@@socalexpeditions Three month review - still love them! Haven't found any mud, but lots of snow. I didn't even have to put it in 4wd most the time, and they went great. I would definitely buy another set!
I first heard of and saw these tires Feb 2019 at an expo I went to. I unfortunately did not end up getting them bcuz America's Tire does not sell Kenda. I am however very happy with my General Grabber X3. If the price is still right when it's time, I may have to go with these. Great video!
Fit great with 2.5 in lift in front. 1.5 inch in back. Also have a replacement front bumper so fender liner trimming was already done. I have a 17"x8" 0 offset wheel.
So far, excellent in rain and snow. I've driven up a local mountain icy, snowy, and in pouring rain all winter to snowboard and can only kick out if I try. In icy spots...well it's ice.
Kendas been a good name in drifting (pretty much yoinked the FD sponsorship from falken) seems like they know what theyre doing in regards to good tire on a budget. Didnt know how they would perform off road, but sounds like its the same story on street "tire so good the price feels like you stole them" definitely respect them as a company, they try their damnedest to make a MINOR impact on the environment, they now it'll never be zero, but they keep the number low
Great vid, For me it's between the kenda and cooper stt maxx, I'll go with whichever i can get for best price. You've sold me on the Kenda though. The price has gone way up since video post.

I had my search narrowed to Toyo AT3 and Falken AT3, but I've had a couple people people recommend the Kenda. Not sure they're ideal for my use case (trails, nothing technical, and mostly highway en route to adventures) and Toyo AT3's are actually $3 cheaper in 285/70/17 for my GX470.
Good information. I've had these for the last couple months, so far I think they are fantastic, and have run them on pavement, mud, ice, snow and sand. I too am amazed at their grip on the ice and snow. I am curious what others are experiencing with their fuel economy however. I've gone up 2 sizes from stock (285/70/17) and I've lost about 3mpg. It could also be the basket that was added around the same time but would like to hear the MPG experiences from others.
Thanks for the review I'm put a set on a 2017 silverado and heading for the outter banks north carolina maybe I can report how they do in sand ...wish me luck
I'm on my 3rd set... The most I've ever got out of a set was 32k miles. And for the price, you can easily spend another 50 bucks per tire, and get a LOT more miles out of a set. For a 3rd more, you can get twice the usage. They ain't bad tires... But they aren't the best.
WELL, I'M CONVINCED. I'LL BE GETTING THESE FOR MY NEXT SET OF TIRES BASED ON YOUR REVIEW, THE ICING ON THE CAKE. THEY ARE REPLACING MY TOYO;s I'VE HAD FOR THE PAST 5 YEARS... THANKS.
I chose the Maxxis Razr MT over the Kenda RT. But I may try the Kenda RT next time. Which Maxxis did you go with? Not going to lie. Maxxis Razr MT is a solid tire. Kenda Klever RT are cheaper as well.
I have the Maxxis AT tires right now! I'm really really happy with the AT's. I will have a review on them next week after I get some more dirt miles on them. I chose the Maxxis AT's because Kenda still hasn't released the 37x12.5's yet.
@@chriscruz1106 The Maxxis AT's are much, much quieter than the Kenda's. Not even a comparison between the two. However I couldn't get the Kenda's to kick out in rain or snow, and I've yet to be able to test the Maxxis. In terms of road manners, Maxxis. Traction in rain/snow is TBD. Dirt traction is the same. Will test out rocks/crawling soon too.
Could we get a quick video on the tire noise inside the cab? Im currently in a toss up between the Klever R/T and Grabber x3. Obviously two different tires and one is much more cost effective. Just want a tire that will last a bit longe. Also love getting an idea of southern California off-roading. Im from Escondido but never was into the scene then. Can't wait to be back shortly.
@@crjj7691 Oh would you like a video on that tire noise? It's significantly louder than the 35x10.50. It hums pretty dang good, and I only have around 800 miles on the new set. Louder than the X3 by far.
