I oven bake mine at 170° no steam, sure it takes longer...if the dirt is dry, where is the steam coming from, and with the low melting point, there should be no steam...not being a critical critic but I'm OCD about any sent what so ever, if I see stream, I freak out knowing there's sent...

@ well I used the burnt stuff and didn’t catch anything. Throw it out. I use peat moss now

Thing about old shed dirt is oil and other contaminates
Faster to buy 90lb bags of silica sand to wax. beds nice and dry ready to wax as soon as you open the bag .
