I like how if a Sudowoodo spots you it pretends to be a tree instead of fighting you or fleeing
It will still flee once it sees you take out a ball. So just throw a ball once you approach it will do. But yeah that is a very neat touch for this pokemon.
I really appreciate pokemon that don't attack you once seeing you now.

Yeah, the area with Sudowoodo and Nosepass felt like a gift, since Gligar was the only thing actively fighting me.
It might be referencing the fact that Sudowudo being a tree in Pokemon Gold and Silver. In the interview that briefly mentioned them going to back the game after the interview was over, possibly they could have changed the mechanic to whatever it was to what you are seeing now in the game. They explained all the way back then why exactly the first trainer fight in the entire game is the fight with the Togepi trainer. It is not a mistake, and they made sure to fully answer all the questions that they were asked surrounding the topic as well.
You made a mistake with Kamado resembling 'Birch'. It's actually Rowan he resembles
About why they would pick Ingo: Alongside his twin Emmet, he is very popular in Japan because of their train culture. The twins are also very well-known by fans that enjoy taking on the battle facilities in each region. I'd also argue that their battle facility is the best one because it is accessible pretty early in the game (it is definitely my favorite).
Also, since they wanted to establish a battle facility in this game, bringing one of the twins was a good call because not a lot of NPCs from this time have experience with Pokémon battling, and the other twin can still continue to manage the Battle Subway in modern Unova.
I wish Ingo changed his clothes at some point though. It makes me sad to see him looking like he got chewed up by an Alpha Carnivine or something. Not to mention his new hunched posture makes he look pretty down, compared to his original sprite.
I also thought it was weird how he chose to wear his old tattered clothing instead of a more fitting outfit like Cylene made the player do
@@PaPaSea I think he has an emotional attachment to it. Like how he keeps using train-related expressions and doing the pointing pose that he used to do with his brother Emmet. Someone could at least mend it a bit though.
i'm 100% sure that he kept his coat and hat because of how it reminds him of emmet even when he doesn't fully realize it this just makes me so sad for him
Y'know, there's something oddly refreshing about hearing Pikachu's pre gen 6 cry. I love the anime but when it comes to Pokemon saying their own name, I think it should stay there and not be a widespread thing.
Yeah Pikachu and eevee having voice acting exclusively in some of the newer games always felt off to me - if they're going to voice act, its all or none, cause if its just specific ones its just jarring!
Apparently they changed it during the 3D overhaul because more people recognised the anime voice as Pikachu than the OG one, which makes sense, I guess. I grew up with the original one so I don’t like it as much.
@@muwiwi Pikachu has a pretty iconic Anime voice, so it makes perfect sense why they would want the "newer" 3D games to have more updated features like that
A few additions... You don't just see people based on Sinnoh characters. Beni has the same hair as Wally, and Lian is obviously based upon Clay, amongst others. And Charm, the leader of the bandits, appears to be based on both Agatha and Bertha. She has similar hair to both of them and uses both of their signature Pokémon in Gengar and Rhydon. It's a fun box to the fact that Agatha and Bertha have always looked similar.
Regarding the Wisps, the number 108 refers to the Buddhist myth that Spiritomb is based upon. 108 is also it's Sinnoh Dex number.
Charm also says that she came to Hisui from the Kanto region. She could be an ancestor of both Agatha and Bertha.
108 is also Spiritomb's defense stats.

I believe Bearegard’s Wurmple is the only Wurmple in the core series games that is guaranteed to evolve into a Cascoon. This is because the story of the side quest is about Beuregard coming to terms with not having a Beautifly.

This is true, I started again because I screwed up and made sure to give him a Wurmple that evolved onto a Silcoon to see if it would stay as a Silcoon...the Wurmple evolved into a Cascoon so as soon as you hand over the Wurmple to him, if it was meant to become a Silcoon, it will change so that it can evolve into a Cascoon.

Ingo and Emmet are actually much more popular in Japan! In a popularity poll, they were the highest, only beaten by N. Ingo was second, and Emmet was third.
Just got to 6 star, and caught the last of the shiny Sinnoh starters I needed. I’ve been having so much fun with this game that I haven’t even finished the story yet, I’ve been working on my dex 😂

First wild shiny I found was an alpha Luxray. It had a bad nature but oh well.

