This is a hilariously well-written theory, and is my new headcanon. Although I don't think that Kaiba would willingly create the Sacred Beasts if they could be used against him - I think it's a little more likely that Kagemaru used Kaiba's technology in secret, as we know that Kaibacorp has a long history of poor security when it comes to people infiltrating and using their company's tech.
I think that makes more sense, even if kagemaru brought the idea to kaiba and he likes it, I doubt he'd actually tell kagemaru that and just develop it in secret. It's more likely kagemaru just used his tech in secret like you said
@@kanekikingstorm2113 True, but also, given that Kagemaru co-founded Duel Academy with Kaiba, I'm sure he already had all of the security clearance he needed.
I like the idea that kaiba gets asked about the new duel academy, that he had no idea was being made, and he thinks to himself "duel academy? That's genius I'm glad I thought of it" and just rolls with it not even knowing he didn't make it
This could also work to explain why the Sacred Beasts have such unique tribute mechanics. Raviel requires Fiend monsters specifically, Uria requires Trap Cards and Hamon requires Continuous Spells. If they’re Alchemical beings, then it makes sense that their summon mechanics would require you to turn a specific something into something else. Like equivalent exchange. As opposed to the God Cards who just require a large sacrifice of other Monsters, as gods often do.
It also makes sense since Raviel, the counterpart to Obelisk, seems to be the main monster, the head of the Sacred Beast. And who did Obelisk belong to? Kaiba. He made the counterpart to his God card the head of the new man made "god trio".
Equivalent exchange is an invention of FMA, irl alchemy was founded on the very opposite idea, that you could create something greater than the sum of its parts.
The idea that Kaiba founded Duel Academy for the specific purpose of powering up some evil god cards and that the entire student body is an unwitting test group is legit so much better of a plot than whatever season 2 was doing.
Something I was hoping you'd mention that strengthens this idea that tiny bit more: The sudden foray into Judaism doesn't seem so out-of-left-field when you remember that the main character is straight-up named Judai.
This is something I actually want to tackle in another video. There is a surprising amount of Jewish imagery and symbolism in GX, which I want to talk about in a video called "The Many Themes of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX." Not sure it'll be my next video, but it's in the queue.
Honestly, thank you so much for saying that. I'm seeing some mistakes some people have pointed out in the comments, but it really was important to me that I be as culturally accurate and respectful as possible. So hearing that from someone who is a part of the culture being discussed really means a lot.
I still believe the Sacred Beasts have a strong connection to the Supreme King given Kagemaru stated he needed Jaden's soul to fully control them implying the Supreme King is the only being capable of fully controlling them and given Yubel is meant to be the King's Guardian and she absorbed so much duel energy from other duelist Jaden included this explains why she's able to control them too when she got em.
Do you think Jadens "exceptional spirit energy" described in season 1 was foreshadowing for the supreme kings soul within him? I'd like to think so but it's not clear how much of every Yu-Gi-Oh series is actually planned out from the Start
@@SaiyoNot I’d say it’s half and half. Considering he’s given Winged Kuriboh by Yugi, and he’s capable of seeing duel spirits, that’s the result of his impressive spiritual energy. But it also leaves enough room for future development, which likely ended up with him becoming the Supreme King
Kagemaru has little reason to know this about Jaden. And considering after losing to Jaden he "turns over a new life" there isn't a reason why he wouldn't inform Jaden of his Supreme King nature if that was the case.
The "Supreme King" that Jaden is a reincarnation of is, most likely, a reference to King Solomon (I'm not going to go into details of why right now, just check around the similarities if you guys want to know), and because of that, I believe he wanted Jaden's soul because, just as King Solomon, he was able to comunicate to, subdue and lead "demons" (AKA all sorts of powerful, independent and not necessarily evil spirits, the definition of demons back in that time was different than nowadays, it was similar to demons in traditional eastern cultures), and those abilities would be necessary to handle powerful creatures like the Sacred Beasts without the help of a equally powerful artifact like the Millenium Items
@@LeyvatenLoop Okay but why wouldn't he tell Jaden this? Like afterward... and how did he learn Jaden was this. Like consider that while it might reference Solomon, The Supreme King is still some ancient king from some alternate dimension or the past. Kagemaru really has no source of information on that.
A Millenium World version of The Prince of Eqypt? You'd have to convince Konami that they'd actually make money by retelling a significant story in 2 (3?) very big and active religions that would probably target specifically fans of the manga and DM era, and that profit would have to outweigh all the foreign backlash. That said, I am all for it, take my money! I swear, you put way more though into this than the actual writers of GX. But that's what makes this so great.
As a Hebrew person who learned the Torah since first grade, I can tell you that my little Hebrew heart is dancing and you are right and the timelords are also named after Hebrew angels. I say your research is correct
@@nivgaming1255 So do Hebrew teaching really place Urial and Azrael as the same being, because if not he got at least two points wrong as I know Osiris isn't the Egyptian god of the Underworld.
Okay while I don’t think Kaiba had a hand in the sacred beasts, personally I’d be more inclined to believe that Kagemaru just did all this behind Kaiba’s back and used his company’s technology to make the cards, the sacred beasts being homunculus copies of the gods… actually makes a surprising amount of sense 😕
indeed kaiba is not evil or anything hell the dude builds theme parks for poor kids i think its more likely kaiba was shown the cards he was interested but saw they where dangerous and demanded they be sealed away kagamaru then faked the sealing

I came here to mention that the Three Phantasms are all named after Archangels, so good work with your research finding that Hamon = Archangel Gabriel, so now I don't need to explain that part. The card Judai used to defeat Kagemaru and the Three Phantasms, 'Sabatiel - The Philosopher's Stone' is named after Sabbathiel, an alias usd by the Archangel Michael, the chief Archangel and right hand of Yahweh. Along those lines, Raviel is probably named after Raphael rather than Raziel, meaning the 4 cards all together are named after the 4 most well known Archangels (Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel) Based on that, the lore implication seems to be that the Three Phantasms are twisted apparitions of Gabriel, Raphael and Uriel, and Sabatiel is a card forged by the power of Michael to stop them from destroying the world on Yahweh's behalf, hence why Sabatiel disintegrated after the Three Phantasms were defeated. Incidentally, the text on the Three Phantasms cards is written in Hebrew in the anime. And another Phantasm card "Phantasm Emperor Trilojig" was used by a character called Eve in the Arc-V manga, named after the Judeo-Christian Eve of the creation myth. And their field spell 'Fallen Paradise' is a corrupted version of the Garden of Eden. So the Phantasm cards are clearly very deeply connected to Hebrew mythology.
