After working with this man this past summer at this beautiful ranch along side him on Cavalcades, I can proudly say that Bob is one of the smartest and most genuine people I’ve ever worked with. It was a pleasure and privilege. Heed his teachings, and please, go to BTSR.
No need to type that, already agreed to be a reference for your job application ;). Enjoyed riding with you Kyle.
Bob Hansler - lol
Never give up, a dead eye isn't as bad as a dead body, keep kicking.
Never giving in.
When I close my eyes, I see camping, canoeing & hiking trips w/ my late husband from days gone by. Knowing that you still "have miles to go before you sleep" makes me smile.
Healing moments that keep us going.

Ive used your snake cooking video during a 35 mile hike with buddies, best snake ive eaten, thanks buddy, best wishes from South Dakota!
Awesome, that’s what we love to hear. Filming and editing more. So much cool stuff out in the forests to learn.
Yea, and black tails, mottled, as well as copperhead. Lots of danger noodles.
You're quite the man Bob Hansler. Thanks for the videos, keep them coming as you can.
My son and his troop did BTSR, four years a go, they LOVED it! They are all in college, or working now, and they still talk to each other about it, when the meet each other. Lucky boys, one of the fathers that went with them was a pilot with our local AF base, and one night he gave them a beautiful star party.
Nice. Camp is still there. Might see if they are free to be staff in the summer. Always looking for those that enjoy the camp and have passion for what they do.
@@BobHansler I'll let them know.
May God help you heal back to complete sight. You are a good person, so I'm sure that God will give you good for the bad you have endured. Stay strong my friend. You have the support of us all.
appreciate you Bob.. thanks for taking us out there with you. I don't get out much due to disability so I love these videos. Thanks
I will still keep you in my prayers Bob!
You're one of the best Bob! Keep up fighting forward. We love you and I'm praying for the total recovery of your eyesight. I had an 85% retinal detachment in 1988 and after surgery and several years, I was back to shooting with a corrective lens. It will get better for you. Keep up the fabulous work that you do and most of all,,, Thank you!
Will do.
Bob, your never out of the fight, never, Gods hand will support you, never out of the fight

Some of prettiest country in the Big Bend, as well as the whole world. Thank you for these peaceful videos, Bob. I miss that area greatly.
I just want to say thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. I remember going into the woods and walking for hours. The best peace of mind I ever had.

You're always in my thoughts Bob. I love that you still go do what you love to do. As one who is disabled. You are my hero.
Love your channel, Bob! Have a Red Heeler, just like Huck, named Mayhem. Keep dreaming and healing!
"Cant keep a good man down."
Youre proof of that, Bob.
So happy to see new content from you. Beautiful country, there. As always, thank you for the videos.
Bob, you are the man! A true inspiration to us all!
Beautiful land. And awesome program, get out and raise money and send it, our kids need to be taught out here, not on social media.
Really great to see you active Bob. I'm 68 with COPD and live in Virginia, so I'm one of those you speak of who will never experience the wonders of places like BTSR. Rest assured your efforts to bring your videos into my living room are extremely appreciated, and I'm sure I'm not alone. My heart breaks that your vast knowledge and teaching abilities have become limited by your medical condition. I've raised you up in many tearful prayers for that's about all I can offer in support. Just know your efforts ARE appreciated sir, and your kindness and strong resolve will be rewarded, hopefully sooner than later. Looking forwards.. until next time. :0)
God bless you, Bob!
Blessings to you and your family. Thank You for sharing.
My boet(Afrikaans for brother) you are in my prayers. God will carry you through this. Keep up the good work and love your videos.
Best of luck with the health issues.
I understand muscle atrophy. I lost all cartilage in my right hip from Lyme disease (Lyme Induced Arthritis), and then much of the left. With no insurance it was almost 8 years before I could have replacement surgery. It is amazing how much your legs can atrophy in that amount of time. It is frustrating not to be able to walk without a cane after lettering in soccer in college, practicing a leg intensive martial art, and hiking the back country. Surgeries were four months apart to replace both hip joints, and that was over 5 years ago. I am still working on rebuilding my legs. I am determined to hike the mountains and canyon lands again. Keep at it, my friend.
Once again, all my best wishes for your future and recovery.
Hooray Bob, that is great news! I am so very happy for you!
Hi Bob! Take care and may all be well for everyone and Huck. Appreciate your lessons.
i was bed ridden often over a year ago but not from injuries. every time i would over exert myself i'd be bed ridden for 3 to 5 days. just no energy. barely enough to keep my upright and standing to go to the restroom and grab a snack on the way back to my bed. i'd watch youtube all day or listen to audiobooks, always learning. my body ached from really bad inflammation because i seemed to be allergic to everything and life was always a 6 to 7 out of 10 daily. this was a steady downward spiral in my health for the last decade. so I've been watching a lot of health videos and trying them out, none of them worked until i started keto. and then i noticed the more animals i ate the better i felt and my pre-diabetes wasn't a thing happening to me anymore.
