@atulkumarvermaofflmao you are commenting this everywhere, you sound butthurt. I would suggest checking out good movies in south industries too, the ones which focus on women or are having balanced characters. KGF or Pushpa aren’t the only South Indian movies.
The reason why women as they get old, start to loose roles is "they were hired because of their looks". When whole PR for an actress is her looks then as soon as she physically ages, her career starts to fall. And this applies to men as well. Actor Taylor Lautner (played wolf in twilight) was hired because of his looks. Women were crazy for him. But the moment he started to gain weight, he lost his stardom. And unlike him Robert Patterson (played vampire in twilight) after twilight went on to doing indie movies. He openly stated that he did not wanted to associate with twilight. He established himself as an actor and he is still relevant. This whole twilight example applies to women in bollywood as well.
Taylor launtner not only get irrelevant because of his looks by his height too.. One woman on Facebook posted a picture of her with Taylor launtner.. And literally said something like.. He looks like a brother or son and maked fun of his height..and in comments all woman get along and decided to make fun of his height.. Hence he lost his majority of him being likable.. Since woman believe what other women says blindly ( not applicable to everyone but majority) this too contributed to Taylor launtner's down fall
Ek chiz ye bhi ki jab 70-80-90's me family drama movies aati thi unme modern women character roles ko bade galat tarike se dikhaya jaata tha, ki modern womens jealousy, greedy type hote hai, aur Ghoonghat odhi hui, pati parmeshwar wale dialogues marne wale hamesha acche hote hai. If you think I am wrong bhai aapne wo movies dekhe hi nahi shayad... For example, Judaai of Anil Kapoor, late Shree Devi ji, Urmila Matondkar
I remember there was this film starring Anil Kapoor and Meenakshi Sheshadri which had Meenakshi's character as a well educated modern woman who fixed anil Kapoor's dysfunctional family (as far as I can remember ) it had Kader Khan as well who was breaking the fourth wall during the late 80s and 90s and he was funny , there was another film with Rekha which was also Salman Khan's debut in a supporting role , she played a village woman but she later turned out to be an educated woman in the end (i don't remember the story ), these are two examples from the 80s-90s bollywood where we can see modern women being shown in positive light.
The thing is jis audience ko ye video samjh aata h unki demography itni kam h ki wo sayd society me change nii la sakte... Rest don't bother about any of this anyway... But the good thing I liked in this video is that you kept it indigenous mostly. It was not West vs. Us. So good work!

A very eye opening video. I would say we need a change in our culture too. Cinema is a mirror to the culture. If we start respecting women more in our culture and refuse to pay money for movies where female characters are just "Window dressing" then the film makers will also have to change to reflect the culture. But unfortunately in India in my opinion the outlook towards women has not changed much. While in big cities and some areas there is a better more modern outlook towards women, in majority of india the state and respect towards women is still 10-20 years behind compared to the rest of india and modern society.
This just shows how filmmakers like satyajit ray were way ahead of their times.Even shyam benegal.I feel parallel cinema throughout the 70s,80s always had solid female performances.Smita patil, shabana azmi, sureka sikhri classic examples.

Very true but sometimes bollywood give a very absurd direction to female characters in the name of empowering movies like four more shots, thank you for coming ,vere di wedding .where character just try to normalise people with low morals.I don't think so cheating ,drinking ,smoking ,abusing should be glorified in the name of empowerment for male or female Movies like mother india, english vinglish, queen Darling are real feminist movies where women hold power of their opinions and feeling .Strong enough to break leashes in their own head . People with low morals and principles should be portrayed but not glorified .I hope people uderstand the difference
people been glorifying promatic behaviour of men in lots of men-centric movies from really start of the time. and it is also thought as cool by men. but 2 movies which talks about women doing this things then they gets called out. like ypu only want to portray women in some sterotypical chacter. and can't fathom women having fun and living basic life. i watched thank you for coming. and other than last part of movie everything of okay. people don't even watch movies but try to attack beforehand like they did in animal. but animal actually had problamatic themes which are glorified by sigayma males.
@@pc_hmk2204 I m not the kind of person who talk without watching movies I have watched all the mentioned movies There is no problem in making such movies and portraying men or women in such way .But problem is selling it in the name of feminism which clearly far away from something real which women fight for .I believe people are more critical of movies in general nowadays Misogynist and glorifing nature of male centric movies have been called out .And if we are talking about such behaviour then definitely testimonial that people are aware what they are watching and critical about situation of our society. @@pc_hmk2204 Yeah, a lot of assumptions in your comment. He literally said that the old movies were literally loved by women too, automatically assuming that it was "cool by men". Those 2 movies, "4 more shots" and "thank you for coming" are directly very open to cheating. In the final episode of season 2, one of the character who was cheating on her bf for the entire season got caught and actually victim blamed the bf. This is the epitome of "feminism" bollywood portrays? "like ypu only want to portray women in some sterotypical chacter. and can't fathom women having fun and living basic life" so cheating and getting away with it is basic life? Animal was indeed bad but I never understood how it hated women, ranbir cheated and his wife left him, He literally got the consequences of his actons. What consequence the girl from 4 more shots got? like the movie by Alia bhatt "live you zindagi" was about mental health but the movie show that she got cheated on and got her mental health ruined, ok but alia also cheated on another character in her movie? You seem damn pissed that "4 more shots" is getting called out because there are also male centric female, you somewhere feel that 4 more shots is justified too. But let me tell you, just because there are toxic male centric movies doesn't justify the toxic female centric movie. That is how it works, don't like it then cry about it