Interesting theory. I also proposed that the reason the Phantasm look so similar to the Egyptian Gods is meant to both display their power and mock the actual Egyptian Gods. It's kind of a similar idea to Ninetails in Okami, where the second act boss of the game sees itself as being very close to a deity similar to the various Brush Gods in the game; to the point where they'll have statues, a constellation, have a mostly white fur body with streaks of red, and even use brush techniques just like the main character, Amaterasu. It also directly mocks Amaterasu by wearing a white mask with red markings, and Ninetails' symbol is on the moon, in contrast to how Amaterasu's symbol is on the sun. However, that godhood is an illusion; It's subtly hinted at by the fact that Ninetails' white fur is noticeably off-white, dirtier than Amaterasu's pure/snow white. It's like when a toy with white plastic starts to yellow. And sure enough, once you destroy 8 out of 9 of Ninetails' tails, they're finally revealed for what they are; an old, tired red/brown, one eyed fox demon that hungers for power. Obviously, this isn't one to one applicable to the Phantasms, but I do think the mocking of the Egyptian Gods could be possible.
I already had a feeling that the Sacred Beasts related to Hebrew mythology rather than Egyptian mythology. But, your theory and explanation was still really interesting and actually makes sense in the context of the GX series. I myself think they’re not as evil as the Wicked Gods, but still represent the Egyptian Gods’ less virtuous aspects.
Brilliant! Even if this is all speculation, every single detail fits so perfectly together that its own logic feels infallible. You've really created an amazing lore theory here.
Theres even more evidence when you realize there’s a field spell card dedicated for the sacred beasts called “fallen paradise” which has art depicting an ominous tree with a single fruit. It gives quite the “Garden of Eden” vibe to it which just further lines up with the Hebrew motif
The only snag I can think of in that theory is that Kaiba would be interested in creating new gods. In the first point, Kaiba was defeated despite having a god, and he strikes me as the type to say, "I'll stick with Blue-Eyes; if a God I command can be beaten, then I don't really need its power." The other point is that, English dub and filler arcs notwithstanding, I was pretty sure Kaiba intended to retire from Duel Monsters after Battle City, and focus on expanding Kaiba Land and games development. I see Kaiba leaving his mark by building Duel Academy, but I'd suspect that Kagemaru decided to take advantage of that; and then Kaiba just letting him get away with it, since he DID wager ownership Duel Academy on a single duel, and he was cocky enough to think any student from his school could defeat Kagemaru anyway.
That's possible. I like to believe it's just Kaiba fiddling with things he shouldn't fiddle around with and possibly spiting Pegasus' warning. He messes with a little bit of everything involving the future, but he could've dabbled in the past with the same goals in mind. After all, it's not like he didn't learn ANYTHING from his time with the Pharoah or ancient Egypt. It was worthy of an investment. Just like the Dueling monkey was worthy of an investment. I mean he already figured out how to make a Duel Spirit in his likeness. The Egyptian Gods are most definitely worth looking into and that field of research might've been what yielded the Kaibaman spirit result. I could see him either tinker with it, but not be nearly as invested as his co-founder was or just have a team of his tinker with it for him as he is busy laying the groundwork for the other sequels.
This video blew me away. I love the original Egyptian God cards. The lore behind them, the meaning behind their original names, and the story that revolves around them. The way Mr. Kazuki Takahashi seamlessly wove history, fantasy, horror, and gaming together to create the original Yugioh manga is why I firmly believe is why I keep returning to this series. I remember being frustrated when I was younger with GX because it lacked that. (I’ve been recommended the manga and plan to read it soon since apparently it’s closer to what I might be looking for). My biggest frustration was how the “Sacred Beasts” felt shallow. They felt like cheap clones to cash in on the original Egyptian god card’s popularity. That said I always wondered if they were meant to be Hebrew based of their names and symbols on the keys, however I never found any official evidence on it nor a satisfactory official backstory so I gave up on trying to figure them out. Recently I got back into Speed Duel and got the new GX box. I was surprised when I found Kagemaru’s speed duel deck had a field card that looks like a fallen version of Eden… and that reawakened my curiosity. I’m glad I bumped into this video. It’s a fascinating theory and the alchemy detail helps fit it in together. If I remember correctly Alchemy is a Medieval invention based of the Sefer Zohar. As I typed all this I realized maybe 4kids might have been on to something? I mean “Sacred” Beasts.
Hey, from one Yu-Gi-Oh theorist to another, I just love your content, this theory video is so interesting to think about, and I legit would like to see more from you. I wish I could meet you and talk about more Yu-Gi-Oh stuff
I didn't think we would end up getting another theory video from you. I absolutely love it. A Yu-Gi-Oh prequel in Ancient Egypt... Something like "Yu-Gi-Oh Shadow Game"
In the games Tag Force 5 and Tag Force 6, there's a little girl with red hair named Alice Uria who uses the Sacred Beasts (and favors Uria). even though TF5 and TF6 are 5ds games, Alice Uria is grouped with the GX characters in Tag Force Special. Furthermore, Alice Uria IS in Tag Force 4 (the first 5ds TF game) but looks completely different. She didn't even have red hair in TF4. There's a theory that Alice Uria is actually Uria itself in human form. The fact that Alice (and some other characters) got complete makeovers in TF5 compared to TF4 could mean that they were planned to have anime appearances in 5ds, which would mean the Sacred Beasts would've returned in 5ds as well. The Sacred Beasts disappear after Jaden duels Yubel in season 3 of GX, and we're not in Jaden's deck in season 4, so they were presumably left in the other dimension. Going by the "Alice is Uria" theory, the Sacred Beasts could've returned in 5ds by taking human form in order to return to our dimension.
Another idea, Kaiba was the only duelist to successfully use a God card without a millennium item! If he had developed them, it seems to me that he could use the cards without the school. Though the cards being hommunculi makes sense that they would require additional soul energy to be used
The implications of Egyptian God usage is more implied to be defined by one of 2 factors: -Being a Millennium Item Wielder. -Having ancient connections to the Pharaoh Lineage. Odeon and Mai muddle things a bit, but... To note first: Strings' history (at least in the Anime) is just as blank as he is. However, he suffered no ill effects of summoning Slifer The Sky Dragon. I wager that it's because he was being controlled by Marik. In a way, that duel as a whole was technically a duel between Marik and Yugi, with Strings being Marik's physical proxy and would be protected by the Millennium Rod's power, and subsequently count as the first factor. Odeon's condition was caused by not only filling neither of these requirements (Not being related to the Pharaoh's Lineage at all, and not have any real Millennium Items proper), but was also using a fake Winged Dragon of Ra copy (Considering the cards are sentient, Ra themselves aint happy about that as a whole and went ham on Odeon, with Joey being a bit of collateral damage.) It was stated that Marik had copies of Ra produced and tested, but those who tried to use the Ra copy didn't make it at all, so it's clear that there's more to the Egyptian Gods as a whole. Mai represents a unique twist. She managed to get her hands on The Winged Dragon of Ra from Yami Marik mid-duel, and managed to summon it. Yet she wasn't immediately zapped by Ra. The big implication was that it's a sort of "Failsafe" to ensure the Egyptian Gods weren't used against the above points, but I think it's a little more, too. Going back to the Cards being Sentient point, I wager it was a unique (if one-sided) test by Ra itself. Marik was technically foolish enough to have Ra pulled from him, giving a layer of incompetence ("If you can't keep tabs on me, why should I follow you?" in a way), and wanted to see if the new user was truly worthy of Ra's power, hence the Ancient Chant suddenly appearing. If Mai could speak the chant, then she could prove she was worthy of Ra's full might. It would also explain why Marik, Bakura, and Yugi don't have to recite the chant every time Ra's played: Since they fit at least one of those criteria, Ra skips the Chant requirement and just pops out when called. Kaiba fits both the bills. His ancestor, Seto, was seen having wielded the Millennium Rod and was appointed Pharaoh by Atem himself via being given the Millennium Puzzle. So in a way, Kaiba could make use of the Rod and Puzzle, and if I recall, was Atem's cousin, so he was personally connected to that Lineage by birthright still. From the start of the Battle City arc, it was clear that Kaiba had connections to the ancient past due to appearing on the Pharaoh's Tablet, but the full extent wasn't really apparent. But through subtle interactions, alongside story revelations, it's made apparent that Kaiba's usage of the Egyptian Gods is due to having that proper, personal link to them despite Kaiba's "I'm just that good!" attitude to brush it off.