i found the carnivore diet and i only did it because of mikhiala peterson being allergic to everything like i am too, and i was just going to go on temporarily to figure out what my allergies where. surprise, i seem to be allergic to about 90% of the fruit i try and 100% on the veggies. i do get to eat blueberries and strawberries which i'm pleased about. I've only been doing this for months now but eating this way has recovered 50% of my energy, over exerting myself doesn't result in being bed ridden, my pain levels daily are usually a 0 or a 1 out of 10, i have periods again, my depression has lifted, my body heals from damages almost as fast as when i was young, my sense of humor is back & ready to roast people, and my brain fog is almost fully lifted. i feel almost as sharp and articulate as i used to be. diet and life style have alot to do with health, way more then what pills people take. i used to love camping and stuff with people when i was younger, so I've been slowly gathering some hiking gear and i want to start hiking, which i think is now possible.
i'm here in south texas which is why i watch bob, plus he has some really interesting view points on all of this. I kinda have a goal to hike all 2280 miles of the Appalachian trail but the time to start that is in a couple of months away, and i do not know if i am ready for that because i did have a bunch of muscle wasting that happened to me and while i did regain muscle on diet alone, i'm unsure if i am ready or not, so, i might try alot of smaller hikes maybe closer to home first and the AT might wait for next year.
Me and some of my carnivore discord buddies are interested in emulating the diet and lifestyles as closely as can be done in the modern world of pre-agricultural man, because humans brain sizes shrank when they switched from hunter gatherers to farming and, if you put the scope of humanity's evolution into the scale of 24 hours, then, only the last 5 minutes is what humans have spent on farming. my buddy dolan who got everyone interested in that is starting a youtube channel on this subject this year and i'd say half my diet is based on his research and man... it is what made my diet change far better then what i was getting on zero carb. but it is similar to paul saladino's diet, and has influences from bart kay as well. dolan's youtube channel is called evolutionary life, it doesn't have any videos just yet but i think he will within a month from now. the bulk of his research he has posted on his discord which is how i know about it. anyways. good luck people! don't ever go vegan, it will ruin your gut health because it is the most unnatural diet that's semi popular.
So glad you never give up you are a true inspiration to us all thank you for all your hard work
Hang in there bud You doing a great job 😎👍 You are living the dream man You're living the dream.... Thanks for all your hard work and dedication my friend...#true survivor....
I really wish you all the best, at least you can still do what you love. Keep it up Bob, you are doing great!
As always sir, thank you very much for your update. I enjoy each video you share with us. Keep on smiling, you're an inspiration! Bro hugs from St Louis Missouri
Healing in Nature is the Best! Wishing you a speedy recovery, and ultimately the best for you and yours. Keep the vids coming, we'll keep watching, learning, and dreaming of sharing the adventure with you.
Will do.
You're awesome Bob, thanks for sharing this with us.
Bob, God be with you Huck and the rest of the famiy. By the way, how did Huck lose his tail?
Bobbed as a pup before we got him.
Praying for you Bob. Love your channel. Peace.
Thank you Bob! God bless brother
Super happy to hear that your doing well and I hope you you keep getting better!!! Best of everything to you and yours sir! Thank you for all you do for the UA-cam followers and for BSA!!!!
Anything for the Scouts. Will do.
2:21 Way to dance with the one that ''Brung Ya'' Bob. God only knows how much learning this will bring to the youth it was designed for; whatever their age. Blessings be upon you're every further endeavor. Columbo did alright all his life without his right eye. Peter Falk had worn a glass eye most of his life after his right eye was removed at the age of the three because of a tumour.
When I move to Texas I will do all I can to help you guys out. I am totally amazed at what you provide for these kids
Great to see see you again, love your videos....
Glad you are enjoying them. More to come soon.
Very good Bob👍
Keep on trucking 👊
Super happy that you are doing better Bob. I look forward to your new videos in 2020. God Bless
Earned my swim merit badge at the boy scout ranch. The class was like at 8am! Ice cold pool! Hiked to the notch. Im 52 now. I will never forget how much fun i had. Troop 1, out of Big Spring Texas! God bless you, hope you continue to get better. Remember old Kong?
I can report that the pool is stil cold. Dont know kond, but am curious.
Kong was an old mule that would make scary noises at night that echoed off the canyon walls. They used to tell us it was king kong coming to get you. Great trick to play on young scouts
Thank you for all you do to teach! Not just about the land and survival, but the ethics that go along with survival. Know the land, know the laws but do what you have to to survive! Thank you and hope nothing but the best for your health
Bobby, I wish you the best brother.
That grate to hear, keep it up Bob. Love to see new videos popping up. Wish you the best and good sit for the future 👍
BTSR was the first scout ranch I ever went to, definitely a magical place. Kicked off a scouting career that lead to camping across the country, two philmont treks, and ultimately working at Yellowstone National Park because of that scouting. BTSR will always hold a special place in my heart and it’s awesome seeing it shared with others
What a good boy your Huckleberry is...so attuned to his human! Blessings to you and your beautiful family!
I never saw a wild thing feel sorry for itself. Stay wild, Bob.
