Came across this video at 3 am a week ago, it inspired me and just today I climbed too the top my self, great time would love to do it again thanks for the inspiration!
Chet, the music is a bit intrusive in this one buddy. Can’t hear anything but “WOOO WOOO WOOO” while you are talking and telling us to listen to bugs lol
Back in the 70's the hike to the top was a different route. Mile or so up a dry stony creek then climbing up small switchback trails to the top. Later they graded a path that was much more gentle. If I had friends going for the first time I'd go up the old way and down the new way. They were a little pissed when they saw how easier the new one was.
I just woke up like 10 minutes ago, I had a dream last night where I wanted nothing more than to hike a mountain with my girlfriend, she might not wanna go but I think I’m gonna hit this next weekend
Just did this trail last week, by the end i was exhausted and my feet were killing me, but it was so worth it. The air is so clean and you can smell the pine sap as you go through the forest, simply amazing. Also, the ammo container is no longer at the peak, i guess it was removed due to covid :(
Camping up there was the best part. Makes me wanna go again.
Thank god for texas my home.🐴Very nice scenery.
That looks like an amazing hike! If you’re coming from a low elevation, then you normally wouldn’t deal with altitude sickness at that elevation. However, it’s high enough that your lungs will feel the thinner air at that height. You can definitely get out of breath more easily at that elevation. When that happens you just need to take a slow but steady pace so that you’re lungs don’t work harder.
“While mountain lions need not be feared…” my butt. 😂 You don’t need to live life like they’re about to get you but if you see one close that sees you, you know…good luck.
As you probably guessed from that old Beatles song I referred you to in my previous comment, I am getting along in years, and am now significantly over 70. And I'm wondering to myself if I would even be up to hiking up to Guadalupe Peak - you see, I live in nearby New Mexico. I haven't done hikes that ambitious for quite some time now - my usual thing is a little romp in the foothills of the Sandia Mountains outside of Albuquerque.
Lovely, thanks a lot for sharing. Just did Emery peak, Big Bend National park couple of days ago, looking forward for this one now. Thanks for the inspiration. Cheers..
Just did the hike today greatest views I’ve ever seen
Headin out next weekend, wish us luck 🙏 😂
Very nice video! I live in Arizona but I am traveling to Texas in a few weeks… I really want to do this peak. Thanks for sharing! 🌵✌🏼
Switchbacks galore 😂😂 I love it up there. Got El Capitan up next for myself
Awesome!
The hike up is difficult. Going down is easy, you can take your time and enjoy the scenery.
Excellent communication skills
While I don't condone the harassing of wildlife, it is cool to see the view from up there. Really liked the madrone tree, too - very cool!
Would you recommend this as a first hike?
