To be fair, Amy was on camera with Style theory from the very beginning. Lee and Tom have very rarely showed up on their respective channels if ever, and Santi has only somewhat recently shown up more often on Food theory.

i love how all the other three introduced themselves and addressed how they were not MatPat but amy just dives in as if she was always the host. Hahahha xD
The thing is that in a weird way in some videos it felt more like amy was the host making matpat do something more than mat being the host kinda like the master mind or puppeteer of style theory
i like it too but i believe it's because amy always has been here so we're the most familiar with her... at least with the theorist channels

Style theory idea: does aloe actually heal everything faster? In my household it can moisturize your skin, remove pimples and scars as well as relieve burns. I’m really intrigued about it healing scars, but that may be hard to do. Vaseline is also a similar product. Maybe Vaseline is an easier experiment product?
I am a person who is scared/hate change and i was worried I wouldn't like these channels but I guess I was wrong, because Amy is so ICONIC that she is (dare I say) better than MatPat! but his voice will always have that place in my heart.
her voice is so much better tho, even if matpats voice is in all our hurts, just like spongebobs, his wasn't a particually appealing voice, being even annoying for some lol
@@Mardikuzhis voice was worse, but years of practice made his delivery absolutely flawless. The entonation, the cadence, the timing. Everything about his narration was honed to near perfection, even if the pitch and timbre were... Less than desirable. And that's something the new hosts still have to hone for possibly years to come
This 100%!!! I can't say for all theorist channels but Amy knocked it out of the park with her first video (and heck, got me hooked all the way back when she appeared in the killer heel video)

Tbf is because Amy was already kind of a co-host on this channel, while Santi, Lee and Tom mostly did work off camera or on very specific episodes
Well she was more prominent in the videos than the other 3.
And if we’re being honest, this channel is still new and not as popular as the others, so its audience would probably have been aware of the host change from the beginning.

But fr, I feel like this was a crazy big first ep for Amy to do. Half an hour long, a massive experiment. I mean, the other channels had pretty safe bets. Film Theory did Kung Fu Panda, Game Theory did Poppy Playtime, Food Theory covered spiciness, but I feel like this was a more daunting episode. It came out well! Keep it up y’all.!
I'm so glad you guys did this episode!! I've really been struggling to find a perfect option for shaving because It's been so hit or miss for me. It's just great to have a channel that looks at syle and beauty from a logical perspective.
I'm so glad that MatPat didn't just close his channels when he retired. Now, we have four great hosts to follow. Any, you may be my favorite of the new hosts.

I love it when Head Editor Dan shows up. 1. I love that he straight up has a title and isn't just Dan, no no no, he is Head Editor Dan. 2. He's just always adorable in this counterintuitive big grizzly bear but actually a teddy bear way and I'm just very entertained by it and I don't know how else to explain it besides that.
He needs to up his branding. "Head Editor Dan" is a bit clunky. I refer to him as "Headitor Dan."

It helps that Amy was on camera from the very start of Style Theory bashing skulls with shoes. The other three hosts weren't so common. Plus, I think Style Theory has had backstage members on camera more often than the other three channels with Amy almost always showing up, even if just for a quick chat midway through the video.
@generalcodsworth4417 Yeah, Style theory is the one with the most On Screen performances since Game and Film Thoery rely more on graphics and scenes from the medium, and even Food theory relied heavily on graphics... at first.

I love Mat Pat's angelic voice so much that I was worried it would be weird hearing someone else. But these past theories have been great and I'm exited for the future of the channels
I honestly appreciate these videos as I’ve had to learn a lot on my own this learning and growing for the most part without the guidance of a parent to help point me in a positive direction. these videos have given me more information that on some levels I feel like I should have been able to ask my mom but can’t. So thank you for every style theory and I’m looking forward to your experiments in the future.
Style theory idea: does sticking your feet out of the blankets affect your sleep? Which one is best? One feet out, no feet out or both feet out? Keep the experiment in a room with consistent room temp for best results

Amy, notice that the "Team oil" and "Team cream" have a very clear distinction, Team Oil have darker skin tones and Team Cream have clear skin tones. Perhaps the better "after shave feeling" with Oil and Cream has to do with Skin type too, you could dig into that in the future...
I wonder too as the texture of the hair Types might also affect it like thicker hair

This is actually more to do with hair rather than skin! Darker complexions usually come with thicker and more coarse hair, which heavily affects shaving. ^^
Great observation, and it factors into my choice! I've never tried shaving oil, only creams, so I'm going to give it a try.

This was by far my favorite theory from the new host, there were so many moments that I laughed out loud and I will definitely keep tuning in!
I can totally relate to having post-shave "dots" on your legs from having dark hair and light skin. I was self-conscious about those too before my transition. I really appreciate you being vulnerable and talking about your insecurities!

Another thing is cost, safety razor is the biggest winner there bc you can buy like 100 blades for about $5 or less and save hundreds of dollars over your lifetime. I think Matt covered that in the first shaving video? I'd have to check again but I'm happy with this transition, you're such a great host!