He could use them because he was the reincarnation of Priest Seto, giving him a connection to the Millennium Rod and giving him the protection he needed.
That's a a lot of research and such an interesting theory my dude. Also, I think the God cards have some relation to other monsters like Obelisk to The Creator, Ra to Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys and Slifer to Horus The Black Flame Dragon Lvl8. They share are a lot similarities, power and design wise.
Yeah, but if i remember right the wicked gods are entirely artificial, meaning there is no trace of them in the yugioh world outside of the card game. There is no point in mentioning them as they were creating by man to defeat the god cards specifically
I always assumed the Sacred Beasts were the gods of the Duel Spirit realm. Only reason aside from their appearance was how they immediately began siphoning off the energy from every card in their area, much like how human related gods often require them as sacrifices
Another clue that Kaiba had a hand in the creation of the Sacred Beasts is that Raviel, the counterpart to Obelisk, seems to be the main monster, the head of the Sacred Beast. And who did Obelisk belong to? Kaiba. He made the counterpart to his God Card the head of the new man made "god trio".
I find it difficult to believe that Kaiba would willingly let the cards be left alone like that unless they were made in secret. But other than that this was amazing and I can't wait to see more!
Marik coming back as an adult and getting repossessed by his evil side, would have been perfect in GX to claim the sacred beasts cards (after Jaden beat water capsule boy) , so he, evil marik, can finally conquer the world. He was afterall after the Egyptian god cards to complete this task, and this would have been the perfect substitute for his vengeance almost 10 years later. Which in the show could have reignited a feud between him and Kaiba, as Kaiba created all this GX stuff to begin with to have the sacred beasts for himself, is threatened with Marik having them... where the show after explaining everything you said in this video.. gives us the ultimate duel between kaiba and marik we always wanted since battle city. Edit: Also, considering Hebrews weren't actually the slaves in Egypt like they claim they were (only place in history that mentions that is torah and bible which both were written by them so it isnt very credible) actual scholars and documents show they were actually the Hyksos people who took over Egypt after 1700BC and ruled it as their puppet state for 300 or so years and the last hyksos Pharoah even tried to banish all Egyptian gods to instate monotheism in real Egyptian history until they were finally driven out by a native Egyptian Pharoah in 1200bc or so where the Hyksos later wrote the stories we all know of how they were enslaved etc in their fairytale moses story to seem like the victims & good guys... means the Yu-Gi-oh idea that the sacred beasts were carbon copies of the Egyptian gods by Hebrew (hyksos) alchemists to use them as their Trump card and take over Egypt for themselves is a BRILLIANT theory !!!
I only just learned about Beyblade Moses, but I'm gonna say that Yu-Gi-Oh! Moses happened in the Anime timeline and Beyblade Moses happened in the manga timeline 🤷
There's an interesting detail that I feel adds further credence to this theory. Even though they are gods, Ra, Obelisk and Slifer/Osiris, like many gods from classic mythology, are not inherently good beings. In fact, in the original manga, Ishizu specifically states that each of the three god monsters are embodiments of the dualities of the universe; Obelisk represents good and evil, Slifer/Osiris represents light and darkness, and Ra represents heaven and earth. And she warns Kaiba that the reason the god cards are so dangerous is because the incredible power contained within them can be used for good or for evil, even being able to take the opponent's life when used by an evil heart. So while Pharaoh Atem used the god monsters to save the world from Zorc, it's entirely plausible that in the past, a less pure-hearted Pharaoh, such as the biblical version of Ramses, could have instead used the power of the gods for evil purposes such as enslaving the Hebrews, requiring the creation of the sacred beasts to stand up to them.
Fun fact: Hamon also means “The ripple” in Japanese, the name of the first power system in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, a series that Takahashi was a fan of [puts on tinfoil hat]
Could line up with that movie, Dark Side of Dimensions. Kaiba was super obsessed with facing Yugi again, and I could see Kaiba making fake god cards so that he could travel back in time and face the pharaoh with his own set of god cards.
What a thorough research! Loved every minute of it! The Phantasmal Beasts being a humunculus version of the Egyptian Gods through alchemy was my favourite part and it makes so much sense!
When you were talking about who made the cards in the anime and you brought up Industrial Illusions, I’m surprised you didn’t bring up Pegasus designing the Rainbow Dragon card that was on a tablet while Duel Academy was stuck in a different dimension. Obviously Pegasus wasn’t in the different dimension, but the Rainbow Dragon card was powerful enough to get Duel Academy back. That and Pegasus certainly has style when designing cards himself.
I do love this theory, and it makes a lot of sense from a lore perspective. As a Jewish man myself, I appreciate the idea behind the plot... even if the very Hebrew Alchemy Homunculi were used as tools by the villains of the arc, but that's kind of been our plight throughout history anyway, so it checks out >_> Yet another reason this theory makes a lot of sense. But in general, I just really like that the Sacred Beasts are effectively Golems for the protection of the hebrew people. And their power even directly ties into the events from the book. Uriel of Searing Flames would've been responsible for the tornado of fire that kept the armies of the Pharaoh at bay. A forefather of Atem and his father Akenaten. But as far as I'm aware? Akenaten was the one that performed the milennium ritual that constructed the 7 Milennium Items, and they used it to beat back a Kushian invasion. Then the items passed down to the court of his son when his reign began. And Atem, at the end of his reign, locked the shadow magic away, so that means that there was a very limited window for the jewish population to have copied them and left, but we know that that happened after the events of Atem's rule anyway. The only way they could predate it is if the Milennium Book that contained the information on how to make the items was constructed/written within that 300 years that SpellCommander mentions.