Respect from San Antonio. Would be awesome to hang out with you. This veteran salutes you.
Appreciated. Just an hour below you here in Zkarnes. I’ll have to have a gathering weekend on the property someday.
Bob Hansler you tell me when. I’ll come down. My father was from ft. Stockton so west Texas is in my blood.
“In the míddle of nowhere Texas”...Awesome place to visit, ride and learn!!
All the best from Southern Europe!!
It certainly is.
Thank you for sharing, Bob. You’re a true inspiration. I hope to go out there one day. I’m on a weight loss journey and have a bad knee. I used to hike a lot out in the Hill Country. Haven’t been able to because of my knee but hoping as I lose weight, it’ll be easier on my knee to be able to hike again. Thank you again, buddy. Wishing you all the best and look forward to seeing more videos of the Davis Mountains.
Keep at it. Hard things are often worth it.
Bob Hansler Oh, you betcha! 👍🏻👍🏻❤️
Beautiful shots of the land very nice. Stay safe and heath best of wishes and Prays.
Good for you Bob
May God's blessings give you what you need to get by. I admire your strength and courage.
Hi from China.
Your videos showed me a country/outdoor life similar with my youth time .They brought me peace and courage. I quite enjoyed the companion while I am abroad. And Huck is the dog I always want to have. I am glad you are healthy and back on your track. All the best and take care!
Just glad to see you still doing videos, because you are a True Teacher. Thank you
Hi, Bob, thanks for sharing your story. You are an inspiration. I have lost 40% vision in both eyes due to glaucoma, but luckily it is under control. Your videos are a reminder that nature, and our ability to appreciate it, are precious, and not to be taken for granted. Best of luck to you.
Your a TRUE inspiration sir, thank you much for you videos, I myself am dealing with combat PTSD and trying my hardest to get my butt back out on the trails, until then I look forward to your videos. Till next time.
Im praying for you bob. You have no idea how your channel saved my life and i wish i could help you sir. Ill never stop praying for you. Im glad your left eye is doing a bit better and so glad you can be out on the trails. Thank you sir for everything you do for us fans. I pray i can spend some time at the buffalo scout ranch someday. Keep up the amazing work and know that no matter what you have truly saved my life as well as changed it for the better. I owe you sir. See you next video
We all take care of each other and the world becomes a better place. Keep going and we’lol keep the videos coming.
@@BobHansler ty sir. I appreciate it. Cant wait til the next video.
Hope all is well Bob...Really appreciate your videos...Will put you in our prayers...from the Texas Hill Country 👍🏼
I want to thank you so much as someone who hasn't been able to do any hiking or outdoor rec since July due to reoccuring anaphylaxis. You videos are an amazing escape. When you said the videos are for people who can't go out and experience the wonders of the wilderness I got a bit choked up. Thank you so much for taking the time out of your life so those of us who can't. God bless
Glad you are enjoying them.
Great to hear from you Bob! And even better to hear you're able to get back to doing what you love and are passionate about. Wishing you all the best from Bonnie Scotland.
Glad to hear your getting better, I haven't had sight in my right eye since 1970(?) . Luckily my left seems to have been taking the load for all these years the only time I haven't been able to do something I wanted was when someone stopped me, So hang in there!
Charlie serious question, do you rock the eye patch or no?
@@DannyMancheno No I have a good false eye, I would rather people not know.
Thank you, Bob! Thank you for all that you do, to help others, in times where we should be helping you. Teaching others, doing Scouts, helping young boys to be men and to forage for themselves. You are truly an inspiration to so many. We should all sub, share, like, and watch.......and get Bob to 2 million subs so at least he can breathe a little easier. Keep up the great work, and maybe some day we will see you on the trail.
We’l work at it. The trail will be here when you get a chance.
Good to hear the news and I hope it continues to get better.
Bob I’m so glad you are sticking with it despite your eye trouble, and I’m happy to hear you’ve gotten some acuity back. Shauna, you’ve been a rock for Bob as you’ve both been dealing with his vision problems. I know it’s been hard on both of you, but you’re an inspiration to all of us. I would love to come to BTSR one day. I wasn’t able to get into BSA when I was young, so I’m making up for it now. Might even get a horse soon, if I can play my cards right. A sweet barefoot paint named Medicine Man. He’s been all up and down the Sierras and hunted in Idaho and Wyoming.
Anyway, as I’m sure most others have said, we really appreciate all that you do. You’re doing great.
Good to see your doing well
Better, perhaps we’ll someday.
Blessings to you my friend and tank you for sharing 🤙👌
Hi Bob, Thanks for sharing everything with us. You're very much appreciated. All the best to you in the New Year!
Thanks so much for the update. Glad to hear that you are doing better. God bless!
Wow such a beautiful place. And a person like you and yours to show and teach skills and to take care of the place. Hope your eyesight keeps getting better. Like always thank you for showing and sharing your life.
Glad y’all enjoyed it.
Just a Yankee from New York (upstate) that stumbled across this channel while surfing UA-cam...I enjoy watching it. Thank you for the posts!
That's awesome, Bob.