Movies essentially reflect our society. In the 80s and 90s, women were not portrayed as strong. If filmmakers created films with strong, independent women, the audience might not have connected with them. This is evident in movies like 'Silsilay' and 'Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna.' While these movies are quite realistic, they go against societal norms. Hence, filmmakers face pressure to depict what the audience wants to see. Now, with feminism being a hot topic, the audience has evolved. Therefore, it's important not to confuse different eras with each other… that why I like @thestorybee she has good analysis
Bollywood is mirror of society, we as a society still not managed to create safe nation for our children and women . Bollywood is showing what society is consuming .

I think between the time of 2000s to 2010s, Bollywood was at its peak of showing women as eye candy. Tabu, Vidya, Kangana, Priyanka were the actresses who changed the dynamics by starring in successful female led films for the later actresses like Deepika, Anushka, Taapsee, Aalia, Yami etc.
Its not only Bollywood's problem but whole indian cinemas, from telugu tamil films where throwing fruits on female's body is turned to be heroic to men forcing them into things ,they doesn't want As a Bengali person even our regional movies shows women's as docile and submissive, and regarding bihari movies it should be taken 😂away from this type of discussion.

Excellent point

Very true but sometimes bollywood give a very absurd direction to female characters in the name of empowering movies like four more shots, thank you for coming ,vere di wedding .where character just try to normalise people with low morals.I don't think so cheating ,drinking ,smoking ,abusing should be glorified in the name of empowerment for male or female
Movies like mother india, english vinglish, queen Darling are real feminist movies where women hold power of their opinions and feeling .Strong enough to break leashes in their own head .
People with low morals and principles should be portrayed but not glorified .I hope people uderstand the difference
I hope so too
people been glorifying promatic behaviour of men in lots of men-centric movies from really start of the time. and it is also thought as cool by men. but 2 movies which talks about women doing this things then they gets called out. like ypu only want to portray women in some sterotypical chacter. and can't fathom women having fun and living basic life. i watched thank you for coming. and other than last part of movie everything of okay. people don't even watch movies but try to attack beforehand like they did in animal. but animal actually had problamatic themes which are glorified by sigayma males.
Personally talking animal and thank you for coming both written very superficially I didn't liked any of them to revist anytime. But I liked animal for its visual representation and songs

Darlings and Lapata Ganj did release in theatres here Vedant😊All of your videos are superb! For me ZMND and Lal Singh Chadda are my most favourite-female led movies😊
Vedant bro topic 🙏🙏🙏and writing/script ❤❤
Ayeee shoutout to the whole team!
@@vedantrusty team🙌🙌
This is the situation in bollywood mainly (not sure about other industries tbh). Please watch the bengali movies. There are many women-centric movies from the beginning.
Its disaster to watch animal Kabir Singh type movie in theatre
But at the same time more and more women centric films are comming and they are doing awesome in theatre...in women centric males are not been bullied and beaten unnecessarily, but in male centric film slapping women is a common thing... specially in south film industry
I respect all women out there Entertainment has no gender If a female centric movie is fun to watch I'll watch it
But my point is the sole purpose of movie is to Entertain people It should be above all the world issues There are documentaries and other things for awareness
But at the same time I agree women should not be portrayed as weak character
movies or art in general have always been political. There were no age in cinema where movies weren't political. Art meant for People to speak their ideas to the public.
Women ought unto be portrayed as weak within every essence. Rather. Women art naturally weaker than Men. Man is naturally Dominant. Fortunately. As a Real Woman I do naturally rather Love the MEN ! *
7:15 I love you bro qk as a Women im watching ur every video and u always respect women and they way you stand for women is amazing.. ❤😊
It would be good if you gave English subtitles. Lot of us don't understand Hindi that much.