Small correction. Akenaten (spelled Akhenaden or Aknadin using the dub) was Atem's uncle. So it wasn't passed down to his son Seto until after Atem died and the items were sealed. To add to this, the gods were nameless until Atem summoned him, meaning he was the only Pharaoh to use the gods and they were sealed by the grave keepers that were created by Seto. They were so well hidden by the grave keeper's magic that Pegasus couldn't find them until Shadi showed him using his Millennium Key. The Millennium Book is indeed old (we don't know how old), but it's stated in both the manga and anime that no one could read it until Aknadin and he only could read one spell. And the manga explains this as Zorc manipulating Aknadin to created the items so he could enter the world.
Bro u shud be invited by the story writers. This lore is getting crazy epic and with enough credibility given by the original fanchise, u gonna be like marvel jesus in Yu Gi Oh story
11:40 This is only the case if you take the ~3000 years ago figure to be true, then yes Exodus occurred about 300 years beforehand. However, the manga explicitly calls out Atem as being born in the Eighteenth Dynasty, which is between the mid 1500s BC to the early 1200s BC (early in this case being 1292 at latest). So it's likely that either Atem either predates the events posed in Exodus, they happened during his lifetime, or Exodus almost immediately followed Atem's life (a popular theory is that Atem's death is the end of the 18th Dynasty in that universe, as the irl Pharaoh Horemheb had no sons and appointed a vizier as his successor, who later assumed the throne under the name Ramesses I) Otherwise superb video, love the work put in on this. I can't believe Seto really demanded all those babies be killed.
Also I think some of this theory kinda contradicts the predicated closure that Seto has in DSOD as it pertains to the god cards, and his clear and evident withdrawal from Duel Monsters as a game in both GX and DSOD. but iirc you don't really subscribe to the notion that DSOD and GX are in the same timeline so moot, but worth commenting on.
@@208getalife it's not that he doesn't subscribe to it it's just that dsod is only canon to the original manga not the anime that gx is a canonical continuation of.
@@nightmarearcade2663 Either way, it's an afterthought, still seems not in-character to me that Kaiba would go out of his way to become "the greatest duelist" when Atem is gone, since his journey wasn't about becoming powerful for the sake of being the best, it was about defeating Atem and proving himself superior to Atem.
@@208getalife That is true however and I'm going off of memory so please correct me if I'm wrong. But at the end of the anime Kaiba accepts Yugi as the real king of games shifting his rivalry towards him so you could say he'd want the sacred beasts made so he has a better chance at defeating Yugi.
@@nightmarearcade2663 He kinda doesn't really express much interest in Yugi as a rival, it really do be about Atem, that's why the premise presented in DSOD was believable to begin with, in either canon. In the anime HE wanted to be the one to beat Atem, not Yugi, and Seto is smart enough to know that the transitive property need not necessarily apply between the three of them, as it doesn't between himself, Joey, and Atem.
So there's one interesting wrinkle I find with this theory: The fact that the Phantasmal Beasts needed to be 'powered up' even when they were first discovered, which seems to MASSIVELY contrast what we see with the Egyptian Gods who were clearly ALREADY massively powerful when Pegasus started creating their cards. Here's my thought on this: The Phantasmal Beasts were created by Hebrew alchemists in an attempt to take the power of the Shadow Games and turn them against their Egyptian masters, with the primary purpose of these homunculi to absorb the many monster spirits and in particular, the Gods that meant so much to the Egyptians. However, this attempt FAILED because by this point, those monster spirits, the egyptian gods, and the shadow games themselves had been sealed away by Atem, meaning that the Phantasmal Beasts had nothing to absorb. Making them nothing more than empty, powerless vessels, which were then sealed away. And they would remain this way even when discovered by Banner all those millennia later, explaining why Kagemaru had to put so much work into powering them up. Basically, the ending of GX Season 1 was the FIRST TIME the Phantasmal Beasts were EVER fully powered and able to properly awaken. It also explains why they immediately started absorbing monster spirits. And more than that, neatly explains WHY these monsters have seemingly little to no impact or presence or anyone hearing about them. Because they basically didn't fully EXIST until the time of the show.
Something else to note about the Gabriel/Hamon connection: Hamon (the card) has the Thunder type and is even referred to as the Lord of Striking Thunder. A fitting association for the metaphorical voice of God.
Story checks out, and probably was more thought than Konami who probably just thought "hey what if we made them look like the Egyptian Gods that would be neat" Slight misconception about the story of Moses is that the pharaoh wasn't Ramesses at the time and was never named in the scripture. Based on the dates as explained (the Bible mentions events with an exact year after the Exodus in relation to Solomon which places the events of the Exodus some time around 1500 BC) and given the complications around his death and succession, the most likely pharaoh would have been Thutmose II. The only reason why people would tend to assume that the pharaoh was Ramesses, outside of movies just using the name of a famous pharaoh because they needed a name, was because one instance of a location referred to by the name of Ramesses in the Exodus. Which in my opinion may have simply been a result of records using more contemporary names for locations rather than the one that they may have held at the time period it's set. For instance when we speak about a historical figure like Augustus, we call him Octavian or Augustus even though all his contemporaries would have called him Gaius Julius Caesar.
I know this video is only taking the anime events into consideration, but how would the Wicked Gods from the Yu-Gi-Oh R manga tie in? It may be a spin-off manga, but according to its lore the three Wicked Gods (Eraser, Dreadroot, and Avatar) were created to be direct counters to the Egyptian Gods (and even resemble their respective Egyptian God counterparts, though Avatar's natural state resembles Ra's Sphere Mode and its effect as shown in the manga has it shapeshift into a shadowy replica of the strongest monster on field).
If Sacred Beasts had summoning chants: "I call upon the devils brother To let loose darkness like no other Giant figure and glare of malice, Banish those who fight for justice Doom calls the one who made an error, Unleash upon them your full might and terror Come forth! RAVIEL, LORD OF PHANTASMS!" "The storm is shining, the clouds collide, Let the lightning strike and disaster divide Appear and give your enemy the honor, Let them experience true anguish and horror The heart of darkness, the stare of disdain, Chaos calls upon you as your domain Come forth! HAMON, LORD OF STRIKING THUNDER!" "The earth splits open, the path is clear, All hope is lost, the end is near The scared one stares at the underworld gate, Red shadow approaches to seal their fate Fear is now why your enemy trembles, Death is what your presence resembles A reminder to those who meet your gaze, Summon the flames and set them ablaze Come forth! URIA, LORD OF SEARING FLAMES!"
