I started following LCA when i was 17yrs old online now i am 43 yrs old. I have attended 3 or 4 Aero Indias and spoken to GOVERNMENT scientists. There seems to be no sense of fear of loss in their eyes. Unless project is handed to TATA or Mahindra like Mnc i will become 80yrs old before AMCA. 😅

Bro engine avionics are the most important, even India can make Airframe conduct wind tunnel test and fit the jet with FE414 engine and AESA radars but will it be reliable and meet the purpose of an 5th gen Aircraft.

Following are some reasonn for The lack in Indian science and technology development programs
1)The big reason is that govt doesn't want to induce good workers. for example in IMD Assistant scientist exams the cut off was 55 for core subject and 73 for reasoning quant English and GK . I mean a scientist is required to have core knoweledge about his subject rater then just calculating quickly and remmbering shitty stuff like who had written which novels. No country in this world would ask their engineers or physicist Questions like "where is water digested in human body during digestion?" before recruiting but India does and this is the result (same thing is true for DRDO just as IMD). Most of my seniors/juniors and collegeus from IISC/IIT's and NIT's had gone abroad. They would literally like to work in india but due to this tedious, uncertaine and unrewarding scheme they left. Govt should atleast directly recruit IIST/IISc and IITians because this people are really talented (I ain't adding NIT because it will be considered self praise or something simmilar to that).
2) Low spending on technological research and worst spending in natural science.
3)Developing technology to just show off (for example USA built GPS system from its space mission. It was something novel now can anybody tell me what we made out of our chandrayan mission or other missions which had develop something novel)
4)Economical problems like inequality, unemployement etc. Our govt is providing food to 85 crore people for free now how can we develop 5th/6th gen fighter jets
5) Not recruiting enough scientist. They recruit few engineers and very few physicist, chemists and mathematicians (I have cracked GATE and I was in top 3% but still jobless in india Just go and look how EU and other countries are treating their top 5% experts in their fields. Unemployement ki to baat hi dur hai their salary is in 8 figures). I am an NIT graduate working in germany, Initialy I would have liked to work in BARC or any other instittute but there are very low number of seats and payment is obiviously less
6) Recruitment of professors in state university through PSC's/NET/SET. Those people didn't had technical/scientifical skills to get employment in first place and hence went for PSC's to get employment. What will you expect from unskilled people who were not fit to be employed ? what sorts of skills they will teach to the student? The recruitment should be done through the quality of research made by the candidate. So that we could have perfect assuptions about their scientific and technical skills
7) Now there is even worse trend of contract faculty or in other words ad-hoc
There are many more things but let's keep it till here
Turkey also have experience in building f16 since 90s. We dont have it. Turkey is a member of nato, they have much better access to advance technology which we dont have. Because even usa started building fighter jet since 1930. These things will take time. But we have other defence system to protect ourself.
Even Russians have 5th gen jet, why india is not buying. Why we Indians are not buying Russians jet engine but interested in american jet engine. Because Americans are tested.
So things are happening. No need to panic. We also have to take care of our economy.
Not many country are interested in buying 5th gen except some very rich like uk and korea. Because their maintaince are costly.
Even china have a 5th gen jet, but they are facing issue with engine and their stealth feature.

We have such advanced knowledge in the F16 that our maintenance and spare parts facilities are in a position to compete with the United States.
Turkey can not access to advanced technology as easy as u think. West have been putting tons of emborgo on Turkey. You can make a search about it. For example Altay tanks has not ready because we trusted germany for the engines. There is a lot of sanction aganist us. Only solution for those problems. U have to work hard and focus to improve ur tech.

So all time we couldnt buy all things by them, because all time they had a new reason, Like S400 and they didnt give us the F35 and so many other situations like this. Canada didnt give us the cameras for TB2, Germany didnt give us the machine and the gears for the turkish Tanks and so much other tings, perhaps. And now all them we can produce it self and at this moment only i want say them thank your very much for all the embargoes and now so we can produce all self👏🌞

Turkey was a part of f35 previously and also used to make components of f35 therefore Turkey had that experience.
Remember, this is not the first time Türkiye is building planes. It produced all F16s in Europe and Asia. In addition, Boeing and Airbus aircraft companies have continued to produce aircraft parts for years. Türkiye produces unmanned aerial vehicles and sea scenarios. They have very strong companies in the field of defense. This is a process that has been going on since 1974, it is not an easy task, it is very easy to criticize from where you sit.
Producing foreign aircraft parts usually just means assembly work.
What says their plane is stealth let alone 5th gen?
Its an angular airframe, and one does not even know whether if the material from which the plane is made from are composites which reduce radar reflectivity or simply aluminum / titanium.

Turkey opened tenders for the purchase of helicopters and tanks in 1996, but the tenders were extended. Germany did not sell Tani, but only sold second hand Leo 2A4. In 2004, a carat was taken at the defense industry executive committee (SSIK) meeting.Erdoğan decided not to make ready-made purchases from outside other than joint production, and the following developments took place.The warship project (milgem), which was postponed in 2006, was launched.The domestic tank project was launched in 2008, and in 2008, an agreement was made with AgustaWestland and the licensing rights for the A129 Mangusta helicopter were purchased.Anka unmanned aerial vehicle project was launched in 2008 Dates may vary, but after the 2004 SSIK decisions, Turkey launched domestic defense industry projects one after another.Nowadays, we wish these projects had started earlier.Following these developments, our country experienced major earthquakes in 2011, Gezi Park events in 2013, 14-25 December events, 15 July coup attempt, 2019 pandemic, 2023 a major earthquake,And we went through many more events. Yes, some projects experienced delays, but we are not responsible for these, embargoes.

In the past, Turkey received the right to produce F-16s and produced its own F-16s, plus there is technology from the F-35. There is no support other than the experiences of the past. The engines are produced separately and continue with the engineering support of a British company. We will build the engine by 2028.

It's so ironic that everybody is blaming HAL and ADA . But nobody has guts to blame the government for this . Our government is equally responsible, they can buy billions worth of equipment from foreign countries but can't sanction funds for engine and aircraft development. And if one projects fails , they just start to question their agencies. Just see the history of USA and how many projects have been failed there. Just compare the amount sanctioned for kaveri engine or AMCA with any other country's engine or aircraft.
I have been following defence since 2016 and Haven seen any big development in defence sector (except navy).
And during this period , two countries started their 5th gen project and even did first flight ( S Korea and Turkey)

In 2021, I was extremely optimistic of the indigenous efforts of developing fighter jets. Had just signed Tejas mk1a deal and was really looking forward for 2024. Come 2024. So signs of AMCA, no signs of Tejas mk2, no signs of TEDBF. it's hard to imagine AMCA first flight in the next 5 years. Introduction of AMCA seems optimistic for 2034. Tejas mk2 seems like losing relevance.

One among the many reasons are we have too many planned/ half finished/ work in progress projects tejas-mark-1a/2, amca, tedbef, orca, hlft-42, ijt-36 to name a very few, even having an eye on 6th generation aircrafts, we are spreading our resources thin(money, manpower, manufacturing equipments, and most importantly time) wheras turkey most likely focused all their resources on one project "kann" And got it done.
Just buy them from america bro you are not a religious people so they will give you everything unlike middle east countries where they wanna ruin people lives