@@socalexpeditions I imagine it would be just as a hybrid should be as far as hum goes between a mud and an all terrain. I can shoot you an email as far as a video goes though? If you you do not mind. Also a fan of the surf vids. Salt creek and the edge are in my top 3.
@@crjj7691 Shoot me a DM on Instagram! It's so hard to hear the tire noise with all the wind/driving noise, but I'm sure you'll get an idea. Thanks for watching the surf videos haha. Hi, of all the tires you used which one are the quietest and how the Kenda compared to them? Debating between the ko2s and Kenda mainly for on road. Thank you
Maxxis Razr A/T and Falken Wildpeak AT3W's are much quieter than the Kenda's. The KO2's are very similar in road noise to the Maxxis and Falkens. I've been a huge fan of my new tires (Maxxis). The Kenda's got a little loud around 25k miles as expected from a hybrid tread pattern.
I really liked the ridge grapplers in everything but snow and rain. I think the Kenda's are a little quieter at 15k miles than the Grapplers and of course a fraction of the price.
I just order the smaller ones of the RT's KR601 235/70/16 - Do not see many reviews of it out there or actual pictures of what they look like - I will post something up to show everyone, as I have not found anything at all
Your video has me thinking of getting these instead of the Ridge Grapplers for my 5th Gen 4Runner. I have the KO2’s now but want to try something else.
I just picked up a set of Kenda Klever at2's. They are very similar to the R/T's in design but have slightly tighter tread block spacing. I am only mentioning this because for many people looking for more of a mild tire Kenda has a fantastic offering in the at2 which has only been on the market for less then a year. They are also very affordable, I bought them for my Sequoia in 275/65r18 for $151 a tire!
The tire size in the video: 35x10.50x17. I ordered a second set, but 35x12.50x17. Life left: 15-16/32nd all the way around. 4/32 for 20k miles. That's CRAZY GOOD. 20,000 Miles Summed Up: The tires have went from dead quiet to humming on the freeway. Still dead quiet under 40ish MPH. I can not feel the lugs turning at low speeds like mud terrains. There is no uneven wear, punctures, cupping, splitting, chunking, or alignment issues. The tires ride very smooth in a Load Range D. I have traveled all around the country with them, and have not once been unimpressed. I only have positive feedback to report!
@@xdedox532 I've blown out way too many tires (screw KO2's!!!) but just don't see the value in it for me. I like running the weird, cheaper tires and risking the blow outs lol.
I wish they made these in bigger sizes. I've wanted these tires ever since I tried kenda M/Ts. Sadly they don't make them bigger than 35s on 17" wheels.

The set I have is 35x10.50x17, and I bought a new set that's 35x12.50x17! Just a tiny bit wider.
got mine installed aug 2020, they are still almost new and has been a great tire. same size 35x12.5x17
May I ask you how well they handle in the rain?
@@TheEleaticOne They handle well in rain
I'm getting a set put on my truck today. They will get tested in the mud this weekend.
So how did they do?"
I just put a set of 275-55-20's on my 2017 F-150 yesterday. I've done both highway and side street driving and like them so far. Anxious to try them out in the snow and mud. I got them on Amazon for $170 each, and free shipping to Pep Boy's for mounting/balancing.
They are awesome! I am going to deep snow next week to give them a shot in fresh powder.
@@socalexpeditions Three month review - still love them! Haven't found any mud, but lots of snow. I didn't even have to put it in 4wd most the time, and they went great. I would definitely buy another set!
Great review, you sold me. Thanks!
Just ordered them, thanks. They come in next week.
I first heard of and saw these tires Feb 2019 at an expo I went to. I unfortunately did not end up getting them bcuz America's Tire does not sell Kenda. I am however very happy with my General Grabber X3. If the price is still right when it's time, I may have to go with these. Great video!
I just got 33x10.5r17 for a 4th gen 4Runner. Ready to try them out!
How did they fit? I have 2000 and want to get these
Fit great with 2.5 in lift in front. 1.5 inch in back. Also have a replacement front bumper so fender liner trimming was already done. I have a 17"x8" 0 offset wheel.
