Your deterrence would not have worked if it was not with support of US and China. These guys are stopping India from doing big things against Pakistan. You may not know this, but EMI is the way we bought massive amounts of weapons from the USSR. It's just that the roles are reversed now.

We didn't have any dollars as foreign exchange so the USSR allowed us to trade in rupees. And despite having a lot of money, foreign exchange dollars now we are not able to buy medium multi role aircraft for the last two decades. What's the use of this financial heft??. At the end of the day IAF is the one who is facing shortages in fighters, AWACS and tankers and PAF is getting their aircraft quickly.

And remember we have to always divide our force for 2 fronts while Pakistan's entire focus is on us. Despite this Pakistan now has double the amount of AWACS that of india.

first things first , inadequate supply of parts is not the reason for Migs crashing . Unless you are suggesting that IAF bought more than 200 and Russia or USSR never gave parts of maintenance fore them . Because IAF lost 105 Mig 21 first 15 years after induction . 41 o1 of them in first 10 years 3 of which was during war time.
2nd thing, China had never intended to use JF17. They already had Sukhoi variants, They have have Sukhoi aircrafts, J10C and stealth program in full swing. Why would they need JF17 ? It has no place in their Hi-lo or rather Hi-mid-Lo mix of aircrafts. It was only developed as a business venture to bring Pakistan aeronautical complex in fold and have them as both customer and seller. You will not see CEO of Mercedes driving a C class . Not because its a bad car, but because he is in a different league and plays a different ball game. You understand that ?

4th point, All JF17 of PAF are in operation and constantly being upgraded. Since induction, there have been three upgrades. You do not spend money upgrading a line that is 40 percent out of operation. See you need to understand what a Hi-Lo mix is and what's the sense behind it. Pakistan cannot afford to have JF17 on ground. So your imagination or wishful thinking is baseless.
JF17 has 4 crashes and I indirectly know some of the personnel lost as well.
Indians called Mig21 the flying coffin because they literally single handedly made it the flying coffin. Do you know how many countries used Mig21 ? Lookup. Not one , not a single one of them crashed 100 in only 15 years. Lets assume it was not a great aircraft, still, 105 in 15 years ? And not just 15 years, the first 15 years alone . How ? Why ? How is 3rd tier airforce like Syria still flying them ? Not a fraction of crashes they did compare to IAF . How is PAF still flying F7-PG (a chinese variant of Mig21) without it becoming a flying coffin?
I will admit that Marut was a great effort. Not a great aircraft but considering it was first venture, it was a great effort. Takes a great deal of work to develop an aircraft. The only operator IAF is on the record with some serious criticism for it but it was a learning exercise. It does not have a good record though. It was phased out within 10 years which mean that even HAL knew it was a disaster. A good learning exercise but operational disaster.
Final point, see you are looking at things wrong. IAF has a record of mid air collisions. I respect and understand patriotism but IAF has always done a spin on their shortcomings from the get go. And its not just Mig21, lets forget that for a minute. IAF has done bad with Su30 with Mig 29 , you name it. Now, are they not get parts and maintenance for those either ? Which is why i said that no amount of Rafales makes a difference. If you think 200 plus SU30 was not enough or not good enough and that Rafale would change things ? Sorry but IAF and politicians are fooling the tax payers.

very soon we will see structural fatigue cracks in of J10c as well (like jf17). Chinese could not copy metallurgy and fighter jets is all about right alloy.
Just to enlighten your understanding about China's advances in metallurgy field, China has now the most advanced space station than any other country in the world. Furthermore China has been getting orders of Commercial airline planes orders from countries like USA & Germany. Both of these feats are not possible without getting a substantial command over metallurgy.

Buying 36 Rafael aircraft turned out to be not so good decision for us.
As each aircraft cost upwards of 100 million dollars and we cannot buy any different aircraft in no's without hurting our interest like maintainability and cost per unit etc.

IAF has many options. They are negotiating for the best deal.
Rafale was a safe bet because France manufacturers it's on its own and using rafalen don't come with any clausm American jets can't be used without the permission of USza

When we have very good home made air to ground weapons like Raad, H-2/H-4 and air to sea CM-400 than there is no reason to pay for extra weapon package. J-10C is not less than Rafale. Another edge of J-10c deal over India is that we are purchasing 100+ J-10C in next 5-7 years on very cost. In future war senario Spare parts delivery will not be halted. but in indian case France and Russia charge india extra amount. what will rafale do when we put 5+ J-10c against 1 Rafale.