That's probably the best explanation for the sacred beasts I've ever seen, it always frustrated me that they are so obviously related to the egyprian gods in some form, but it is never acknoledged by the anime. I don't know if you plan to continue making yugioh lore videos, but if you do, I recommend the yugioh deities and their relations t each other. How do Horakthy, the Numeron Dragon, Zorc, the Light of Destruction, Zorc, the Leviathan etc, fit together in the yugioh cosmology. Some of them are obvioulsy related, like how Horakthy and Zorc are probably enemies, and Darkness (or Nightshroud) seems like the opposite of the Light of Destruction (like an extreme version of the Gentle Darkness), but like with the sacred beats, it's never brought up or properly explained
The theory is great just add Jaden being a reincarnation of a Solomon type figure a person who’s spirit is strong enough to see communicate and control spirits that came from the very same dimension that many spirits come from as we saw in Yubels flashback and its as perfect as Yugioh logic lets it be. Jaden being a parallel to Solomon a god favored king with blessing of power to control demons and spirit but who could still fell pray to the sin works. Jaden can parallel this being a skilled duelist with a great connection and power due too being a spirits through the gentle darkness due too being the reincarnation of a king with the power over darkness but can still fall to it if he can’t keep it in check as we saw while he took over dark world commanding fiends.
I loved this video, I have A few questions: 1- So the Gods were made first (before the phantasms)? 2- Was this BEFORE Atem was alive? I was under the assumption ONLY Atem was able to use the Egyptian Gods? 3- Weren’t the Gods sealed away with Atem? How would a battle commence between the Gods & Phantasms after Atems death? Thanks for any info. I’m genuinely curious
@@JakeSmith-mq5dc So was anyone able to use the Gods after Atem? I was under the impression he was the only one able to use them being he sealed the magic away?
Atem was the last rightful user of the gods power and so no one would be allowed to use more then 1 of their number with their permission Atem sealed most of the power away but scraps of the magic are still useable by those who learn it and make what amounts to a battery of a charm and a regulator they are attached to (the shadow charms are arts and crafts items made to access the shadow magic but are bronze decade to golden millennium items in terms of effect power and staying power). During the battle against zork the magic was drained for awhile until the recovery they could not use the magic as vividly as before as the barrier between the physical and spiritual worlds were made stronger for a long time
@@Yugigreg Atem was the first and only Pharaoh to control the gods because he was the 'Chosen Pharaoh'. The gods were sealed by the grave keepers after Atem's death, which is why Pegasus couldn't find the god tablets until Shadi showed him.
I absolutely love this masterpiece of a video! As someone who loves the Duel Monsters and GX arcs, it's great to finally have a lore connection between the Egyptian Gods and the Sacred Beasts. Even if it's not official canon, I will wholeheartedly adopt this headcanon as though it is official canon. In fact I feel as though other Yu-Gi-Oh fans may as well do the same because this theory is too good not to be adopted as such.
This theory honestly falls apart when we know that the Shadow Games are not 300 years old since they didn't exist until Aknadin created the Millennium Items and the Shadow Games were sealed when Atem died, meaning they only existed for about two decades at most. That and Atem is the only Pharaoh who ever summoned the gods since he was the 'Chosen Pharaoh'. Until Atem summoned them, people didn't even know the gods' names. And when Atem died, they were also sealed away by the grave keepers created by Seto and were so well hidden that Pegasus couldn't find them until Shadi showed him.
Maybe a shadow charm was also involved in the process of making the cards. And the phantasms still needed duel energy to awaken fully; either since they did not kill the people working on the cards (since they would operate on duel monster spirits and not off of humans) and/or the shadow charm is not as strong as the millennium item.
I just realized, YGO is now, by this theory actually the second Japanese franchise (to my knowledge) that explained the story of Moses with "He had the power of a children's game and God on his side". (The first one being Bayblade, btw) P.s "If I had a nickel for every time that a Japanese children's show explained that Moses was playing a children's game in order to save the Jews, I'd have two nickels, which isn't much, but it's weird that it happened twice."

We saw in Darkside of Dimensions that as Kaiba was able to summon Obelisk in his duel with Aigami, the Egyptian God Cards may not be disconnected from this world entirely. This theory is further supported by the counterfeit copy of Ra Franz used. Perhaps Pegasus heard the tale of the three Sacred Beasts who rivaled the Egyptian Gods and decided to create them as cards to contain the gods in case they returned and fell into the wrong hands.
Honestly I think it’s a missed opportunity to not have the sacred beasts be directly related to Zork and the Millennium Spell Book. Would have been cool to this is where the book ended up and someone else managed to translate a different part of the book. A page or two depicting the sacred beasts.
This is honestly a super cool idea for YGO's expanded lore. I really enjoyed listening to this. I would love to see a rewrite of the original YGO focusing more on the lore of where things come from and why the world works the way it does.
As a kid, I only watched a handful of disconnected Yu-Gi-Oh! episodes before moving on to GX, and I genuinely thought they were the god cards who changed their appearances due to being sealed for a long time
I really like this theory. I just wonder how Exodia fits in? Because their is much that sugests that exodia is a reference to exodus too. Is he involved in this?
He is a piece of god split into five pieces so they could use it to protect their lands as a apology for the death toll and famine a backhanded gift they would need many people to release to begin with but was basically a invincible hero to defend the people
I always felt the Sacred Beasts got a bum deal. Kagemaru wanted eternal life, and Yubel used them for revenge. Isn't there anyone who wants the Sacred Beasts because they're awesome cards?
Judging purely by the designs, I think this is the exception of the knock off divinity. I feel like the Phantasm trio went fully down the alchemist route because we see aspects of each of the monsters mashed within Armitle, meanwhile Horakhty is THE creator of light itself. It transcends the Egyptian God trio and all their glorious attributes in every way.
@@JakeSmith-mq5dc Adding to what you said, Armityle resembles the description of a chimera whereas Horakhty resembles a unique being that isn't the sum of it parts, which feeds into the whole "alchemist route."
@@samuelwilliams663 Chimera. That is the word i was looking for. As for the Egyptian God being greater than the sum of it's parts. I think that since it shines brighter than Ra, has magnificent wings like Slipher and stands with a strong figure like Obelisk. It represents all 3 in a more symbolic manner, without losing it's uniqueness.
@@JakeSmith-mq5dc do you remember in the movie "the pyramid of light" when the gods combined by superposing on each other. armytile is more a counterpart of this combination

I now officially love the sacred beasts. I couldn't get into them as a kid thinking they were just clones but now that I know they are homunculus angle clones to fight the god cards and not just clones I'm way more into it.