Another weird fact about magikarp, in legends arceus, if you throw out a magikarp, it doesn’t flop around like it does in older games, it just kinda floats like basculin does

The 108 wisps fact completely blew my mind, but it actually makes perfect sense considering that Spiritomb is the 108th pokemon in the Sinnoh dex, and it's Pokedex entry says that it's made from 108 evil spirits.
This game makes me think of the Meiji Restoration period in japan. The professor seems to be from a more advanced region. His outfit makes me think of the late 1800's, early 1900's. Cogita is also a good example with her clothing appearing to have a Victorian style.
That’s not an accident. If Pokémon followed the real world timeline, this would be in the same time period.
Based on the Spiritomb info, Hisui takes place 200 to 300 before modern Sinnoh.
If it really ties with the timeline in real life then it should be in the late 1800s. It's not possible to be over 200 years ago considering there are so many foreign people from different regions moving in, more likely it's based on the history of how Hokkaido was civilized by people from America and Europe after Japan was forced their country open by war after 1850.

@@hhjan594 there’s always the possibility that the timeline is somewhat different by a few decades since the modern regions have always had a bit of future and advanced tech that didn’t exist in our world yet at the time of release, so theoretically the timeline could still work with around 200 years while still being based on the Meiji period since the Pokémon timeline could be ahead
There's an implication that Bertha and Agatha are related which makes sense considering how much they look like each other. This is cemented by the eldest Miss Fortune sister looking like them and saying she came to Hisui from Kanto. So Bertha in Sinnoh has Kantonian blood that dates back to the eldest sister emigrating from Kanto.
I don't think Gyarados 'forgot' how to fly in modern games, as he is still flying type and CAN learn flying moves, just not the move 'Fly' in particular.. Could just be he's a very spirited dude that doesn't want to let a trainer on his back! lol
Further there are depictions of Gyarados flying in the modern time games. Namely Sky Battles in XY, and the Spectacular Talent in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
I think Gyarados also flies in the Snap games.
Another one: if you are crouching, you can hide in tufts of grass that are smaller than the player character.
7:48 Laventon is a scholar, not an inventor. He has no idea how Poké Balls work.
Also a fun fact, Cyrus's Gyarados was flying in the manga when he faced Cynthia.
Now you've made me wonder if Mega Gyarados being Water/Dark is the next step in the myth you mentioned (losing its flying as punishment)
Very breif note. I would say that the eldest bandit sister is more an ancestor of Agatha than Bertha. As she uses a gengar and talks about coming over from Kanto. Also ingo and emmet are like. Very popular in Japan so that’s probably why he’s here

They never say ingo fell out of the sky. They say he just showed up and has no memories… also your character is most likely literally you, arceus never states he’s pulling you from an already established Pokémon world, and you have a smart phone, not a rotom phone or anything like that, plus you knowing about Pokémon and being good is 1 a trope of isekai, and 2 a reference to your real life knowledge of Pokémon, and there are even options assuming you might not have ever played a Pokémon game
This is how I understood it took, I assumed your character was from a timeline/dimension similar to our own and they were just a big Pokemon fan
If game freak does continue the legend line of games I'm hopeing for legends celebi I'd like to see the event that ignited the burned tower in Ecruteak city and the birth of the legendary dogs

When I met Ingo in the game for first time I was actually super surprised. I’m very happy they included an old character that also fell from the sky like the player.
As well as being a not as well known character makes it even better.
Was happy to learn that Ingo is in this game. That's definitely a hint to gen 5 remake

No it's not. It's just a random pick. Eventual Gen 5 remakes are likely based on previous trends anyway, and including Ingo in this game doesn't hint at remakes in any way.
Alder ancestor is a hint, Unova Pokémon with Hisuian forms is a hint, Lian is a hint.

6:00 you forgot to mention that Rei was wearing his shoes unlike he got to that wooden step before they vanished. The step was right above where a row of sandals are, so Rei is implied to have put his shoes in that row. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen that in action.
A weird fact that possibly you don't know.
If you compare the Sinnoh map and the Hisui map, you will notice that Jubilife Village is actually not at the location where Jubilife City is. This was a question I always had since the official Hisui map was shown. The reason why this was a thing was actually given in the game.
Because it isn't.
Despite the trailer they said Jubilife Village will become Jubilife City in the future, it technically didn't. It is suggested that the location of Jubilife Village became Canalave City in the future. These two places have a similar layout, similar locations (Both North of Lake Verity, but Jubilife City is on the East of Lake Verity. Lakes don't move on their own, especially when there's a dormant legendary pokemon living in it.), and both of them are harbors on the coast. After you beat the game, it is mentioned by the guard outside of the Galaxy team building that they are deciding to expand some of the base camps into a new village, so the Heights Camp on Obsidian Feildlands is more likely the location that became Jubilife City in the future.
During my playthrough, I always found it weird that the base camp locations are kinda weird and random. But turns out they aren't. Try comparing the two maps to each other it is indicating that the base camps actually become the different towns and cities in the future Sinnoh. (Except the camps in the Iceland, obviously Snowpoint City originated from Pearl Settlement.)
Yea, the name of the streets in jubilife also will become the name of some town on present sinnoh. Canala street for example.
Kamado seems to resemble Professor Rowan more than Professor Birch to me.

