Thunder Dragon is still my favorite deck, but Labrynth is the only deck I've tried completely maxing out its rarity. I've got ten Collector's Rares, two Quarter Century Secret Rares and one Starlight. It's just a very aesthetically pleasing archetype. Hope the furniture monsters get foil upgrades in the 2023 Mega Tins.
Yess I agree about Labrynth! Was excited about the deck on release because the playstyle seemed fun and the art of it phenomenal, so I've been all about that deck for over a year now and just recently finished maxing out my Labrynth core of cards! I just want that shiny cardboard in my favorite deck lol.
25:58 I can't unsee the toast now. Bottom left of the original art, the "negative space" of his cape and the border of the card art kinda looks like a single slice of toast/bread. Seeing how the archetype is based on alchemy and the turning of objects to gold, I can't help but imagine all of the Golden Lord's food turns to gold too. Though, he is a zombie, so not sure how much that'd actually affect him.

Quick Yugioh rules, then: -On your turn there is the main phase 1, where you can play monsters and spells/traps from your hand, then the combat phase where you can choose attack targets for your monsters, then main phase 2 where you may play cards from your hand again if you want, then you end your turn and the opponent does their turn and so on. -Every turn you're only allowed to play max 1 monster card, unless you do it by an effect saying it's a Special Summon which means it's free and you can do as many of these as you want in addition to your normal card. -The number of stars on a monster is the level. If it's level 1-4 you can play it without paying anything, level 5-6 can only be played down by trading a monster you already have alive and discarding that to play yours (if not using Special Summons, this can take one turn to place it then wait for your next turn to play the upgrade), level 7+ needs to trade 2 monsters instead of 1. -Spells can freely be played on your main phase 1 or 2, traps must be laid down for one turn before you can activate them at all but after that can be activated in anyone's turn anytime you want. -Monster cards with special colors stay in the extra deck instead of the normal deck. Fusion monsters need a card that specifies how to summon it, but the others are Special Summons that just need to trade from specific monsters and are ready to use from the extra deck anytime as if you always have them in your hand: Links just need X monsters to trade for it, Xyz need a combination of monsters of certain levels, and Synchros need a Tuner monster and another monster.
Something i love about your Yu Gi Oh videos is the fact that you show a lot of "modern" cards (i'm still in the GX era😁 ) and most of them has really cool art. It means that when you show them, i'm actually searching for an image of those cards on google so that i can save it and maybe later buy them.
I know right? Sure goat maybe more enjoyable as a pastime, but I can't believe people can't see how cool and creative the new archetypes have become, not to mention how great the art has evolved, you would hardly see anything like the art in yugioh cards anywhere else.
My personal competitive deck is Virus control, which uses both the Lair of Darkness archetype and the Labrynth archetype to supplement the Virus cards.