One thing I wonder though is why Raviel is the strongest Sacred Beast and nor Hamon as they are supposed to be counterparts for the Egyptian Gods. This would make sense if Kiba created them, but not so much for the ancient hebrew theory. Unlesss they have a reason for favoring Obelisk over Ra that I'm missing.
seto comes from Seth, which matches in the same time with "the god of chaos in egyptian mythology" and "a character of Bible who is also an ascendant of Noa"
I have no idea if this is on the mark for lore accuracy or writers intent but either way that was a fantastic theory and great fun to watch. I loved it
First things first, an excellent job doing the research for the lore on these cards. I envy the people who work at Konami who do the original research on these topics, the people who create the cards and effects to resemble the lore and the ability to inspire us to investigate the lore and history of our favorite cards. Your analysis has inspired my thoughts and I want to share my lore about these cards with you. We know that in ancient Egypt stone tablets were created and contain monsters. Some are doorways to the "Monster World." Others were created by people merging their spirits and Ka together. For example, Mana becomes the Dark Magician Girl, Mahad becomes the Dark Magician and Kisara becomes The Maiden with Eyes of Blue. We know that the gods and goddesses of the ancient world were jealous and vain, so it would be proper for them to create tablets of their own likeness and power. Some of these tablets were created for protection and others were created to show dominance. Ra probably created the Egyptian God tablets to symbolize different pieces of himself. Birth, life and death. Using the Egyptian Gods, the Egyptians expanded their influence, culture and dominance across the land. Seeing his children oppressed and put into slavery, Almighty God sent three of his archangels to talk to Moses and to help his children gain their freedom. Knowing of the Egyptian God tablets, God created three tablets of his own. The Sacred Beast tablets. He created one tablet for each archangel and created a tether joining them to one of the Egyptian God tablets. Knowing that his archangels were much stronger, the tether was created for protection only. The Sacred Beasts would inherit the looks, traits and abilities of the Egyptian Gods they were attached to. Defense, not offense. The best defense is a mirror copy of the original. Ra was jealous and angered by the creation of these Beasts. The spirit and beauty of the archangels shown through them and made his own creations look inferior. Ra ordered his servants to find and destroy the Sacred Beast tablets. Soldiers ransacked the slave communities until they found the tablets. They started to destroy the tablets, but stopped and were scared with the arrival of the first plague. The Jewish people were able to rescue the tablets and carry them away as they fled from Egypt. The damage from the soldiers caused the Sacred Beasts to have their current appearance. Not completely happy, Ra found enjoyment from their new grotesque features. That is how they were created, how were they made into cards? Pegasus brought the Egyptian Gods to life under the protection of his Millennium Eye. He had no way of knowing about the tether between the Egyptian Gods and the Sacred Beasts. The magic flowed through this connection and resurrected the Sacred Beasts at the same time. No amount of magic could repair the damage to them. Pegasus didn't even know that they even existed. Why did these cards need to be charged with duel energy to wake up and gain strength? I think that this was a misconception. If my lore is true, then these cards gain their power because they were designed to protect. The more people feel overwhelmed, oppressed, inferior or suffering, like kids at school, caused the Sacred Beasts to awaken. Unfortunately, the wrong person acquired them for different reasons. He was able to rejuvenate his body from the spirits of the archangels, perhaps mostly from Raphael, which means God heals. Raphael is also the lover of Amitiel. Is there a connection? Anyways, the creation of the fusion monster for the Egyptian Gods and the fusion monster for the Sacred Beasts is the real mystery. Where did they come from? I believe that they are only able to appear when they are needed. As Goku taught Gohan, becoming a Super Saiyan is a need, not a desire.
"We know that in ancient Egypt stone tablets were created and contain monsters. Some are doorways to the "Monster World"." The anime used the manga explanation that was introduced in Millennium World. Namely, the monsters on the tablets from Egypt are human Ka taking from evil people. Not doorways to the monster world. "Others were created by people merging their spirits and Ka together. For example, Mana becomes the Dark Magician Girl" Mana didn't merged her Ka with her Ba to make Dark Magician Girl. That is just her natural Ka. Unlike Mahad who Ka was the Magus of Illusions. "Kisara becomes The Maiden with Eyes of Blue." The Maiden with Eyes of Blue has no anime counterpart, so it's questionable if it even existed in the Yugioh World. "Using the Egyptian Gods, the Egyptians expanded their influence, culture and dominance across the land." We know this wasn't the case because Atem was the only Pharaoh to control the gods. The Egyptians didn't even know the gods' names before Atem summoned them and they were sealed after Atem died. And Atem was born hundreds of years before any form of Moses.
My friends and I always called the sacred beasts the "evolved" forms of the Egyptian god cards but that was more how they have better effects and just overall look like improved versions
Doesn't Thief King Barbara fit the description of Moses. Both wear Red robes and their people were slaughtered on the orders of the Pharoah. Bakura even fights the Pharoah in his courtroom. Diabound has snake like features too.
Maybe more than one character/ event could be inspired by Moses? Or maybe Bakura is inspired in-universe by the Phantasms that stood up against the Egyptian Gods themselves and managed to free the Hebrew people.
Oh my Neteru this is the xest comment in existence. If Bakura is Moses, that really flips some dynamics on their head as to what the message of the series has been in the eyes of the mass consumer.
it's because the inspiration behind it is true. not the part abt angels but the part abt sons of Ya39oob 3alayhi ssalaam learning magic from the egyptians whike they were their slaves instead of trusting God's power and Musa (moses) 3alayhi ssalaam whom He had sent for them.
By the way during the duel between Jaden and Kagemaru (who is the first to summon the Sacred beasts) Jaden defeats Kagemaru by using “sabatiel - the PHILOSOPHER STONE” which is the main focus and goal for Alchemists all over the world, because it allows to both change metals into Gold and liquids into the immortal juice (funny how the same instruments that allowed to create the Sacred Beasts also allowed their distruction)
Also Fallen Paradise is basicaly Eden but only after Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, the name probably referes to how John Milton in his PARADISE LOST referes to Genesis and the fall of Satan, an event that was re-used in Yu-Gi-Oh to rebrand the Darklords
It's amazing how much of this I just low key understood despite not researching. I think you are definitely right and also thought Kaibas influence on gx was no coincidence and he was the most likely culprit behind creating the sacred beasts especially since he lost obelisk from yugi in battle city. Also the shadow riders having new millennium artifacts I think adds to this theory greatly. Well done as always. I've always wanted to see a spin off series with Jaden again when he is older and more in tune with the Supreme king angle with yubel and seeing a lot more fusion support in the past few years some part of me hopes to see that develop someday but with Takahashi gone who knows.
yugioh moses is actually not completely out of question. if you guys remember the capsule monsters series we saw yugi fight alexander the great in his pyramid. If they were willing to use historical figures like Alex I’m sure a Moses existing is more than plausible and would actually help fill in some plot holes
This is extremely well researched for the most part and an awesome theory but there are some mistakes & ideas I wanna point out: 1. Pegasus was in fact not interested in creating cards as powerful as the Egyptian Gods again, but that only applies for dueling purposes, he was interested in creating replicas of them in order to be able to research, which might not fully leave him out of the debate in being somewhat involved in the creation of these cards, but under the idea that Pegasus knew of the existence of these cards I strongly believe he'd be against creating them for dueling purposes, "With excessive power comes excessive tragedy", as he said in GX. 2. We actually see a live procedure of the creation of a card in Season 3 when Pegasus creates Rainbow Dragon in order to help the people trapped in the other dimension 3. As others have pointed out, the specific summoning requirements of the Sacred Beasts are very fitting for alchemy thematics 4. I don't believe Kaiba would actually do anything like that despite his pursuit of power and his wish to battle Atem again, as others have semi pointed out I believe it is much more likely that he was shown the cards, ordered Kagemaru to seal them and then Kagemaru faked the sealing and created the school alongside Seto, who was not aware of its double purpose as a battle & feeding ground for the Sacred Beasts, which I think is more solidified when you consider the Manjome brothers conflict from Season 1 again. If the Island truly held such insane importance to Kaiba, he would've never even gambled with it by leaving its hands into Chazz's hands, he extremely confidently and proudly believes that the duelists of the next generation and of his Academy will be able to protect it from the Manjome brothers, which I believe is way more in line with his way of thinking, because while Kaiba wants to be the best, he also loves the thrill & excitement of dueling, so genuinely training stronger duelists I think is much more in line with his desires than creating more powerful cards 5. Kaiba is already representative of an Egyptian god, Seth, and while Yugioh takes A LOT of mythology and implements it into the series, I doubt a dual representation of both the Ancient Egyptians and a partial creator of the Sacred Beasts for the Hebrew people was intended for Kaiba
So all along. Commander was the guy Golden nova was refering to during his Secred Beast video. With the reference. Hamon really is the hardest egg to crash bewteen the 3 Beasts. Lucky its was finally cleared up.
