Dude timberline employees are literally the best employees out of any mountain I’ve been to, every time I’m in a lift line it’s just an absolute vibe and you feel like they are happy to be there and happy you are there

I've never been, but Mammoth is a vibe too.
I ski at timberline. My little brother (hes 6) is super good at skiing and there is this one lift operator that knows him and they always say hi when they see eachother.
My home mountain 🤙🏾
Part of the reason the mountain feels so big despite being "only" 11,000 feet is because the nearest pass is at 4400ft, the valleys are at sea level.
Colorado might have 14ers and overall elevation, but this area has mountains that are basically rising out of the ocean, more or less. Portland is at like 250ft elevation average. The timberline lodge is at the top end of the winter runs, bottom of the summer runs, at about 5800 ft i believe.
You should have mentioned the hotel exterior was used in the movie Shining as the hotel in the movie!!
This is where i learned to snowboard a few months ago. Best experience ever.

I moved from oregon to wyoming a few years back and my god i miss the views and scenery are insane I miss it so much

I hope the next time you are out that way in the winter you can make it to Meadows. I've seen some great runs through trees with massive hits in the forest.

I live in Missoula Montana, a great ski town as well! But it’s also only 8 hours away from Timberline Lodge if you drive. I’m looking forward to this place!

I’ve been hoping for this exact video! Anyone know if the runs are family friendly? Would my wife and 8yr old daughter (beginner-intermediate) do okay on Palmer in late June - early July? They typically stick to blue runs here in the PNW.
Around that time it’s pretty but a black run only on the east coast. Super steep groomer. The earlier in June the better for your family 🤘🏼