I'm glad you enjoyed both my videos and my friends videos! Just to clarify, I'm not a part of any network, so I can't take credit for anything else my friends uploaded. I'm just an independent channel who works with some of my friends as cohosts. Regarding, Software Agents, they're friends I collab with sometimes, but we're only involved with each other's content when we are directly referenced in videos. The only other videos I work on directly are Judgment Meter's videos. However, I'm always happy to promote my friends' content on my channel to support them!
I'm always willing to help out a friend with capturing game footage, but outside of an occasional voiceover or gameplay for Software Agents, I'm not involved with their channel usually. I also haven't worked on any Marcel or Lost Archives videos, but I support their work! Please don't get confused! The "Lady with an Axe" is Lovely Labrynth of the Silver Castle. But there are still three monsters to come after Arias the Labrynth Butler.
Paleozoic just needs it's own Holeutea like card to be a more "modern" trap deck. it's effect just summons itself with discarding a paleo as "cost" to activate the turn it was set. triggering the paleo you just discarded
Ah my favourite was #2, I love how traptrix is a retrain of just a singular trap card from the first set into a whole forest of death. Also how their attack and defence equal the same, that was always cool even if it limited them. They are missing a monster with 2800 and 0 defence which I've always thought would be good to get like a normal summon enabling xyz card or something. Detach 1 material to normal summon a plant or insect type monster from your hand (or deck maybe?) if they got this they could be a tier 1 deck. I already beat snake eyes often enough to Warrent them giving it a chance. But mine is kinda fused with labyrnth, mainly to have a beatstick with anti targeting for 2 cards, I did have the searcher and the special summoner but they were too bricky alone.
Clearly Amazement went to the various worlds of Yu-Gi-Oh for his ride inspiration and found one of those creatures in the remains of the Ojama's homeland.
My honest suggestion for Judgment Meter is NOT to get into playing Yu-Gi-Oh. The lore and designs are fun, but those can be enjoyed without actually playing. The play itself is more addicting than it is fun, even for those without an addictive personality, and can be hard to quit. And that's not even factoring in the gambling aspects, or the decks that are aggressively unfun to play against, or other issues some people have.
i think a video where you talk about the most unique yugioh playstyles would make for a fascinating video, like how cardians make you play hanafuda, or super quants emulating the sentai/power rangers franchise.
I feel like the deal with Arlekino is that he’s normally devious, which is why he’s Dark, but his alt form is Light, because that’s when it’s time to stop jerk’n around and protect his friends…or something.
Judgment Meter says the oddest things and I love it! "I like the one with the skulls. She's just like, this is where I nap. I murdered 7 people to make my pillow." She said it with such joy 💀💀💀
I still make use of my Traptrix deck. Mine is more of a swarm control build. I make use of monsters like Parallel Xceed and Lord of Heavenly Prison. I have also found that Exoton Knight make for a nice disruption for my opponent
Hmm... 2 oddies: (1) VERY awkward that Lair of Darkness, Ladies of Lament + Virus not in the Top 10 Trap decks... any reason why? (2) Hmm... not played by many but Eldlich the Golden Lord, Eldlixir and Golden Land cards works VERY well with Statue of Anguish, Tiki Soul/Curse, Abyss Stungray, Slime / God Slime etc; esp when used with Angel Statue and other Floodgates + board wipes like Dark Hole (Eldlich can be indestructable by card effects), it can easily out any Traptrix boards. Maybe few may know it, but Armory Recall + Moon Mirror Gates are pretty fun with Golden Land and other Trap monsters. SIDE: Best versions of Labrynth and Eldlich are actually both floodgates deck types :^P SIDE: kinda weird that Uria, Lord of Searing Flames is not mentioned in the Tiki section >_< Regardless, cool video on Trap decks :^)
Why can you forget the Lair of Darkness archetype that will tribute your opponent's monsters for cost effects, lady laments ,trap virus and skill drain
As a Labrynth duelist I only have to say:"I see no god up here, except me!" Also, the figure with the Axe is Lovely. The one we don't know who it is yet, is the red sort on with what seems to be scizzors. Since we are in the garden she is probably the gardener.
I love Traptrix so much. They single handedly made Trap Holes relevant again, and they were always my favorite type of traps. Plus they are all based on insects and plants. Sundew, Butterworts, Tree Ants, Gloworms, Praying Mantises, and the good ol Venus Flytrap just to name a few.
Traptrix lore is fairly hilarious, and a bit of a commentary on how Konami saw their players. The 'characters' are really just lures used by carnivorous insects and plants, much like how some real life plants have parts that look like food or even breeding mates. Yes, Konami wants you to lure in your opponent with lolis.
You should have included Uria, Lord of Searing Flames in this list. It's one of the most iconic trap-focused monsters of all time and was a viable OTK strat back in the day. These days, it even has its own Continuous Trap, Hyper Blaze, plus the one that gets better with each Sacred Beast you have out
The second deck I ever played was Traptrix so I was doomed to love this style of play. Hell my favorite deck right now is Dinomorphia (if you need more reason to play it by the way read Ferret Flames, and know it effects Towers monsters) Also does anyone know how Atrax interacts with Jinzo? Which effect wins out?
In theory, Jinzo would be unable to negate the effect of any trap card activated while Atrax is on the field... and I say "in theory", because you can't activate traps while Jinzo is on the field lol Good thing Jinzo is not a common sight these days. I main Traptrix and that would be rough.

Regarding how the Amazement Arlekino's "good" version is dark while their "evil" version is light, don't forget that Yugi's signature monster was Dark Magician, a dark monster, and Kaiba's was Blue-Eyes, a light monster. Also keep in mind that worms were evil aliens and were light, and Ally of Justice were robots specifically designed to combat them and were dark. Just saying.

Wait, wait, wait, wait, Dinomorphia has a Counter Trap monster negate?! *WHY* is that card not in Master Duel when we've had two waves of Dinomorphia support?! Dinomorphia is one of my favorite decks because it's goddamn mechs and dinosaurs and because it was one of the only decks I could use during the hyper cancerous Tear format. Plus it can turn off the Kashtira main deck monsters. I feel no remorse using Labrynth
Dinomorophia Intact was released in January in Japan (May internationally), so it came out after all the other Dinomorphia cards. The last of the Dinomorphia cards before it was released were put in Master Duel in December, so it didn't exist for them to release early. Master Duel is likely holding it to be released with other cards from the set it was in IRL, which was the Kashtira set, so it's likely coming soon. I can't wait for it either! Dinomorphia is one of my Ranked decks.
The aesthetic of the Dinorphia archetype is very cool. Of course their best card is based on a T. rex, but I'm glad the other five members are creatures you don't see often apart from documentaries and Jurassic World Evolution 2 (Therizinosaurus, Diplodocus, Kentrosaurus, Geosternbergia, Archelon).

