- Did you know that there was a Brotherhood Chapter hiding out in the ruins of Chicago? Well even if you did - come on a journey to find out how a detachment of the Brotherhood ended up there and ask why they aren't speaking to any of the other Brotherhood forces?

And according to ED-E, the Enclave also has a presence in Chicago. There's no way they and the Chicago Brotherhood haven't locked horns.
Would be interesting if the midwestern brotherhood and midwestern enclave formed an alliance

I would imagine the Chicago or Texas Chapters would have been the Brotherhoods that the Legion have fought and forgotten about Maxon. Perhaps them going rogue is them forgetting their history
the Brotherhood that Legion fought is likely either reference to Colorado BoS from cancelled Fallout Van Buren or the Midwestern BoS from Tactics (this would make more sense as Midwest BoS basically gives random tribals weapons and Power armor without much teaching about their history). Legion doesnt spread as far as Chicago or Texas so them fighting either is unlikely
@@boombler4320lanius did go to Texas though and Colorado, I think the chapter in Colorado and Texas are either dead, or could successfully repel lanius, most likely the Texan one as they are comparable in strength and the brotherhood have a clear tactical advantage like rivers and bunkers, also they are actually liked by the locals, and if midwestern brotherhood fought lanius, they would fuck Them up, while sure they give random tribals guns, they also give them military training, which means two things, brotherhood have far more numbers than lanius, and better equipment as guns are always better than swords, and they are trained better because hand to hand combat isn’t needed as much, also the brotherhood has access to supercomputers so imagine their technology
@@ultimatestuff7111 idk where you info that Lanius went to Texas because I dont remember that being mentioned anywhere in the games. We know he went to New Mexico and Colorado because he took Denver, but Denver and Texas are hella far away. No way he got to Texas

@@boombler4320 but it is definitely possible lanius has seen the bos chapter in northern Texas, Colorado is pretty close to northern Texas so it’s definitely possible lanius has gone there

You know when fallout 5 comes, maybe they might put us in Chicago or a dlc for it to look for the lost airship that crashed land in Chicago and look for any remnants only for the player to find a thriving settlements of Ghouls, Super mutants, and locals that are working with or for the Chicago Brotherhood of Steel, depending on how they present it is up to them.
I’ve always wanted a BOS as the main bad guys, with armies of conscripted mutants and raiders, with Power Armored Ghouls, and such.

I sure hope so. For someone who was born in the city of Chicago, it would be a strategic city to hold, especially if the Sears tower survived the nuclear fallout. It would not only make a good lookout tower overlooking the entire city, but also a good place to set up a communications relay too. 🤔
honestly im sick of seeing the Brotherhood appearing everywhere, can we have some new factions to fill in by now?
I feel if they ever do Chicago they will adapt the fallout tactics story roughly to it. And it’ll basically be the canon version of what happens

@Keller weskier I completely forgot about that. However I would love to see another in a modern generation game. Seeing a super mutant in power armor charging something would be terrifying!

@@dain2963 The issue is that the power armor would need to be customly fit. in Fallout Tactics, the mutants only threw on some plates and harnesses. Mutants have already been said to run head first into cross fire, just to laugh off the pain on the other side. theyre already tanky, or atleast were in the classic games. now their just different type of raider.

Didn't know there was more references to the Midwestern BoS. Only ever heard the "gone rogue, long story" line.
Seeing how the continued leadership of Arthur Maxson is up in the air by 4's varying endings, I'm gonna guess that the Chicago chapter's going to be involved next time the Brotherhood's used in the east coast, if they are.
ED-E in Fallout: New Vegas states to the courier that he's been through Chicago as there was an Enclave base there. I hope that we'll get a canon Fallout with Chicago. There's so many references to it already
3 possible game settings
Enclave and Midwest are fighting for the area
They combine into 1 faction
There both fighting, but there trying to convince special interests groups to join there aide
If they were to do a Fallout game in say, Detroit, you could easily have the Chicago Brotherhood and DC Brotherhood butt heads.
In a canon ending, I would think the bos win as they are realistically most likely to win, institutes leader is about to die, railroad are too small and insignificant, and minutemen are far too weak and annoying, I think if bos can get liberty prime running they slam institute
Worth noting that in Fallout Tactics the Eastern Brotherhood (Chicago) were also considered rogue. The whole reason they were sent east to begin with was that they were all considered the more radical elements of the organization, and it was believed that they'd be a bad influence on the youth, and that as long as they stayed mobile via airships they would stay on mission and not go native. Instead, they crashed, and since they were cut off their more "extreme" notions were allowed to grow. This chapter of the BOS grew into a full fledged empire, because they were expansionist, as well as inclusive. So fallout tactics not being canon doesn't rule any of that out, and from what was said in 3, we know they still exist, they were still radicals, and more inclusive. New Vegas confirmed they'd expanded to the Colorado, so we know they're still an empire too. The only stuff up in the air about them now is their exact story as to how they became an empire, and the villains they fought along the way are non canon. But the Midwest Brotherhood and its general nature are still pretty much confirmed.
A game set in Chicago could either be a redemption for Bethesda or a great return for Obsidian.

