When I worked like crazy to save my business and put in endless hours, I heard this group and I felt like a warrior. I've been through hardships that few men could do ... I saw the guys in person and was grateful.
Killer stuff. Seems custom built to refute anyone who says metalcore bands can't write good riffs, interesting breakdowns or are dumbed down by happy, clean choruses. The thrash\gothenburg influence is still fierce in this one, even though it's a decade old.

Metal has always been a genre of "rejects" if you will, and that's what makes us special. We have the most convicted, talented, diverse fan base of any genre, particularly because of the tons of sub-genres none-the-less. We are awesome, and we never will be a passing craze. Think about how long these bands have been in our hearts, while the big face on the tv changes every other year.
honestly man i have never been a big fan of it but this band makes me question why breakdowns in general cop so much hate. they do it so well and always make it tasteful. beautiful shit
I read in an article how some bands dont really do breakdowns, its called a change-up. man if only i can find that article again, it explains it so well. unearth is one of those bands that do "change-ups"
I am about to read The Cruible for school and cant wait. Love this song and the meaning behind it. And if you guys like this song listen to abigail by motionless in white that song is about abigail williams.
It shouldn't be legal to be this fucking brutal.. I mean god damn, I need a Xanax bar just to come down. Afraid I might crucify everything in close proximity to me. *Antennas Up* Long Live The Metal.
Does anyone remember an old youtube misheard lyric of this song in UA-cam that started with "Swallow this light, Star Wars"? And then it said "No we'll not pee" on 0:38 and "Whipping the salt" on 0:56?
I love this album, probably more than all their others. This album ^^^"III: In the Eyes of Fire"^^^ was a special one IMO; It's just heavier, I dig all the songs more & the arpeggios throughout the songs are so awesome \m/
Videos clear enough for you to see, but then again, who gives a shit? I'm here for the music, not to lament that the video isn't in glorious 4K ultra HD 60fps.
you can clearly see that humanity is lost, i mean how does it come that justin bieber has over 100.000.000 views and this only 50.000? oO mindless slaves are gonna conquer the world...
LOL this song is about Giles Corey, of Salem Massachusetts. During the Salem witch trials, he was accused of witchcraft and refused to plea guilty or not guitly, and was pressed to death by stones while being tourtured. (More stone. More stone. More weight for corey) He refused to plea even while being crushed, he simply asked for more weight. (I WILL NOT PLEAAAAAA)
More info (4 years late I know) Giles would not plead because, if he plead innocent, he would have been hung after a trial, and he new it. If he plead guilty, they would have allowed him to live, but taken his land and everything he owned and shame him for life from being associated with the devil (witchcraft) So in order to save his land he would not plead. "Court of ayer and terminer, leave me my rightful land To stow in my heart-to leave to my sons."
@CableReadyTechnoSIut Yup, spot on and due to him not make a plea he died presumed innocent and in full possesion of his estate which was handed to his son. He was a brave soul and a martyr. He had courage seldom seen these days.
+mendozamaple19k Hey man, here where I live, everyone, from the ages 14 to 30 are moshing like fuck, breaking their fucking noses, arms, scratching every inch of their body, making walls of death like they are about to kill eachother. Everyone goes home holding their heads in their hands, with no voice beacuse of the screaming... I'm 16. If you ever want a brutal concert, we are waiting you to Eastern Europe. :D

smart move too...by not pleading, his estate was able to be transfered to his next of kin instead of being taken by the state. (Leave me my rightful land.) a tough ass sumbitch for sure...im sure i couldnt do it.... kick ass song, kick ass band...hope for metal's future

When I worked like crazy to save my business and put in endless hours, I heard this group and I felt like a warrior. I've been through hardships that few men could do ... I saw the guys in person and was grateful.
I dont understand how someone could take the time out of their day to find this video, watch it, listen, and then dislike it...let alone two people.
8 years later the mysterious continues
@@jamesy3722 now 24!!!! This madness!!!
Still jamming this in 2020, since I bought the album at 14. 🤘
I was 16, now 31. Still my favorite album of theirs followed by WoR.

RECTIFY MY NAME.
Sound track of my childhood, god I miss the late 90’s/ early 2000’s.
Pure metalcore.
PPPPPPPPLEASE tell me you're a Metal Head. I loved your movie as a kid.
9 years and only a hundred thousand views? WHAT THE FUCK.
Easily one of their best songs ever
Smother his life, the words cut right to the heart
Disease and threaten my family name
An epic stand is made, condemned
I will not plead, I will not plead
Damned to the beast of torment
Damned by the beast within us all
Crushed by the fear
More stone, more stone
More weight for Corey
Not one step forth could capture a mission of guilt
By law, avoids death on gallows hill
Through time, his fight will martyr my name
My soul free of a heretic
Crushed by the fear
More stone, more stone
More weight for Corey
Court of ayer and terminer
Leave me my rightful land
Court of ayer and terminer
Leave me my rightful land
To stow in my heart, leave to my sons
Peine forte et dure is called
An effort to collapse belief has failed
And surely will die with me
An epic stand is made, condemned
I will not plead, I will not plead
Damned to the beast of torment
Damned by the beast within us all

2021 and this is a real master piece
My most favorite break down ever
There’s 3 bands I could listen to in a giant mix of all their content. Unearth is one them.
At The Gates
In Flames
This song is a paradigm of everything great about metalcore.
Mike Justian had a lot of balls to record this entire album without a click track.
this song is top of class. nothing compares.
2021 and still deadly

It is 2024 and I just listened to this banger track for the first time in my life.
Always thought the drummer was bad ass in this video. 🔥
They got rid of him nut live as i lay dying drummer not really enuh
Mike Justian never let us down
thanks for writing this man, always wondered what the song was about and who "Giles" was
Giles Corey was a man pressed to death by large stones during the Salem witch trials because he would not plead guilty