I always make Anomalocaris because he's cooler and more thematic. Sure I can make Toad (and it's an emergency "oh crap" button in my deck) but I'm playing Paleozoic, I wanna make my cool little archetype guy :( also I mostly play Master Duel, though Paleo's one of my few IRL decks, so I do have a version with toad in it
@@JudgmentMeter The basic gist is get your opponent's life points down to 0 using your various monsters spells and traps any fancy stuff is just overkill
So I've been talking to a lot of my friends about the fact that traps have basically fallen out of usability in terms of the modern game. I personally think it's a huge problem that people generally ignore a literal 1/3 of the entire card game. But the question is, how exactly do we FIX trap cards? How do we bring traps back into the same playing field as monsters and Spells? Well, this is my own personal opinion, but what's the number one problem with trap cards? They're too slow. You have to wait a turn in order to use them, and chances are, your opponent just destroys them next turn with heavy storm or something like that. Sure they could make traps you could use right away like infinite impermanence, but I don't think every trap should go this route. What about the ones you still need to set on the field and wait to use? Well... I think that most trap cards should come with some form of non negatable punishment to destroying them while they're face down. Something that makes it so that your opponent will have to think twice before simply wiping your board. The effect would have to be much weaker then the traps actual effect, but it would add a lot of value to trap cards. Take Mirror force for example. You play it face down, and a simple mystical space typhoon can destroy it and leave your opponent free to attack. But I think Mirror force could have an effect like: "If this card is destroyed by an opponents card effect while it's face down, your opponent can only attack with one of their monsters this turn." Or something like that. Maybe that's a bad example, but SOMETHIHG kinda like that. Basically, something like a Dark Coffin effect. The trap can still be negated if it's activated normally of course.
That's a good point. I don't quite know what type of playstyle I consider them since they've evolved a lot over the years. They started as Flip, but are nowhere near that playstyle anymore.
There was a theory that arlechino is the only "person" in the amusement park I wish konami would explain more, but then they moved to labyrinth stuff and give them more and more disgusting effects
Well, now that I've been tempted to explain how to play The Game by cards.Spells trap monster play by reading them first Can it be fun sure unless you're again?Somebody has a Meta deck that is like tier 1 tier 2 and supposed 2 or 0.Then it's not fun because they've already beat you even before the game started.
At least that would mean we're on turn 3 or 4 since we'd both have to have had Judgment set for a turn to be able to use them, so hopefully I'd have the board established with a Rexterm or Kentregina.

UGH!!! LABRYNTHS!! of course it's Labrynths!! When I first started with Master Duel my first deck was Cyber Dragon, my gf always beat my butt with Labrynths!! It got to the point where I made Anti-Trap/Spell deck just so I don't have to worry about it, being Ancient Gears.

I now run a traptrix deck. Never thought id run a trap based deck before, but now its easily my favorite deck to play.
Judgment Meter says the oddest things and I love it! "I like the one with the skulls. She's just like, this is where I nap. I murdered 7 people to make my pillow." She said it with such joy 💀💀💀

I still make use of my Traptrix deck. Mine is more of a swarm control build. I make use of monsters like Parallel Xceed and Lord of Heavenly Prison. I have also found that Exoton Knight make for a nice disruption for my opponent
Where are Lady of Lament cards 😔 They are what holds Lair of Darkness as an archetype together...
Hmm... 2 oddies:
(1) VERY awkward that Lair of Darkness, Ladies of Lament + Virus not in the Top 10 Trap decks... any reason why?
(2) Hmm... not played by many but Eldlich the Golden Lord, Eldlixir and Golden Land cards works VERY well with Statue of Anguish, Tiki Soul/Curse, Abyss Stungray, Slime / God Slime etc; esp when used with Angel Statue and other Floodgates + board wipes like Dark Hole (Eldlich can be indestructable by card effects), it can easily out any Traptrix boards. Maybe few may know it, but Armory Recall + Moon Mirror Gates are pretty fun with Golden Land and other Trap monsters.
SIDE: Best versions of Labrynth and Eldlich are actually both floodgates deck types :^P
SIDE: kinda weird that Uria, Lord of Searing Flames is not mentioned in the Tiki section >_<

I love Traptrix so much. They single handedly made Trap Holes relevant again, and they were always my favorite type of traps. Plus they are all based on insects and plants. Sundew, Butterworts, Tree Ants, Gloworms, Praying Mantises, and the good ol Venus Flytrap just to name a few.