The Pokemon Company actually outright said that Kamado is Rowan's ancestor, and we can likely consider that to be the case for most of the resembling characters.
A sign of the game's quality: I *want* to complete the Pokedex. Like a lot. And not just for Arceus.
Also, on the claim about Pokeballs... I kinda just assumed Laventon was wrong.
About the pokemon shirking isn't possible that Laventon just doesn't know how pokeballs work and is just making a guess that could be totally wrong
The clothing for having the old saves (as well as the post-game quests for the mythics) were actually mentioned on the web site for the game.
The shrinking pokemon thing was in the concept art for Red/Green, and was mentioned in a Japanese exclusive book back when the series first began. DidYouKnowGaming did a video on these books a while back, and it was quite interesting hearing about it all.
I found that flying Gyarados last night and I got so confused 😭 I did everything I could to try to throw a pokeball at it but I kept missing
Use wing balls and wait for it to slightly fly straight, once you hit it once you can stun lock it with balls at same spot till you catch. Is also a togekiss flying above the Ridge near the lake cave

Before going to sleep in your home once you first arrive in Hisui, you can talk to all the people in the village. Marie (the lady you talk to when you want to access the pokemon pastures) says something like "It would be incredible for someone to fill up the whole pasture!". You can actually fill the village pastures, and I've done in an embarrassing amount of times lol.
3:45 charm states that she's stems from the Kanto region so it's heavily implied even buy her Pokemon that she's an ancestor to Agatha
Both of her Pokémon represent both of her descendants. While Charm never fully evolves Rhydon, Bertha, in Platinum (Initial + Rematches) and her BDSP rematches, uses Rhyperior. Agatha uses Gengar.

3:00 I'm not seeing the evidence that Gyarados can't fly due to being punished, rather it seems Gyarados being able to fly is simply something that Gamefreak until now has been a bit unclear on and thus its rarely/never been seen doing it in other media. Even at the time of Legends Arceus Gyarados was known for its violent behavior, yet at the same time it was apparently well documented to be able to fly, for some reason most of them simply don't very often. An NPC who gives you a quest regarding Magikarp relates that Gyarados being able to fly is true of all Gyarados. It's not an entirely new reveal either. That is:
1. Back in XY Gyarados was eligible for Sky Battles, specifically something only pokemon that can fly, glide or float could do.
2. Gyarados is depicted flying during its Spectacular Talent in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire pokemon contests.
Heres a little theroy about Rowlet's evo line had I had, I always took decidueye as a reference of robin hood but after this game I think hes actually a reference to the same thing ghost of tsushima is. where he goes from a honorable Ronin/samurai to a dishonorable "ghost". I now see his ghost typing to be more of a metaphor rather then it literally being a dead pokemon.

On starter Eevee, while the Partner Eevee in Let's Go cannot evolve I would like to direct your attention to the GameCube, specifically Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness. In that game your starter is an Eevee and you are free to evolve it into any of the Eeveelutions that were in gen 3 (so Flareon, Jolteon, Vaporeon, Espeon and Umbreon).
Pokemon Colosseum meanwhile gives you both an Espeon and Umbreon, I'm pretty sure this makes it the only pokemon game where you get two starters.
I feel like you may have missed the part where a lot of the NPCs are ancestors of 'future' NPCs. Like Volo being Cynthia's ancestor and Bertha being the defendant of Charm. Charm herself says she's from Kanto, so Kanto is also referenced. I believe someone talks about Kanto being filled with trainers though I may be thinking of Ingo talking about Unova
I distinctly remember someone in the game mentioning Kanto being ahead of Hisui as far as pokemon training is concerned too!
Maybe that’s why red is one of the best at battling

Fun fact about this game: it’s the first one to eliminate a Pokémon’s ownership of a signature move. The Walrein line is the group in question, with the move they lost being Ice Ball. They don’t learn it at all in Legends Arceus, but Avalugg learns it through level-up, making Ice Ball it’s signature move instead. The first game since SwSh to give Ice Ball back to us and Walrein didn’t get it. Hisuian Electrode can learn it, Avalugg has it as a signature move, but Walrein still can’t learn it.
ah yes, I remember when Professor Birch yelled "HOLD IT" in Pokémon Platinum too, PaPaSea. I remember when Pokémon revealed the HOENN Professor was related to the Commander of the Galaxy Team.

