Awesome video guys. This place is so close to me and will defenitly visit soon. The purpose of a Lighthouse is that they serve to warn mariners of dangerous shallows and perilous rocky coasts, and they help guide vessels safely into and out of harbors.
Thanks for the info 👍 wonder if technology has gotten good enough so we don't need to rely on light houses as much. Really cool place to visit hope you enjoy 😊✌
15 minutes nap? I admire you! They say those are the best naps but I always need at least 30 minutes lol. Oh look at the lighthouse!! We love lighthouses, the East Coast, especially the north part has amazing lighthouses.
Sometimes our naps can turn into full on sleeps hahaha 💤😪😴 luckily Peter recovered after that 15 mins! 😂👍 Yes! Neat lighthouse ay? Can you go up those ones too?
Hey Peter and Yen!! Aww... Qiu Qiu!! What a beautiful dog. That's so awesome you're pet sitting/house sitting for the parents. We are looking forward to your adventure today. Love your food stop.. Those Paninis looked so delicious. There is some bulk to that super hearty meal. The price wasn't bad either!! Pretty inexpensive for 2 people to eat!
Bakeries in New Zealand are typically fairly priced compared to cafes or restaurants. Usually I would get a pie which are normally only $3 us and so filling. But gotta change it up from time to time hahaha.
It's great that you're still finding new places you haven't been to before in your home country. I've been in NZ seven years now and I'm slowly exploring as much as I can!
We're so lucky that New Zealand has a wealth of different interesting activities that we can do to keep making these vlogs even though it's quite a small country 😁 do you have any favorites during your travels Leah?

It also has a pretty cafe! :) love the bee slomo shot ! 🐝 And it's good that you can enter the light house! the wooden structure is so cool. beautiful sceneries from up there too. It would be cool to spend night there if it's possible. 😀 Probably can see lots of stars with sea breeze and wave sounds! Thanks for sharing guys! Can't wait for your next destination.

Happy New Year, Peter and Yen. Thank you for showing us the lavender farm in South Auckland. Last time, we visited a lavender farm in Waikato. We really enjoyed that trip.
Happy new year Izzy 🎉🙂 Hope 2021 is a blessed and wonderful year for you! Lavender farms are awesome. Glad we finally got to see one here in full bloom 😁💜👍
Yea really great! The business wanted to do something nice for locals during these covid times so decided not to charge for visits to their huge farm! 💜
Hey guys, happy new year’s and good to see you guys are doing good! That’s a nice spot in Karaka...Luv that you guys keep finding nice little gems in NZ.
Hello Peter & Yen We hope all is well. May we take this opportunity to wish you a very Happy New Year and may it be will with many blessings and much happiness. Love and Light Sarah and Glenn
Happy new year guys !. Went to Lavender farm today and it was awesome !...half of Auckland was there so its not such a secret anymore !. Best view at the heads is to climb over the small wooden fence...there is a grass ledge you can sit on with awesome views down to the water Last time I went out there the lighthouse was locked due Covid so good to see it open again !. Looooong way out there....no wonder Peter needed a nap 😴 !.
Hey bro happy new years! Hahaha really? Didn't realise its so busy now. Everyone is out for something interesting to do over the summer holidays 🤔 😁 ooooo the view down to the water sounds mint 👌 those antihistamines plus the long drive definitely took a bit out of me 😅 did you have a good new years eve celebration?
Yeah ! Stayed up with wifey and brought in the new year with a few drinks. Fish and chips today at the famous Kaiaua fish n chip shop after Lavender stop.. Hey !.....one question. .how do you guys stay so slim !!!?. Guess you still have fast metabolisms ?...
Arrrr nice that sounds awesome way to spend new years eve. 😅 I exercise 10 to 20 min a day everyday with high intensity. Yen just has good genes but her new years resolution is to exercise more 😂 but other than that we're both pretty active and that generally helps a lot... we only do it so we can eat more 😅
We have a friend that has a lavendar tree 🌳 she normally gives me a bunch when they're in bloom cause I really love the smell of them. Will let you guess who it is that's writing this 😂
Ooo nice range of pastries there! The lavender farm looks incredible 😍😍😍 omg the whole field to yourself!! Not a secret spot anymore after famous UA-camr Peter and Yen features this place 😉

😁 glad you're enjoying the vlogs and always appreciate the kind words. The lavendar farm and lighthouse make for an awesome lil getaway perfect for a relaxed day out 😊✌
Cool lighthouse, have added it in my road trip wish list. Lavender farm looks good, will check it as well. Last one I've visited is in Alphra farm in Te Awamutu. Awesome vids as always guys. Keep it up :)