Traptrix lore is fairly hilarious, and a bit of a commentary on how Konami saw their players.
The 'characters' are really just lures used by carnivorous insects and plants, much like how some real life plants have parts that look like food or even breeding mates.

You should have included Uria, Lord of Searing Flames in this list. It's one of the most iconic trap-focused monsters of all time and was a viable OTK strat back in the day. These days, it even has its own Continuous Trap, Hyper Blaze, plus the one that gets better with each Sacred Beast you have out
The second deck I ever played was Traptrix so I was doomed to love this style of play. Hell my favorite deck right now is Dinomorphia (if you need more reason to play it by the way read Ferret Flames, and know it effects Towers monsters)
Also does anyone know how Atrax interacts with Jinzo? Which effect wins out?
In theory, Jinzo would be unable to negate the effect of any trap card activated while Atrax is on the field... and I say "in theory", because you can't activate traps while Jinzo is on the field lol
Good thing Jinzo is not a common sight these days. I main Traptrix and that would be rough.
I'm happy to hear that Konami supports Traps, I love traps, I'm just disappointed that Astolfo in YGP is a Monster rather than a Trap

Regarding how the Amazement Arlekino's "good" version is dark while their "evil" version is light, don't forget that Yugi's signature monster was Dark Magician, a dark monster, and Kaiba's was Blue-Eyes, a light monster. Also keep in mind that worms were evil aliens and were light, and Ally of Justice were robots specifically designed to combat them and were dark. Just saying.

Wait, wait, wait, wait, Dinomorphia has a Counter Trap monster negate?! *WHY* is that card not in Master Duel when we've had two waves of Dinomorphia support?! Dinomorphia is one of my favorite decks because it's goddamn mechs and dinosaurs and because it was one of the only decks I could use during the hyper cancerous Tear format. Plus it can turn off the Kashtira main deck monsters.
I feel no remorse using Labrynth
Dinomorophia Intact was released in January in Japan (May internationally), so it came out after all the other Dinomorphia cards. The last of the Dinomorphia cards before it was released were put in Master Duel in December, so it didn't exist for them to release early. Master Duel is likely holding it to be released with other cards from the set it was in IRL, which was the Kashtira set, so it's likely coming soon. I can't wait for it either! Dinomorphia is one of my Ranked decks.
The aesthetic of the Dinorphia archetype is very cool. Of course their best card is based on a T. rex, but I'm glad the other five members are creatures you don't see often apart from documentaries and Jurassic World Evolution 2 (Therizinosaurus, Diplodocus, Kentrosaurus, Geosternbergia, Archelon).

So I've been talking to a lot of my friends about the fact that traps have basically fallen out of usability in terms of the modern game. I personally think it's a huge problem that people generally ignore a literal 1/3 of the entire card game. But the question is, how exactly do we FIX trap cards? How do we bring traps back into the same playing field as monsters and Spells?
Well, this is my own personal opinion, but what's the number one problem with trap cards? They're too slow. You have to wait a turn in order to use them, and chances are, your opponent just destroys them next turn with heavy storm or something like that. Sure they could make traps you could use right away like infinite impermanence, but I don't think every trap should go this route. What about the ones you still need to set on the field and wait to use? Well... I think that most trap cards should come with some form of non negatable punishment to destroying them while they're face down. Something that makes it so that your opponent will have to think twice before simply wiping your board. The effect would have to be much weaker then the traps actual effect, but it would add a lot of value to trap cards. Take Mirror force for example. You play it face down, and a simple mystical space typhoon can destroy it and leave your opponent free to attack. But I think Mirror force could have an effect like: "If this card is destroyed by an opponents card effect while it's face down, your opponent can only attack with one of their monsters this turn." Or something like that. Maybe that's a bad example, but SOMETHIHG kinda like that. Basically, something like a Dark Coffin effect.
The trap can still be negated if it's activated normally of course.
All of these mispronunciations have to be on purpose at this point

That's a good point. I don't quite know what type of playstyle I consider them since they've evolved a lot over the years. They started as Flip, but are nowhere near that playstyle anymore.

Dinomorphia players, when I play my Harpy's feather duster and counter their Solemn Judgemnt with my own Solemn Judgement.
At least that would mean we're on turn 3 or 4 since we'd both have to have had Judgment set for a turn to be able to use them, so hopefully I'd have the board established with a Rexterm or Kentregina.

UGH!!! LABRYNTHS!! of course it's Labrynths!! When I first started with Master Duel my first deck was Cyber Dragon, my gf always beat my butt with Labrynths!! It got to the point where I made Anti-Trap/Spell deck just so I don't have to worry about it, being Ancient Gears.