First Mosses beat his brother in a duel, then he parted the sea using a Beyblade.
You forgot Moses and the Egyptian Pharaoh had a Yami no duel to determine the slaves fate
Exodus 69:69 "And Moses proclaimed "Beyblade, let it rip" and so the Sea parted"
His staff turned into his launcher. He didn't Slam his staff down to part the sea, he let it rip
jesús came down and dueled Satan
LOL
This is a hilariously well-written theory, and is my new headcanon. Although I don't think that Kaiba would willingly create the Sacred Beasts if they could be used against him - I think it's a little more likely that Kagemaru used Kaiba's technology in secret, as we know that Kaibacorp has a long history of poor security when it comes to people infiltrating and using their company's tech.
I think that makes more sense, even if kagemaru brought the idea to kaiba and he likes it, I doubt he'd actually tell kagemaru that and just develop it in secret. It's more likely kagemaru just used his tech in secret like you said
You’d think kaiba would up his security considering how many times things have been hacked, stolen, or turned against him
@@kanekikingstorm2113 True, but also, given that Kagemaru co-founded Duel Academy with Kaiba, I'm sure he already had all of the security clearance he needed.
@@whambamduel true that’s a good point.
@@agm5424 calling the sacred beasts the "man made god cards" make it looks so cool
Actually the anime summoning conditions are different! Just requiring spells, traps, and monsters. There are no specific requirements besides that 😢
Equivalent exchange is an invention of FMA, irl alchemy was founded on the very opposite idea, that you could create something greater than the sum of its parts.
@@tinfoilslacks3750 Still, the ingredients are very specific so it fits.

Something I was hoping you'd mention that strengthens this idea that tiny bit more: The sudden foray into Judaism doesn't seem so out-of-left-field when you remember that the main character is straight-up named Judai.

Along those lines, Raviel is probably named after Raphael rather than Raziel, meaning the 4 cards all together are named after the 4 most well known Archangels (Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel)
Based on that, the lore implication seems to be that the Three Phantasms are twisted apparitions of Gabriel, Raphael and Uriel, and Sabatiel is a card forged by the power of Michael to stop them from destroying the world on Yahweh's behalf, hence why Sabatiel disintegrated after the Three Phantasms were defeated.
So the Phantasm cards are clearly very deeply connected to Hebrew mythology.
nice explanation buddy ty.
Man, this really does run deep

Though the cards being hommunculi makes sense that they would require additional soul energy to be used
The implications of Egyptian God usage is more implied to be defined by one of 2 factors:
-Being a Millennium Item Wielder.
He was connected to the rod
He could use them because he was the reincarnation of Priest Seto, giving him a connection to the Millennium Rod and giving him the protection he needed.
Then along came Jaden using Ra with no cards or anything to control Ra.
Can't believe that you're tackling this subject without mentioning the wicked gods, Eraser, Dreadroot, and Avatar!
Yeah, but if i remember right the wicked gods are entirely artificial, meaning there is no trace of them in the yugioh world outside of the card game. There is no point in mentioning them as they were creating by man to defeat the god cards specifically
As a bilingual person, [English and Spanish] it was always funny to me that a "Sacred Beast" was named Ham
As a kid I thought the sacred beast were the children of the Egyptian gods

Does this take place before or after Moses split the Red Sea with a beyblade?
(Look it up, in the Beyblade canon this happened)
Before
I only just learned about Beyblade Moses, but I'm gonna say that Yu-Gi-Oh! Moses happened in the Anime timeline and Beyblade Moses happened in the manga timeline 🤷
Also Irl canon
So while Pharaoh Atem used the god monsters to save the world from Zorc, it's entirely plausible that in the past, a less pure-hearted Pharaoh, such as the biblical version of Ramses, could have instead used the power of the gods for evil purposes such as enslaving the Hebrews, requiring the creation of the sacred beasts to stand up to them.
follow up theory: Did Crowler ever get around to paying Titan for his services?
No
Fun fact: Hamon also means “The ripple” in Japanese, the name of the first power system in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, a series that Takahashi was a fan of
[puts on tinfoil hat]
So Akarai had a hand in this!! Holy shit
Jojo references are everywhere.
@Dragon66898 yeah
"... and if the angels in Exodus actually are duel monster spirits..."
This is huge
This video was REALLY well done. Alchemy also plays a role in the Albaz lore too!
Damn. I never really thought about that, and I really like what you did with it! Nice job! Love your YGO Content!
So it's likely that either Atem either predates the events posed in Exodus, they happened during his lifetime, or Exodus almost immediately followed Atem's life (a popular theory is that Atem's death is the end of the 18th Dynasty in that universe, as the irl Pharaoh Horemheb had no sons and appointed a vizier as his successor, who later assumed the throne under the name Ramesses I)
Otherwise superb video, love the work put in on this.
Story checks out, and probably was more thought than Konami who probably just thought "hey what if we made them look like the Egyptian Gods that would be neat"
Slight misconception about the story of Moses is that the pharaoh wasn't Ramesses at the time and was never named in the scripture.
If Sacred Beasts had summoning chants:
"I call upon the devils brother
To let loose darkness like no other
Giant figure and glare of malice,
Banish those who fight for justice
Doom calls the one who made an error,
Unleash upon them your full might and terror
Come forth!
RAVIEL, LORD OF PHANTASMS!"
"The storm is shining, the clouds collide,
Let the lightning strike and disaster divide
Appear and give your enemy the honor,
Let them experience true anguish and horror
The heart of darkness, the stare of disdain,
Chaos calls upon you as your domain
Come forth!
HAMON, LORD OF STRIKING THUNDER!"
"The earth splits open, the path is clear,
All hope is lost, the end is near
The scared one stares at the underworld gate,
Red shadow approaches to seal their fate
Fear is now why your enemy trembles,
Death is what your presence resembles
A reminder to those who meet your gaze,
Summon the flames and set them ablaze
Come forth!
