It's funny how a woman is automatically termed a "home-breaker" if she has any relations with married men. But the actions of these men are completely brushed under the carpet. As matter of fact, Akshay Kumar and SRK are still lauded & celebrated for even putting out mediocre work, while PC has to bear the brunt of being "blacklisted". Again, don't know if these rumours are true but they've certainly hurt her more than her male co-stars. Always loved your perspective on such topics, Rusty. Well articulated as always.
Yes, And responsibility lies more on the shoulder of a committed person. For example- if I develop a crush on a married woman and she starts showing interest in me than I would feel that she must be in a bad relationship.
When she started out the media was extremely hostile toward women. Indian media still is, however she is also an American celebrity now and the gossip channels are quite rational on holding people accountable and exposing the truth there. So I believe if it happened currently the situation would be different. As someone from Bangladesh, I have always been connected to the Indian celebrity gossips. I saw many female celebrities being famous for wrong reasons but once their time is over in the media people suddenly acknowledge that what those female celebrities had said had some points although media vilified them back then. The general public didnt help it either I assume because most of the audience followed the celebrity hating media and had no other exposure to rational outlets. But the situation is somewhat changing now, although because of the huge population India has and the existing mindset within the country it still has a long way to go. Not throwing shade or anything, something I genuinely think is the issue as a long time consumer of indian entertainment
I guess because a lot of people depend on these men like their family for money and reputation etc and producers and the industry because they make them money

I'm proud of Priyanka, she didn't sit and cry when she was neglected in Bollywood. She took a stand and soar above it all. She inspires me . She has a loving husband, a pretty baby and an internationally strong personality. She went out of her comfort zone and faced challenging auditions and bagged so many good roles in Hollywood. She upgraded herself. I really get motivated by her. Even when she gets trolled, she stays focused. ❤

Even as a young kid, PC had always been an idol to me. I remember teenage me watching all her interviews with rapt attention, absolutely enamored by just how self-confident, talented and powerful she is. A literal queen. In an industry full of sleazy politics and fake bourgeois, she always brought that it factor with her. She had always inspired me to take initiative and I am so grateful of everything she does within her social organizations to empower little girls in her community and globally

See, I love Priyanka and appreciate her work ethic, however, if we are talking about female actors' salaries, then let's not forgot SRK, Akshay etc led the show with more screen time, so obviously they will get more money, plus they worked years for their brands, so I really don't see the issues, logically the movies they signed for are male-dominated, so obviously the male lead will get more money. Both Pri and Deepika charge more money in many projects where they led the show, Marry Kom, Padmabat, etc.
Now about Twinkle and Gauri's behavior, I don't think these women reacted without any reason, I love SRK as a human and actor, and I love Priyanka too, but I think rumors weren't totally fake, especially when the wives were involved and tbh, I don't think Twinkle and Gauri were wrong for asking their husband to stay away from their rumor gf(any normal women would do that). You will say, they should punish their husband, well we don't know what happened behind the wall, they might get punishment too, But in the end both the lady decided to give their marriage another chance, now it's the director's fault that they asked Priyanka to back up from the project she was in with SRK and Akki. But From a business point of view, I understand them too, on one side a big Brand, and another side a replaceable actress(not because she is a woman or something but because her brand value was less than both SRK and Akki, and Producers and directors will choose between brands to ensure perfect hit), also because of personal matters, she was unlikable to many big names, names who make movies,I won't cast someone I dislike either (basic human behavior)

This feels more like a fan video and less like an analysis.
1st your video comes from the perspective of someone who compiled her interviews making it more biased and based on what she has put forward and not what is the truth.
I like Priyanka a lot as an actor. She is good at acting and that was very reflective in the movie Bajirao Mastani. Despite not being a titular character, she managed to eat up both her co- stars playing a character that symbolises the women who actually shunned her from Bollywood.
With Akshay Kumar, I realise she must be young and misdirected thinking this is what needs to be done to be successful. But with SRK, I believe she knew what she was getting herself into. In no way, I am saying that the men who cheat their wives should not be punished or are not in the wrong. Also it is wrong that these men don't face consequences, they should. But that doesn't excuse her from facing consequences of her actions.
As of backing down in a corner, we have seen that happening with almost all of the outsiders, be it SSR, Kangana and Kartik Aryan, with rumours about his changed behaviour.
It is commendable that she didn't give up and kept going and finding new ways and places to get work but it also undeniable that she was doing very good for herself and kinda fucked up her chances due to her affair with SRK, which she is partly at fault for.

For me the legacy of Priyanka Chopra is her mysterious Asthma, that disappears when she smokes or burns firecrackers at her wedding. But reappears when Diwali is around the corner.
People who have asthma can smoke, it is just much more harmful and it shows the harm instantly. Priyanka did an ad as an actress and her smoking and harming herself is totally different. I don't think people should really care for her health that much. All the actors and actresses do many ads, do you think they use those products? someone else wrote the dialogue and she just said it and got her paycheck, was it unethical? yes, but that's how these entertainers work. So give her a break.
she was seen smoking once and it could have been a specialty cigar or cigarette- i know some people who don't smoke regularly but make exceptions for specialty things for the "experience." rich people thing that i don't understand either.
also, fireworks at a wedding are done from a distance and the scale is quite small. and they probably had professionals too. india's pollution (air, land, and water) is statistically at its worst during diwali. and india has very poor regulation of pollution even today in comparison to other countries. look at the scale. if everyone does firecrackers on the same day then yeah it's bad. if one person is doing it, then it's barely hurting anyone.
@@nidhi2693 For asthmatic person any kind of smoke is bad. And FYI Diwali marks the starting of the wedding season. And nobody is allowed to burst crackers at weddings during the whole winter. Fortunately most Delhites have learned the pattern. We stock up on crackers during the start of September.
Also this pollution problem was created by NGOs who campaigned in Haryana and Punjab to change the harvesting season.

@@AkashYadavOriginal lol do liver and kidney patients don't drink alcohol? do diabetic patients don't eat sugar? in india, tell me which chaiwalla will have sugar free chai for you? my mother is a diabetic and still, some family members have forced her to eat sugar and carbs until she started making excuses for fasting all the time now. and the family members that have diabetes don't give a damn even though india is number 1 for diabetic patients (based off of relative comparison, not by individuals because of the high pop obviously). the wedding did not take place in delhi from what i remember. and even so, how much has delhi improved thus far? 2020 was cleanest it's ever been but it's back to having the worst air quality in the country. banning firecrackers is not the only solution. i literally have seen firecrackers being used in weddings and i saw fireworks go off in vadodara too. it's at a small scale nonetheless. it goes off for 10 min and then it's done for the night. in diwali, you have firecrackers going off for HOURS. there is a stark difference. i'm not defending anyone. i'm just trying to explain how odd the logic is. doing something once does not necessarily kill you. and being exposed to something bad for you for a few minutes is probably better than hours. it's wrong for her to smoke, but unless if the fireworks were not going off for too long and it wasn't harming anyone, i don't see why that's wrong. priyanka lied about nothing. she said she has asthma and asked people to not go crazy during diwali. saying limit is better, but no one listens to that from a marketing point of view so they just say don't do it. not everything is a black or white in this world but it's how people remember.