@@bradpeel yes I have ome883 and 861 with bilsteins so looking to get some. Just wanted to make sure they were good
Thanks for the video! Your passion for these tires shows. How well do you like their handling in the rain?
So far, excellent in rain and snow. I've driven up a local mountain icy, snowy, and in pouring rain all winter to snowboard and can only kick out if I try. In icy spots...well it's ice.
These or the mickey thompson baja boss at. Cant decide. these can be studded for the winter but the Mickeys are three peak rated.
Great video. Def giving me something to think about. How do they do on road in the rain?
They do great. I have hucked my truck trying to get it to kick out and it wont.
That’s great to know. I appreciate the feedback.
Thanks brother, ima get these for my jeep
Im planning on putting these on my jeep grand Cherokee, my local tire shop gave me an estimate of $680 mounted and balanced
I called Kenda and they confirmed that the siping is full depth all the way to the wear bars.
Great vid, For me it's between the kenda and cooper stt maxx, I'll go with whichever i can get for best price. You've sold me on the Kenda though. The price has gone way up since video post.
Both are rad, I noticed a right pull with the 255/80 set I had a long time ago on a 2nd gen
@@socalexpeditions Gotcha, Looks like they don't make them on 265/60 which is what I run now on stock gmc canyon. If I go 275/65 they might rub. Im on an 18 inch wheel...the more pizza cutter the better in my opinion.
I just got a set of 35x10.5x17 on my 17 f150.
3mpg sounds about right. I'm getting 13-16.7 now with the 35s.
@@socalexpeditions damn, I get 17 in a one ton diesel with 35x12.5x20s
@@philthyphil3324 Well I kind of strapped a home to my truck...But yes, the diesel is a big help!
Thanks for the review I'm put a set on a 2017 silverado and heading for the outter banks north carolina maybe I can report how they do in sand ...wish me luck
Make sure you air down!
Great review. What do you do with tires that have lots of life left when you replace them?
Sell them
I'm on my 3rd set... The most I've ever got out of a set was 32k miles.
And for the price, you can easily spend another 50 bucks per tire, and get a LOT more miles out of a set. For a 3rd more, you can get twice the usage.
They ain't bad tires... But they aren't the best.
On what vehicle?
WELL, I'M CONVINCED. I'LL BE GETTING THESE FOR MY NEXT SET OF TIRES BASED ON YOUR REVIEW, THE ICING ON THE CAKE. THEY ARE REPLACING MY TOYO;s I'VE HAD FOR THE PAST 5 YEARS... THANKS.
I just put them on my tj 33x9.50r15 they are sweet!
@@socalexpeditions do you prefer Kenda or Maxxis so far?
@@chriscruz1106 The Maxxis AT's are much, much quieter than the Kenda's. Not even a comparison between the two. However I couldn't get the Kenda's to kick out in rain or snow, and I've yet to be able to test the Maxxis. In terms of road manners, Maxxis. Traction in rain/snow is TBD. Dirt traction is the same. Will test out rocks/crawling soon too.
Have you tried the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT tires yet?
Nope!
I run them too. Excellent
Unfortunately I have the 35x12.5s now.
@@socalexpeditions That is the size I am moving too as well.
I stopped bringing the camera out with me; so annoying to hold in my mouth. Always down to paddle out with new people!
Thanks buddy you sold me on them, how do you like them compared to nitto ridge grappler
I really liked the ridge grapplers in everything but snow and rain. I think the Kenda's are a little quieter at 15k miles than the Grapplers and of course a fraction of the price.
Great tires. I had the 35x10.5’s on my 2nd Gen Tacoma and loved them. Seriously considering purchasing them again when the Bronco arrives.
Have u tried Toyo at3 ? Love mine on lx570 an 2500 d max .. yours 3 peak snow rated ?
I just order the smaller ones of the RT's KR601 235/70/16 - Do not see many reviews of it out there or actual pictures of what they look like - I will post something up to show everyone, as I have not found anything at all
How many miles do you drive per year to have to go through all those tires you named?