Yep, that’s accurate. The cost analysis for the lifetime of the safety was about $700, vs all the others which added up to more than $2400 each, including the disposable ‘cheap’ option.
Safety razor supremacy has become apparent.
So of the 4 new hosts, Amy was the best transition.
1. She didnt need to announce it.
2. Because she was already semi hosting before in the shorts.
She felr more natural since ive had 'episodes" of her. Whixh is something i wish they did with all channles. Eithwr put them into the shorts to introduce, or have had there first few episode mixed in with Matts final episodes. A gradual change instead of a sudden one
Well, they kinda did with Santi but I definitely agree about Lee and Tom. It definitely felt more sudden
And 3: her comedy and personal experiences fits ST arguably better than dearly departed Matrick Patthew.

@nickpineau4139 I feel like her speaking cadence is pretty similar to Steph's. Her voice tone is also a bit similar too range wise from their normal speaking voice!
@BeddyTear I feel like both Matpat and Steph speak somewhat similarly, probably because they have been together so long. Amy probably got influenced by both, but having a more similar voice to Steph probably makes those two sound more similar than Amy and Matpat.

FINALLY ! I was waiting for this episode ! Personally, at the beginning I started with the disposable razor, then the Gillette 5 blades and now I use the Venus, cause it causes me a lot less of irritation than the previous ones.
But the best thing I learned from this video is the first rule of shaving ! 😁😁

I did a science fair project a couple months ago and basically Aquaphor retains the most moisture the longest followed closely by petroleum jelly

I have found as someone with very dry skin that stuff like that doesn't work as well bc while it retains moisture, there's not much moisture to retain lol (and I don't like the slimy feeling.) CeraVe lotion worked much better bc it helps retain moisture but it also puts in moisture and helps your skin build up its natural barrier again (I mostly have used it on my hands when they get extremely chapped and nothing else seems to work.) I think if you can handle the slimy feeling and your skin isn't as dehydrated and cracking as mine though, the max moisture retaining options could work really well to help you have super smooth skin :)

This was excellent, Amy you're wonderful!! While I watched I realized I shave my legs with the 3rd place winner and just in the bathtub under the water and I dont get skin irritations, even without a cream or oil. I dont usually use a moisturizer afterwards either, its hard to find a scent that doesn't irritate everyone else in my household. Pro-tips for peeps with sensitive noses!

Amys story hit hard. The very same happened to me. I have a lot of male hormones and grow a lot of dark hair basically everywhere and very quickly. Worst thing was that I actually grew (and still do, nowadays I just shave them every shower, it just a normal habit now) side burns, which as a 15 year old girl just sucks... At some point I stopped wearing short stuff or was scared of going swimming. My hair always hid my face. Girls in my class thought of it as "unclean" and so I excessively washed and cleaned myself.
Now? I don't care anymore and it makes me feel so much better. I can just agree with all of it. Having body hair, no matter how much or even how little, is completely natural. YOU decide how you want to "wear" it and not others and either way it's perfect the way you like it.
We’ve all encountered the mean girls. I had cystic acne and was hairy, because of pcos, so naturally I was bullied. A,y is right. It’s the mean girls who have a problem!

I have always showered in the: Shave body -> Wash hair -> Clean skin order and have always been covered in red dots and ingrown hairs. I've never even thought of exfoliating first. Thanks 👍
I highly recommend exfoliating the night before or at least a few hours before! Since shaving is also a method of exfoliation, using a scrub right beforehand means you would be double exfoliating - which can worsen skin sensitivity and irritability in the long run

I’m not even done watching this yet but I’m already so emotional. Thank you Amy for being vulnerable about your past. I was bullied for my hair and I have hormonal issues/pcos/hirsutism that I regularly feel ashamed about and frustrated about. Nothing online has made me comfortable or helped me feel better about my body but seeing you being so accepting of yourself and others in the beginning of this video has made me feel less weird about myself. ❤

This made me go buy exfoliant and I realized why I get raiser bumps it’s cause I grow my hair out for months and just straight up shave it. I didn’t know I had to trim before shaving. As someone with only a dad who shaves his beard there’s only so much he can teach me. Who knew after 7 years of shaving I’d learn something new. Great video

I read that putting your *clothes in the freezer* is a better way to sanitize them, as it supposedly kills germs without wearing down the fabric the way washing it does.
The article suggested to replace washing clothes with freezing them... out with the washing machine, in with the fridge?
This channel is the only place I can think of that has the brains, the resources and the madness to actually test this out ❤

I went through a laser treatment to prevent my hair from growing in my legs and armpits because my hair tended to grow under my skin (and also because I was really hairy and felt so ashamed of my body hair) and honestly my skin feels better than ever, not only takes so long for my hair to grow back, now is thinner and doesn’t requiere to shave that often. When I started the laser process I got used to exfoliate my legs and now I do it at least once a week.
Honestly love how the safety razor won. Especially after they already proved that it is, by far, the cheapest option in the beard episode.
I've been a fan of Theorists for the past 10ish years and the new hosts are doing an amazing job! I cant wait to see what the next 10 years of Theorists brings !
