I fell in love with these guys in 1964. I was 15 yrs and I was lucky as a boomer to grow with the best music in the 60's and 70's. I have every vinyl record album they made. 💖
My dad used to sing The Righteous Brothers songs to my mother. I was born in 64 and so glad I was raised on this music!

They were very popular and very soulful. You might want to check out a couple more of their songs like Rock 'n roll heaven and Soul and Inspiration. Love songs and lyrics of this generation were more tender and respectful than now. Another great voice was that of Elvis Presley especially when he did ballads. A huge range and wonderful tone. First of all, this is a truly GREAT SONG! The mix of Phil Spector's wall of sound, the lyrics, the tidal wave of background singers, the orchestration and most of all, the beauty of two human voices carrying this remarkably beautiful message of lost love......it is eternal stuff.

This is a favorite for me. Years ago my boyfriend (now husband) and I were at a Captain (rum) pool party, I thought we were leaving so I started to walk next thing I know he grabs my hand and starts singing this to me in front of about 100 people we didn’t know. He got a resounding applause from everyone.

The expression on your face says it all. These guys had such amazing voices. From tender to full-out... perfection. And this was before any of that autotune rubbish. And ladies are still swooning to this :) They weren't full-on sex symbols (try Tom Jones for that - if you haven't heard him sing "It's Not Unusual", do so!), but there would've been a lot of babies born thanks to this music! The actress you were trying to remember from Ghost was Demi Moore, BTW.
Yes, they were dreamy. The only singer's picture I ever kept in my dresser was Bobby Hatfield's, when I was 11! I kept that picture for years.

It's my favorite by them. btw, back in the late '80s I saw Bill Medley at the Righteous Brothers Hop Restaurant in Fountain Valley, California, while I was fixing the venue's copier. Medley was coaching several singers for an upcoming show. Didn't get the chance to talk to him, though.

I'm a new subscriber! The Righteous Brothers were incredibly smooth. Amazing the talent that was out there in the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s....
I recommend also checking out Elvis Presley's live Vegas version of "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" from 1970. It's a little more raw with a lot more physicality and soul.
I think it is time for Pink to react to Soul and Inspiration. AND the ultimate love song: I Just Want to Make Love to You.

The Righteous Brothers were definitely sex symbols for adolescent and teenage girls in the 1960s. I would not be surprised that some of them had photo collections from Rock music magazines of the era, and perhaps a wall poster. Wall posters were just starting to get popular during the 1960s. The most popular posters from Rock acts were ones by The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Yardbirds, The Who, Jimi Hendrix Experience, Cream, and Jefferson Airplane.

While I love seeing Haley sing, watching the version that has the full commercial ad is most impactful in my opinion. There is a version that cuts in and out between Haley and the ad, but seeing the full ad is so cool. I think you'd like it if you have not already seen it.