Your video has me thinking of getting these instead of the Ridge Grapplers for my 5th Gen 4Runner. I have the KO2’s now but want to try something else.
Kunati Trail hogs are also great tires. They are cheap, wear well, and do well enough in snow.
Kunati Trail hogs are also great tires. They are cheap, wear well, and do well enough in snow.
I had fierce attitudes and I was up into 50 k but I rotated em every other oil change
Hey man. Are they good in rain on the road? do they slide etc.
Never had them kick out on me in the rain, so I'm going to say yes
@@socalexpeditions cheers horn
I just picked up a set of Kenda Klever at2's. They are very similar to the R/T's in design but have slightly tighter tread block spacing. I am only mentioning this because for many people looking for more of a mild tire Kenda has a fantastic offering in the at2 which has only been on the market for less then a year. They are also very affordable, I bought them for my Sequoia in 275/65r18 for $151 a tire!
Those are a great set I've recommended to a bunch of people. A lot quieter than the r/t's!
not impressed with the falkens... looking at these to replace
i put the Kenda's on....... I'm so impressed in everyway! incredible off-road and on road performance! get them you'll be glad you did!
Where do you get your tires serviced? I have used discount tire for 15 years but they don’t sell Kenda. Leaving them would be an big move.
I do my own tire rotations. That's pretty much all they are useful for.
@@socalexpeditions flat repair, tire warranty and balancing? Do you ever ruin a tire? Honest question, do you not see value in it?
@@xdedox532 I've blown out way too many tires (screw KO2's!!!) but just don't see the value in it for me. I like running the weird, cheaper tires and risking the blow outs lol.
I hope the price stays low until i get home in a few months!!!
I wish they made these in bigger sizes. I've wanted these tires ever since I tried kenda M/Ts. Sadly they don't make them bigger than 35s on 17" wheels.
Yes they do? I’m about to buy 37’s in 17’s
I was considering these tires, end up with the Yoko Geolandars MT. Thanks for the review.
What's your experience with the Yoko's? They seem top notch!
@@martzelvargaszabala3315 Solid so far, quieter than the GY Wrangler MTRs with Kevlar they replaced. Here is a full thread on Tacoma World dedicated to the Yokos. www.tacomaworld.com/threads/yokohama-geolandar-mt-g003.571954/
Thanks for this!
I have the Bfg ko2 on my Tundra and they aren’t happy with wet roads. I also get vibrating in the steering wheel. Are these smooth on the highway?
I went from KO2s to Kenda Klever AT2's on my Sequoia and the Kendas are a better performing tire in every category especially in the snow/ice and rain. I haven't run the Kenda Klever R/Ts personally but have heard nothing but good things about them.
Hi. What happened to the flippac?
I sold the Flippac. Unfortunately it was not built well for how I travel.
How do the Kenda's compare to the Falken Wildpeak AT3 in regards to on road ride quality in wet or icy conditions?
They are better in snow (especially deep powder). Rain, both are good. I prefer the lower price of the Kendas
Any input on the scorpion all terrain plus ? Mine are good so far.
Never heard of them
How well are they doin now after all this time? How many miles and how much tread is left?
I'm not sure I sold the truck a while back
Nice review 👍🏻
Have to ask… did Kenda sponsor this video in any which way?
One could wish lol! I've never received anything from them, even though this video has probably sold more people on tires than anyone else's videos.
@@socalexpeditions yupppp and u got me looking 😂 too. Great vid!
If they had these in the size I wanted(285/75/18) I would try them...also they seem to be a little heavy.
What mods to fit 35s. I have 3rd gen 4runner and want 35 but worried about fitting
Have you ran Duratracs? I'm currently on them and rather pleased . 55k and still 8/32+ of tread left.
I have. Loved the tire but they didn’t last long before blowing out. Sidewalls are thin. I just had bad luck
3:33- The LED flickering in your video is due to your shutter speed being too high, try setting it to something like 1/80sec the next time you're shooting near LED lights.
I don’t remember exactly but this was likely 1/50th shutter speed as it was shot in 24 fps.
I have em and love ❤️ em!!