Edit: It would be very cool to see how the Chicago BOS differs from other BOS maybe they have really gone rogue, maybe they have found something and that's why they have been very silent and maybe they just have communication problems. A Fallout game set in Chicago now that would be very interesting.
100% this Brotherhood Chapter would be more akin to the wasteland culture, the insertion of tribals shaping their own culture in a new fashion without eliminating the military and chivalrious aspects but forging a more unique look, and the use of mutants expanding it.
It would be interesting to see the Midwest again.

Is it fair to call Boston a "core power base" of the Brotherhood, like DC is? The Brotherhood's presence in Boston isn't much more of an occupation, in which they'll inevitably return to the Citadel - by Prydwen or on foot, depending on the ending.
I'd love to see them explored in a future game. I know the lore is kind of up in the air, but I alot of those old ideas from Tactics are good. And seeing an inclusive Brotherhood(as the Midwestern BOS also accepted Ghouls) would be really interesting. Maybe they could be working on a cure for the feral condition of ghouls(much like the cure for the Nightkin schizophrenia in New Vegas), that'd be a good story arch. Maybe you'd have to take blood samples if you took out ferals, and you could form alliances with ghouls and recruit them into the Chicago chapter. It'd be especially helpful since most ghouls will be 200 something years old, and thus probably have at least some level of Pre-War knowledge. They'd make great scribes, and could be sent in as infantry to highly irradiated places. Whereas the Metas(as Fawkes calls them), would be great for support/heavy weapons, and if they were highly intelligent (like Marcus for instance), and were skilled in medicine, they could carry great quantities of medical materials due to their strength, making them great as doctors.

Yes. As it stands they exist but odds are the events did not play out how they do in the game. I expect we may see them sometime in the future and their history will be adapted from tactics with some rewrites

Yeah. They exist, are an empire including mutants, and are expansionist with at least scouts as far as Colorado. The only bit that's not canon is the villains from tactics like the calculator and the exact story of how they came to be
I like the idea that their brotherhood is in a civil war with 1 faction recruiting natives ghoul and super mutants and the other focusing on killing them, however due to the first one's numerical advtagr the second has aligned with the enclave in the region. With the enclave being the more reasonable of the 2 Factions.
Tactics is canon. Bethesda has taken so many things from Tactics, that it literally can't be non canon at this point.

I hate how bethesda retconned Sarah Lyons as Elder for FA4, and NOTHING you did in FA3 carries to FA4. Not to mention anything that happened in the game at all.
And the Midwestern and Texas BOS are CANON, just because you bought an IP it does not mean that you can retcon everything done on said IP before you bought it

Chicago would be a good place for the enclave to re-emerge. Hoi4 old world blues mod and the enclave redux mod expands the idea that the secretary of the interior is there so got some good ideas already 🤷♂️
I always thought after new Vegas the next fallout would be in the Midwest and it’s right before the ncr and the eastern chapter go to war. The game would be based around getting other factions to support which side you wanted and dropping a nuke on either side you ended up going against. My childhood dreams are no over with the show being out.

New Navarro is on the northern Chicago docks (probably includes navy pier) and we know the Chicago Brotherhood exists, includes mutants, and has scribes a far out as Denver. Very feasible that the city proper is a "neutral zone" for the two of them.

the best conclusion of the MW-BoS was them sealing themselves into Vault 0 due to the breakdown of their control, from my understanding it was like... the Legion or something? The Chicago being the other half of the MW-BoS but abandoned or not able to make it to Vault 0.

My head cannon is that elder lyons died and when maxson took over Sarah Lyons and her supporters were exiled to Cleveland on “mission” to recover technology but they end up making another chapter after finding a few old marine and army bases and recruiting a bunch of locals