But it was great in bloom and hopefully they'll keep adding new things to their farm like lavender products and maybe interactive photo spots 😁 the lighthouse is so cool that you get to go up and walk all around it too! Hope you enjoy both when you eventually make it 😁👍👍
When Peter said the paniniwich (don’t wanna pick sides - you both were right😁) was going to give him a lot of energy, my first thought was “With that much substantial weight looks like it’s going give Peter mega food coma.” Sure enough...🥱😴😴😴😴🤤 Paniniwich: 1 Peter: 0 Views were awesome! Thanks for sharing two beautiful places! Happy New Year!

@@PeterandYen I feel you... I find myself napping more and more...and looking forward to them as the highlight of my day😁😴 Speaking of naps... I joke with my wife she’s on a grandma sleep schedule.. for New Year’s Eve she was out by around 9pm.
Hahahaha well in the end of the day that beauty sleep is very important. Must be the secret of your 6 pack regardless of before and after eating junk food 😂
Amazing view from the lighthouse!! Would love to visit the inside of the lighthouse one day 😁 lighthouse is like a traffic light/control for ships isn't it? 🤔
Oh wow! We have a lavender farm not too far from here but it's nowhere this nice. I do lavender aromatherapy and would go bananas there. Love the lighthouse and the views guys. And that's a good question Peter. Not sure what they do up there.
Oooo that's so cool! I can't wait for them to harvest all the lavender and start making and selling lavender products in their shop 😁💜 Funnily the next place we visited we learnt a bit more about lighthouses and watch towers!! 😆

Hi Teri 👋🙂 Thank you! Glad you enjoy our videos 😊 ahh that's a shame but hopefully our borders will open again soon and you'll be able to visit NZ 🤞🍀🇳🇿
@@PeterandYen Didn't need you to make me NZ envious. Until about 10 years ago, belgian summers would be a mixture of rain, some sunshine and temperatures of around 25 C with the occasional spike of 27-28 degrees - just like your summers. But since a few years, our summers have been getting increasingly dry and hot. Last year we didn't see a drop of rain for 6 weeks and we've had the longest heat spell in our history, with daytime temperatures soaring to 38 C on a regular basis. Our natural underground water reserves still haven't recovered from last summer's drought even though we're having a rather wet winter. That's global warming to Belgium...
Yikes that's a long dry and heat spell Bert! Climate change is so evident around the world huh. We're having a rainy summer's day here today but it's welcomed since we've had some scorching days lately plus with Auckland weather it'll probably be sunny again before we know it! Btw when is your big day? Must be coming up soon right? Best wishes from us both 🙂🎉🙌
@@PeterandYen 25/01, so 1,5 weeks from now. It'll be a very discreet thing (only 8 people allowed in the city hall and no drinks or get-togethers afterwards due to covid restrictions). Thanks for the wishes! x!
Hahaha I think even without our vlog the farm got super popular over the summer. Useful for all the things mentioned above plus I believe some species can be grown for medicinal purposes as they have anti bacterial properties once the oil is extracted.
So Peter & Nick are the same, got hayfever 😅 We had to postpone some video before bcoz of his horrible hayfever so i guess I have to give him stronger meds next time haha
😂 all the rolling farm lands and flowers always wreak havoc on my sinuses during December then magically it gets used to it by January 😅 hope you had an amazing new years and an even better 2021!
Awesome :) Just returned from Karangahake Gorge and Waihi. Thought of you guys as reckon it’d make excellent video content - full of rich gold mining history, well preserved long tunnels, glow worms, ginormous mining pits and beautiful countryside. Maybe one for the list! HNY!!
Ooooo yes! Thanks for thinking about us Tom. We're planning on doing that next week 🙌 so excited. Yen actually planned for a trip there for a group of us years back for my birthday but somehow we all went on the wrong track and ended up going no where for 5 hours in the rain hahahaha very memorable.
@@PeterandYen Awesome! Yep I came across it unexpectedly after a jaunt in Coromandel last week. All a bit Wild West, but very interesting (Martha’s mine in Waihi is crazy!). There is a nice restaurant opposite the waterfall in Karangahake called the Falls Retreat I think. Fingers crossed weather is nicer than Auckland today hey!!
@@PeterandYen I know Peter has a love of pies so if you happen to go near Tauranga while in Waihi next week check out Patrick's Pies at Bethlehem. Guy has won more gold medals than anyone else in the annual NZ pie competition. You won't be sorry 😋
Falls retreat and Martha's mine got it 😁👍 we were gonna do a bike ride around the area towards the falls but will check out access to the mine from that transportation method. Steve E thanks for the recommendation! Way back when we filmed the best eats Tauranga video I wanted to go to that pie shop but they were closed for that day 😥 need to go back sometime just for that pie shop. If memory serves me right they won quite a few gold awards and usually for the gourmet pie 🥧 mmmmmmm yeah... unfortunately not this trip but soon I hope!
@@PeterandYen stay at the falls retreat! It is a nice getaway for Aucklanders and the highlight is always the food. The head chef is the owner who runs the place & accomodations with his wife. I also recommend checking out Whatipu Coast walk in West Auckland. You’ll be looking at the Manukau lighthouse from the other side of the sea. Spectacular views from there.
still finding so many little gems for me to salivate over. dont know when i will get back there the dreaded covid is still running riot here in the uk. this government cannot seem to control it . still lets hope it will decline soon yeah . and as always i so look forward to your happy and smiley videos ,, happy new year peter and yen , and happy new year new zealand

