍❤️
Yeah, I imagined tiny rats in hazard suits riding their vacuum cleaners. And my heart is melting 😂😂
First one is wholesome. I wonder what the rat finders do with the money? buy more food?
Hookers and cocaine obviously
Pimp their vacuums of course. They do street races at night, the squeak circuit or some such.
I think the implication was about them somehow being able to legitimately buy those roombas... I don't know how they manage it though without the Broken Masquerade scenario being engaged... I know I would begin questioning my reality if I was selling roombas and some fancy rats showed up to by my product... actually if they showed up for any reason and stated acting all fancy and unexpectedly pleasant... I mean if I was a rat I wouldn't hold humans in any such high regard...
@@alexanderzhmurov9624 tfw you sell a vacuum to 200 rats in a trench coat
@@alexanderzhmurov9624 I thought it said all the vaccums were legitmently bought but discarded?
I love that in a few articles a background character is/was most likely anomalous and goes on with their life. Silverton was probably anomalous and passed away without even knowing it. What a Chad.
I'm gonna take this opportunity to tell all of you about the "Redwall" series. Look it up, written by Brian Jacques and it is probably one of the best fantasy series in history. It's a series about small animals living as medieval entities amongst the wider world.
Further more, almost all of the artwork in this video could have been taken from Redwall.
I used to watch the animated series as a wee lad
I absolutely love redwall. My high school librarian hero mended it to me when in told her I love Watership down. And just like that an obsession was born, still in the process of buying all the books.
The picture at 34:20 is the great feast featured in the beginning of redwall, you can see Jess squirrel, and constance the badger on one side of the table, and abbot mortimer telling one of his stories while the dibbons steal candied chestnuts next to him.
Looking at all these images in this video kept reminding me of those books, I think I read every single one of them in middle school
I love the lost and found rats. The list of their payments somehow got funnier and cuter for each one.
"and the Foundation could benefit with a Franky in every lab" he concludes, turning to slip a treat to his favorite pet rat
I feel as if the first SCP could be very beneficial to the foundation. Helping recover lost SCPs as well as other items to help its cause.
Ya could help recover safer SCPs or one unharmful to animals
@@dragonlord498 that could easily be harmful too though. Just imagine a rat running at full speed toward you to return a teacup that kills anyone within 2 meters. Like they HAVE to return it. You HAVE to accept it. That'd be a fun SCP story though.
@@justadude2377 That would imply that the SCP in question had been lost, which means the death of a single researcher is likely price they would be willing to pay to retrieve it.
@@Elmithian True but if the Rat's path to the containment block was populated. That's where the death toll racks up.
Could find that bag of Banana Pills
I am so glad you went with the Nice Mice Fantasy pictures over some freaky swarms of death rats! Thank you!
I think this is the only video of this channel that I watched all of the art, they were so darn cute
What? You didn't want pictures of the typhoid rats from MTG? 😂 I totally agree
I mean there's probably at least one pic where it's drawn cutely, especially if there's a degree of anthropomorphization in their posture (think Remy from Ratatouille)
* Vietnam flashbacks of Dishonored
Wow thanks never got (almost) 100 likes !
“Ranging from lovable rats that help you find your lost keys to rats that help you lose your internal organs” might be the funniest thing I’ve ever heard
In my personal canon, SCP-6369 (the first one) was written by a bunch of rats in a trenchcoat.
I read a story about some Rats like the lost and found service and it was so very nice. In the story the Rats would come out from the blowing of a whistle and then they would do whatever they could to help the person who blew the whistle. They could be rewarded by food or other compensation and the best part of the story is that it followed a family for a few generations and eventually the Rats wound up saving a little girl from a horrible situation involving kidnapping and neglect.
That sounds lovel! do you remember the name?
