    Need to hold the throttle wide open to allow for air to be drawn into the cylinder.

      That was what i was thinking too!!
      A closed throttle can result in a false lower reading. This is whats happening Closing the throttle reduces the amount of air sucked into the cylinder during the intake stroke.

    I'm currently working on 2 1979 Suzuki DS models, a 185cc and a 100cc. if the oil injection is by-passed it starves the left crank bearing of oil. Yamaha's are different in that respect. Always best to use factory oil injection if possible. Just my 2 cents cuz that's all I can afford. 😆

      Factory oil injection is a handy thing to have but with years of wear and tear or sitting (the worst for anything) doing the calculations and premixing the fuel manually is the safest alternative, especially if you are unfamiliar with your moto and or have not checked the operation of the pump. The motos you're working on sound amazing! I do not have many Suzukis, but I am very pleased with the ones I do have/had.