A weird fact I haven't seen anyone talk about is in coronet highlands the area where you unlock sneasler at the exit base camp next to the female security corps lady is a little dead tree your sneasler can climb up but it's glitched when you start climbing it your character will just keep going and eventually clear the height of the mountains around it and just be standing in air it's as if your character is climbing up the grand tree lol serves no purpose either than just being funny how high your character can go even though the initial tree is the height of a Berry tree or smaller even

You also hover on the bridge in jubilife. Also there are a couple floating iron barktongues on spring path as well as a floating tree in fabled spring

I have a fact about Pokémon being consistent. I am playing Pokémon Crystal again, and they mentioned that apricorns were used to make Pokéballs originally. And in Legends Arceus, you use apricorns to make Pokéballs.

Also fun thing about the shoes coming off is if you roll into the straw mats they come off automatically... I may or may not do that every time I go inside and may or may not absolutely have fun every time since my character can apparently put on shoes mid roll.

Definitely,when I first saw him in the trailer I though volo was related to Lusamine.even if the arceus part didn’t carry over to create a world where everything is perfect is a strange similarity if they aren’t related (while other villains want to make new worlds these two suggest more “perfect worlds at least what I can recall from Volos diolauge)
Interesting idea, but I feel like Game Freak is definetly aiming for Volo to be Cynthia's ancestor. The hair, the pokemon team, the theme song..
I knew most of these but outside of the last few facts, especially the regi part. The shrinking part was a really interesting when the prof told me. But I find since sinnoh pokemon made itself more and more 'peta' friendly which is fun

The snowpoint temple also has a alpha gallade stuck in a wall. You can't catch it or initiate a battle to catch it.
I think that was a glitch on your game I had no problem catching that gallade and the ralts that was by it
@@finalemblem1388 it was one of the funnier glitches. You could hear the Gallade stanced up ready to fight and you saw little impact movements from the wall.

@@finalemblem1388 Lol I'll give you a better one. Before playing this I was playing Spider-Man PS4. Days before the Legends Arceus game came out I saw that you can get the Darkrai bonus from playing Shining Pearl so played that as far as I could get and when the game finally came out all my muscle memory was all in on the Spider-Man game that I kept thinking my guy was Peter Parker. No seriously I was kept thinking I was gonna web shoot some pokemon, my mind saw the alpha pokemon as the big bruiser thugs you change your fight around when your swarmed by a group of pokemon. And when s*** hit the fan I looked at the top of the trees thinking I was gonna web swing away. Non of that happened and for the first day of the game I kept getting my ass kicked. I was so annoyed by that I felt like Spider-Man would be pissed by how much his ass was kicked by wurmple, the Pokemon you can compare Caterpie to and a few other things on and off throughout the gameplay. Once I got over some of that then the game got good. Also the closest I got to feeling like Spider-Man in Legends Arceus was when you get Sneasler to climb mountains.

Dunno if it's been said, and maybe you know now, but I realized that people have different graphic tees when they start the game? I saw someone with an Alola shirt when they started! Maybe i'm wrong but... I'm pretty sure it was part of the opening cutscenes speaking with the professor.

also I always believed that they were a Sun and Moon Protaganist, because the outfit you wear at the very start of the game resembles clothing you can obtain in that game

You have to talk to the guard (or the Wurmple I can't remember) in order for it to proc the evolution scene

the shrinking Pokémon is a reference to an obscure bit of lore, I think it was in an old gen 1 guide that said that an early 20th century scientist discovered it when his primape had a lab accident and shrunk down to fit inside his glasses case, I think Dr lava found the fact out through translating the guide. also, a descendant of that scientist appears in an episode of the anime

Fainted pokemon could definitely evolve before this game
Actually it was able for fainted pokemon to evolve since sun and moon bc I remember playing ultra sun that my metang met the level requirement but got knocked out and after I won the battle it evolved into a metagross
you have been able to evolve fainted Pokémon with evolutionary stones since gen 1 I presume, at least since gen 3. His facts are honestly full of bad information