@@elektra81516 sorry it's been years since I read that story it was in a novella that had about fifty pages at most and the whole story followed the whistle more than the people involved. It sounds kinda funny but the story was not focused on any specific character until the part where it saved the life of the little girl. I loved the story and I read it around the same time that I first read the chronicles of Narnia and it was something that made me feel better after the ending of that series. I'm kinda over how the entirety of Narnia and the main characters died except for the eldest daughter but that story was recommend to me by a teacher. I didn't grow up in a huge town or anything but I did have books available to me that I have never seen anywhere else and I have been all over the world. Years ago there was a forum where people who were looking for anime, books, etc that they don't actually know the name of would go to try and find out what they were but I don't think that site still exists. I have been doing my best to rewrite the entire story because it was so beautiful and I thought it should be shared but I have lost my progress on the story many times. I have been trying to find an answer to the question of what a special anime I only saw once and only the first episode. That anime followed a guy in college who had just been rejected by a girl for the thirtieth time during a special festival that is supposed to grant wishes. He gets home and his female cat is at the door waiting to be let in and he tells her that he will have food for her ready soon. After asking her about her day then they show a flashback of him being rejected by the girl then he heads to a Shrine and ties a wish written on paper to a branch. He is reflecting on his day and then his cat starts to meow and meow at him he tries to figure out what she's wanting and eventually gives up. At that point he tries to go to sleep and he is kinda fitful and can't sleep then suddenly he hears a female voice saying "then a dog chased me and almost nocked me off the bridge but I was able to get away from it." The guy says who's there is that a ghost? The cat responds no silly it's me. The guy is really freaking out at this point and checks out all around his apartment and doesn't find anything. He hears his cat asking him what he was doing and then while he sees her mouth moving. He passes out by the front door and then wakes up on his bed with the covers over him and something heavy on his body. He's not sure what is going on and opens up the covers and finds himself in bed with a nude cat girl. (You never see anything) but he freaks out again and then she wakes up and they finally figure out that they both made a wish for the same thing at the same time and then you see his wish being blown away by the wind. I don't know anything more about it but it was very funny and a little echi but cute too. I will continue to rewrite the story and I'll the to let you know about it when I get it done. Sorry about the long winded story but I'm still looking for some stuff that Noone seems to know about ever.
At last! Time for some well-earned spotlights for the little mice and rats.
Ratatouille?
Love the first one I could see them working In 3 Portland’s.
Ah, a bit of Skaven lore, yes-yes?
SCPs are always so interesting to me like some of them are just pure demonic hellspawn set on exterminating all life on earth and then some of them are just cute little mice that wanna help you find your lost car keys lmao
So thankful I randomly stumbled upon this channel 3 years ago. I look forward to these videos as much as Mr Ballin's
You've seen _TheVolgun_ by now, of course, I presume?
Eastside Steve is fun. He reports in universe style.
Mr. Ballens Missing 411 series is my favorite one from his.
Using nice pics of rats is very much appreciated. The poor buggers have a bad enough reputation as it is despite their intelligence, loyalty, playfulness and sheer cuteness. Gambian pouched rats (about the size of a cat when full grown and are saving lives every day)... now they're for the nutters (amongst which I include my self ;P)
These pictures look like RedWall/Mouse Guard and im here for it
Rodent lost and found must be a worker co-op or unionised at the very least. They really know their rights.
The last one was surprisingly eerie with a great hook at the end.
I'm only on the first one right now, but it was really heartwarming as somebody who recently lost a very loved fancy rat :') Didn't know I needed a rat SCP, but I am very glad I found it.
Fandom: He's an SCP (Points to a cat), he's an SCP (Points to a dog), you're an SCP? (Points to the sea), I'M AN SCP (Meta/Pataphysics)!!! Are there any other SCP's i should know about???
Rats: Squeak!
Fandom:...i'm outta here!
(No, but really, didn't see this type of video coming, i would like to see more animal type SCP's related videos in the future)
I still recall fondly that one cat...
Rats, rats, we are rats.
I thought the rats taking cheese as payment for finding lost objects was so funny 😂
The rat crawling up the guy's leg to pull his lost wrench out of his pocket is just about the cutest thing imaginable to me rn
Redwaaaaaallllll! Woo. Takes me back to my childhood. Something to make me smile on my way to a night shift.
A fantastic addition to the series to listen to while being a scuttling rodent hunting for a snack in the late hours of the night
He's just trying really hard to find something. Be patient. He's new.
The last is made funny with the endearing images of anthropomorphized mice
ETA: help you find keys, or help you lose organs LMAO
Rats rats, we are the rats. I always love these "anthology" videos
Scp: 985-J
Object class: Giant
Special containment procedures: none, he makes all of the rules
Description: rat rat he is the rat.
Redwall! One of my favorite book series!
*Chews on warpstone as this plays*
Love your work as always, thank you for making these little doorways into the many worlds of SCP and beyond.
Check out Mouse Guard too, it's adorable!
Did you just say "Iroh" for the name of that first coordinator rat friend? Absolutely perfect. XD
I miss my rats. I had two girls, Cosmo & Wanda and they were absolutely the sweetest girls. They loved traveling with me about the house doing chores in the hood of my hoody.
*SCP-1555* ...possibly one of the strangest, oddest I've heard of, recently at least...
18:48... just... how..?!! 🤨🤔🤨🤔 dimensionally compressed mice..?
19:01... alive..? One hopes...
One of the best channels!! Thank you for all that you do!
There's also _TheVolgun,_ but he has a rather more "in-universe" approach to his storytelling ...quite good too in my opinion
(And there's a ton of others too these days that make shorter videos ...I guess people's attention spans are shortening...perhaps it's another SCP?!?)
i just read 6369 a few days ago and i love it so much man such a cute little story
click on the article and look at the picture!