URIA, LORD OF SEARING FLAMES!"

This channel is INCREDIBLY UNDERRATED.
Another well-crafted theory!
Also, when's the next part of the GX Rewrite?
Wow this is actually really well thought out and extremely well researched! I love it. This is now cannon in my mind!
I loved this video, I have A few questions:
1- So the Gods were made first (before the phantasms)?
2- Was this BEFORE Atem was alive? I was under the assumption ONLY Atem was able to use the Egyptian Gods?
3- Weren’t the Gods sealed away with Atem? How would a battle commence between the Gods & Phantasms after Atems death?
Thanks for any info. I’m genuinely curious
The Phantasms predate Atem by 300 years, but the Egyptain Gods were created over a thousand years before Atem's war with Zork.
@@JakeSmith-mq5dc So was anyone able to use the Gods after Atem? I was under the impression he was the only one able to use them being he sealed the magic away?
@@Yugigreg That I don't know.
Atem was the last rightful user of the gods power and so no one would be allowed to use more then 1 of their number with their permission
Atem sealed most of the power away but scraps of the magic are still useable by those who learn it and make what amounts to a battery of a charm and a regulator they are attached to (the shadow charms are arts and crafts items made to access the shadow magic but are bronze decade to golden millennium items in terms of effect power and staying power).
@@Ramona122003 yeah it's falls appart on top of that atem also probably reference for God of Creation in egypt Atum/Atem
Maybe a shadow charm was also involved in the process of making the cards. And the phantasms still needed duel energy to awaken fully; either since they did not kill the people working on the cards (since they would operate on duel monster spirits and not off of humans) and/or the shadow charm is not as strong as the millennium item.

What deck would moses run
This is honestly a super cool idea for YGO's expanded lore. I really enjoyed listening to this. I would love to see a rewrite of the original YGO focusing more on the lore of where things come from and why the world works the way it does.
I mean, if Moses used a Beyblade to part the Red Sea, I don’t see why he couldn’t have also fought the Pharaoh with the Sacred Beasts.
Soooo.... What about when Yubel wielded the cards? And what about Armityle? How does it hold up as a Horakthy counterpart?
Judging purely by the designs, I think this is the exception of the knock off divinity. I feel like the Phantasm trio went fully down the alchemist route because we see aspects of each of the monsters mashed within Armitle, meanwhile Horakhty is THE creator of light itself. It transcends the Egyptian God trio and all their glorious attributes in every way.

seto comes from Seth, which matches in the same time with "the god of chaos in egyptian mythology" and "a character of Bible who is also an ascendant of Noa"
The Creator God of Light, Horakhty; Horus of the two horizons. Armityle the Chaos Phantasm; Amitiel Archangel of Truth and Peace
nah
"We know that in ancient Egypt stone tablets were created and contain monsters. Some are doorways to the "Monster World"."
The anime used the manga explanation that was introduced in Millennium World. Namely, the monsters on the tablets from Egypt are human Ka taking from evil people. Not doorways to the monster world.
"Others were created by people merging their spirits and Ka together. For example, Mana becomes the Dark Magician Girl"
Mana didn't merged her Ka with her Ba to make Dark Magician Girl. That is just her natural Ka. Unlike Mahad who Ka was the Magus of Illusions.
"Kisara becomes The Maiden with Eyes of Blue."
The Maiden with Eyes of Blue has no anime counterpart, so it's questionable if it even existed in the Yugioh World.
"Using the Egyptian Gods, the Egyptians expanded their influence, culture and dominance across the land."
We know this wasn't the case because Atem was the only Pharaoh to control the gods. The Egyptians didn't even know the gods' names before Atem summoned them and they were sealed after Atem died. And Atem was born hundreds of years before any form of Moses.
Meh theory
Theory full of Christian mental gymnastics:
My friends and I always called the sacred beasts the "evolved" forms of the Egyptian god cards but that was more how they have better effects and just overall look like improved versions
And Moses said to Ramses thou must get thy game on
So Awsome Dude ! Great Searching + Fantastic Storyteling + Fascinating Editing
Doesn't Thief King Barbara fit the description of Moses. Both wear Red robes and their people were slaughtered on the orders of the Pharoah. Bakura even fights the Pharoah in his courtroom. Diabound has snake like features too.
Oh man, he totally does, doesn't he?
Maybe more than one character/ event could be inspired by Moses?
Or maybe Bakura is inspired in-universe by the Phantasms that stood up against the Egyptian Gods themselves and managed to free the Hebrew people.
@@JakeSmith-mq5dc Not a bad theory.
Oh my Neteru this is the xest comment in existence.
If Bakura is Moses, that really flips some dynamics on their head as to what the message of the series has been in the eyes of the mass consumer.
Is... is that a face on Obelisk's chest at 2:00 ? What the actual fuck?
Dude that's cool! Awesome explanation, who knew a guy could learn something like this coming across a Yu-Gi-Oh discussion channel.
Okay, this is a badass theory.
it's because the inspiration behind it is true. not the part abt angels but the part abt sons of Ya39oob 3alayhi ssalaam learning magic from the egyptians whike they were their slaves instead of trusting God's power and Musa (moses) 3alayhi ssalaam whom He had sent for them.
I can't believe they felt the need to bury a piece of paper.
😭your theory videos are always the highlight of my day
By the way during the duel between Jaden and Kagemaru (who is the first to summon the Sacred beasts) Jaden defeats Kagemaru by using “sabatiel - the PHILOSOPHER STONE” which is the main focus and goal for Alchemists all over the world, because it allows to both change metals into Gold and liquids into the immortal juice (funny how the same instruments that allowed to create the Sacred Beasts also allowed their distruction)
Broo your researching and logical skills are insane, and you're putting all this into Yu-Gi-Oh!! Nice
This is extremely well researched for the most part and an awesome theory but there are some mistakes & ideas I wanna point out:
2. We actually see a live procedure of the creation of a card in Season 3 when Pegasus creates Rainbow Dragon in order to help the people trapped in the other dimension
3. As others have pointed out, the specific summoning requirements of the Sacred Beasts are very fitting for alchemy thematics
4. If the Island truly held such insane importance to Kaiba, he would've never even gambled with it by leaving its hands into Chazz's hands, he extremely confidently and proudly believes that the duelists of the next generation and of his Academy will be able to protect it from the Manjome brothers, which I believe is way more in line with his way of thinking, because while Kaiba wants to be the best, he also loves the thrill & excitement of dueling, so genuinely training stronger duelists I think is much more in line with his desires than creating more powerful cards
Damn i love theory vids like this and the story of the protags plus arc v Yu boys! Awesome!
I absolutely love that opening disclaimer, have a sub for that alone
So all along. Commander was the guy Golden nova was refering to during his Secred Beast video. With the reference. Hamon really is the hardest egg to crash bewteen the 3 Beasts. Lucky its was finally cleared up.