O really? Most rural areas we go to are pretty nice. Wonder what they look like in UK 🤔 curious now
2021 let’s gooooo 👏🏻
Letsss goooooooo 😂🤙
Like how you shot that intro!
Cheers guys 😁✌
The Lavender field is no longer a “secret” after your vlog! 🤭 I am curious, what are some uses of Lavender? Soaps, candles and cosmetics?
Hahaha I think even without our vlog the farm got super popular over the summer. Useful for all the things mentioned above plus I believe some species can be grown for medicinal purposes as they have anti bacterial properties once the oil is extracted.
Sooo good.. NZ is so so pretty.
Yeah! This is such a cool lil hidden spot 😁🤙🌿
Happy New Year 2021 guys!! 😁
Happy 2021 🥂😁
Awww man, those paninis looked dang good! Oh the hayfever has been wickid right?! might have to find yourself some ati drowsy antihistimes!
Hahaha yea that one tiny pill just knocked him out 🤣
So Peter & Nick are the same, got hayfever 😅 We had to postpone some video before bcoz of his horrible hayfever so i guess I have to give him stronger meds next time haha
O my gosh usually its really bad for a week or two but while we were in karaka it was unbearable. Totally out of control 😑
Poor sleepy Peter! I’m sure the lavender farm didn’t help his drowsiness! 😆
😂 all the rolling farm lands and flowers always wreak havoc on my sinuses during December then magically it gets used to it by January 😅 hope you had an amazing new years and an even better 2021!
God bless
It is very unusual place..awesome scenery
NZ is full of great scenery :) nice that there's more lavender farms popping up too!
Was that a bird crossing the road? 7:31
Wow nice spotting Sue! Yeah that's a pheasant. Don't often see them in the wild but guess it was our lucky day. Very pretty lil things
Seems like naps are making as frequent an appearance as food in your vlogs. 🤣
They really are hahaha 😂 just part of our days now that we're older lolol 😅
still finding so many little gems for me to salivate over. dont know when i will get back there the dreaded covid is still running riot here in the uk. this government cannot seem to control it . still lets hope it will decline soon yeah . and as always i so look forward to your happy and smiley videos ,, happy new year peter and yen , and happy new year new zealand
Barry! Happy new year to you 😁✌ hope you're taking care over there in the UK the infections numbers are getting out of control. Hope you do get to come and visit sometime in 2021. This lighthouse is such an awesome find made for an awesome day out 😁👍
Great content! Do you happen to know when they are going to harvest the lavender? Definitely want to go before that!! 😊
Thank you! I think I remember on their Facebook page reading a comment that it was around Feb/March so probably good to go now and while they're so nicely in bloom too! 🙂💜🌾 And then maybe return after to get some lavender products hahaha 😁👍 that's what I'm (Yen) am planning to do anyway lol 😆👍
@@PeterandYen Hahaha! I think I (Ami) would do the same! :D
😂🙌💜

@@PeterandYen Cool looking forward to that video :) cool place.
For the benefit of those viewers who might find this interesting! Many of the victims of the Orpheus are buried in the small graveyard at the Anglican Church in Onehunga Mall
Thanks for that info Orlando always interesting finding about history of New Zealand.
Hi friends
Hello 👋🙂
Lovely 😍💋 💝💖❤️
😁 thank you glad you enjoyed the video ✌
Wow the worst shipwreck in New Zealand history
So sad 😞