I absolutely love the first and last ones for the complete opposite reasons
Not me going to read SCP-6369’s document and crying from how cute it is
Rats are the lowliest and most despised of all creatures, my love. If they have a purpose, so do we all.
-Taika Waititi
SCP in the high 6000s: D'awww, so wholesome and cute.
SCP in the double digits: OH MY F***ING GOD MAKE IT STOP.
The SCP Foundation in a nutshell, ladies and gentlemen.
Love this! Own 2 sweet rats myself
Maybe it's a regulated substance for them.
@@hutternen or it was one of Silverton's allergies and they're honoring his memory?
I've heard citrus fuits are toxic to male rats and can give them cancer. Don't know if it's true tho.
@@ScienceCat98 certainly hope not 😭
Hi co-author of the article here! If you have female rats its not a problem to give your rats citrus fruits. But for males it can indeed cause cancer. That's why we decided to not accept it as payments ^^
That asterisk at the beginning lol, now I wanna see some skaven hordes haha
This is from hard won experience as a gardener and amateur horticulturalist who has a massive fly infestation she can't get rid of. We like to think of our homes as being separate from nature. So we kill everything unwanted that comes inside, crushing it, spraying it with poisons, sending cats after it. But what we don't understand is that mother nature doesn't descriminate between humans, our things or homes, and the rest of the planet. We're all animals to her. And our homes are prime territory for pests, because we're the only ones in here. We kept other animals out, and so there are no predators. It's nice and warm. There's plenty of food. And plenty of material to make a nest from. We tend not to notice the smaller animals around us, unless they become a bother to us. By then it's usually too late. As one permaculture book in my collection once put it, "you don't have a slug problem, you have a deficiency of ducks."
You might like SCP-4043!
The ending is pretty uplifting, at least I felt so... transcendental (?) even...
Not sure though how you'd feel about _Cascadia_ (SCP-6005) though...
a bit sad,
typically following the _"humans destroy what they don't understand/don't improve of/can't control"_ scheme/formula...
but with a possibly (?) good ending...but a bit revenge-y in that way...
Indeed, I know what you mean, and I've always felt like we should've designed our cities
(and homes, there's so much to improve about modern home designs! It's really quite absurd that Kira work isn't being put in actively changing how we live in terms of our housing(crisis))
better,
with ((long-term)ecological/environmental) integration* in mind...
(why I believe we should spent more time and effort on colonizing space, frankly we just might, finally, learn some habits about taking care of our home(s)!)
or at least get more suitable to the job pets like lizards and such...
maybe spend some time on researching ways to coexist with spiders...
I know, not a popular subject for most,
but I've spend quite a bit of time wondering about it, pretty much every time I see a spider...
@@alexanderzhmurov9624 i coexist with spiders. they remove the flies for free. XD as for the type of homes you described. I suggest getting a subscription to Mother Earth News magazine. It's less than 20$ usd a year, six issues. LOTS of green or off the grid or sustainable living projects. I've seen plenty of designs for cabins, homes, sheds, greenhouses. might give you some ideas.
@@alexanderzhmurov9624 If 4043 is Gaia then I've seen it. I've also seen Cascadia.
@@alexanderzhmurov9624 oh yeah, I've seen 4043. my mom actually liked that one. she's kinda picky about scps.
I almost got concerned when i didn't get your weekend upload notification.
When I first read the field mice SCP, I initially assumed that the guy trapped in the wire was going to come out of the tube as a mouse himself.
I assumed the same when I read it
ah but that wuld make sense and the entire point of the exploration log seems to be how nonsensical the entire place is
Great Horned Rat Day!
SLAANESHMAS IS FUCKIN' DEAD-DEAD
First one is incredible and could be adapted in moovie form
Redwall series is amazing by the way. Love that you chose that route. More people should read those books at least the first one
Im imagining the rats following researchers to the site kitchens to recieve their carefully portioned payment meals and I am weak
I needed this so much great timing. Thanks you for you amazing content.
Before I even finish this video, I will say these are some sick artworks.
Imagine having a rat call center that helps you find lost items and all you have to do for payment is make them a nice fruit salad. Seems pretty cute
as a pet rat mom who often finds my missing socks and facemasks stashed in their hammocks, and must trade craisins to get them back, scp 6369 seems legit.
Thank you mr exploring series rodents are my favourite mammal and a collection of rodent related SCPs was just what I needed today
Love what you did with the art, as a kid Redwall was and still is my favorite book series.
Thank you yet again! Your SCP explorations are something I look forward to every Monday! Fantastic as always.
Of all of your amazing SCP videos, I think the collections of weird types of SCPs are my favorite. I always tend to love a bit of absurdity and whimsy in my horror, and this is just the absolute perfect amount of it.
Reaction before watching: I literally didn't know there were any rat SCPs before this moment and let's see if that concept is as terrifying as it sounds shall we?
